Features
The Sunbeam Mixmaster hand mixer has been designed to assist you in
preparing delicious foods. The different speeds enable you to thoroughly
mix ingredients. The location of the beater ejector makes it easy for you
to remove the beaters. The unit has been designed for easy storage, too.
Using Your Hand Mixer
Before using the mixer, wash the beaters, pastry hooks (some models
only), and bowl in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
Be sure speed control is in the “OFF” position and cord is unplugged
from electrical outlet. Insert beaters, one at a time, by placing stem end
of beaters into opening on bottom of the mixer. Turn beater slightly and
push in until beater clicks into position.
Plug cord into 120 volt, 60 Hz, A.C. electrical outlet.
Although your mixer is much more convenient to use on a stand, it is
not designed to be used for heavy mixing, such as bread dough, pasta
dough, etc., which could cause overheating and possibly motor damage.
Burst of Power Control (some models only)
The Burst of Power control allows you to obtain 25% extra mixing power
on any of the speed settings. Simply press down on the Burst of Power
lever for extra power. Release lever to instantly return to normal speed.
The Burst of Power control is helpful when mixing heavier ingredients you won’t back off from those tough mixing jobs again!
Hand Mixer On a Stand
Attach the hand mixer to the stand by
fully inserting the three mounting
piris into the mounting holes on the
bottom of the hand mixer. To remove
the hand mixer from the stand simolv
lift the mixer vertically off the stand 1
cradle without twisting or tilting.
NOTE The mixing bowl provided with
this mixer is not heat resistant glass
and should
not
be
placed
in the oven.
Always transfer the ingredients to a
baking dish or pan designed for oven
use. Do not use mixing bowls to blend
in large volumes of hoi liquids or to
mash potatoes while still hot.
Pastry Hooks (some models only)
Pastry hooks must go into the correct
sockets. Look at the collar on the stems of
the pastry hooks. One pastry hook is marked
with an “c’ (left). The other pastry hook is
marked with an ‘73” (right). These markings
correspond with the markings on the mixer.
The pastry hook with the “L” is inserted in
the socket “L” and the pastry hook with “R”
is inserted in the socket marked “R”.
Insert, one at a time, by placing stem end
into opening on bottom of mixer. Turn
slightly and push in until hook clicks into
place. When using the pastry hooks, USE
THE HAND MIXER OFF THE STAND.
Mixing
Hand Mixer:
Slowly guide mixer around sides and through center of bowl, going in
the same direction. Be careful not to overbeat the mixture. Overbeating
tends to make some mixtures tough.
Stop the mixer and scrape sides and bottom of bowl and beaters with a
rubber spatula, as needed. Turn speed control to OFF and rest mixer on
its heel rest while adding ingredients. Be sure to position beaters over
mixing bowl, so that any drippings will fall back into mixing bowl.
When mixing is complete, set speed control to FOLD. Raise beaters
slowly from batter to clean off clinging food. Be sure to turn unit OFF
before raising beaters completely out of mixing bowl.
Stand Mixer:
Ingredients should be added to the mixing bowl as they are specified in
the recipe. When combining wet and dry ingredients, you may wish to
moisten ingredients on LOW speed, then turn to the desired mixing
speed. Use the mixing speed that is recommended in the “Speed Guide
For Hand Mixers.”
Be Careful Not To Overmix:
Overmixing can cause a mixture to become very tough. Should an
object, such as a spatula, fall into the bowl while the mixer is operating,
turn the mixer OFF immediately. Then, remove the object.
When mixing is complete, turn the speed control lever to OFF, and
unplug cord. Raise the mixer head. Use a rubber or plastic spatula to
scrape the excess batter from the beaters and place in the sink for easy
cleanup.
Ejecting Beaters and Pastry Hooks:
Be sure speed control is at the OFF position and cord is removed from
electrical outlet. Scrape off any excess batter with a rubber spatula.
Grasp the stems of the beaters or pastry hooks with your hand and press
beater ejector button. Beaters or pastry hooks will pop out into your
hand.
