このたびは、スタックスのイヤースピーカー（ヘッドフォン）SR-507をお買い上げいただきまして、誠にありがとう
ございます。
Prior to use
The SR-507 is an electrostatic type earspeaker. Please read this user's manual carefully in order to use the unit
safely and to bring out its maximum performance for many years of listening pleasure. Please be sure to keep this
manual along with the warranty card after reading.

この製品は、世界で最初にコンデンサー型ヘッドフォンを発売したスタックスが50年以上にわたる豊富な経験を生
かし、最新の技術を導入して開発したイヤースピーカーです。イヤースピーカーは一般のヘッドフォンと違って磁石
やコイルを一切使用せず、静電気の力を利用して音を出す方式です。薄い振動膜（板）に580Vの直流電圧（バイア
ス電圧）を加えておき、それを挟んだ2枚の固定電極に音楽の信号を供給することで発生する静電気の吸引・反発の
力で、非接触で極薄の振動膜を駆動して音を出す構造です。このような原理により、出てくる音の性質が極めて素
直で繊細なため、音楽の持つニュアンスを余すところなく再生することができます。このため、イヤースピーカー
は直接一般のヘッドフォンジャックにつなぐことができません。専用のアンプ（ドライバーユニット）をご用意して
お使いください。

About electrostatic earspeaker
The SR-507 is an electrostatic earspeaker developed by STAX, the world's first manufacturer of an electrostatic
headphone, with the newest technology taking advantage of the abundant experiences over 50 years or more. The
earspeaker is the system that uses neither a magnet nor any coil unlike a general headphone, but makes sound
using the power of static electricity. While the direct-current voltage of 580V (bias voltage) is applied to the thin film
diaphragm, musical signals are provided to the two fixed electrodes sandwiching the ultra-thin film. The film then is
driven back and forth by the generated electrostatic force to make sound in a contactless way. Since this sounding
principle assures extraordinarily natural and delicate tone, even the slightest nuance of music can be reproduced.
For this reason your earspeaker cannot be connected directly to a usual headphone jack. Please be sure to use the
exclusive amplifier (driver unit) to drive your earspeaker.

ヘッドフォン本体とケーブル以外の左右
の本体を支えている一式の総称
イヤースピーカーは一般のヘッドフォンジャックに直
接接続することができません。専用のドライバーユ
ニットをご用意してください。接続する製品の取扱説
明書をよく読んでからお使いください。
●ドライバーユニットのボリュームを絞ってから、イ
ヤースピーカーのコードプラグの凸印を上にして、
真っすぐ奥まで差し込んでください。コードの抜き
差しの時は必ずプラグを持って真っすぐ引き抜いて
ください。（斜めに引き抜くとコンセントなどを破
損することがあります）
●イヤースピーカーの装着／着脱の際には、必ず両手
でヘッドフォン本体を持って行ってください。
●装着の高さを調整は、ヘッドパッドの左右に調整の
ためのスライド部分（１０段階）を移動して行うこ
とができます。

The earspeaker cannot be connected directly to a
general headphone jack. Please prepare an exclusive driver unit. Also please refer to the instruction
manual of the product to be connected.
●Turn down the volume of the driver unit, and
insert the code plug of your earspeaker straight and
fully into the socket with its convex mark upward.
Be sure to hold the plug in a straight line when you
insert or pull out the cord. (Inserting or pulling the
plug aslant might damage the socket of your driver
unit.)
●Please be sure to hold the whole earspeaker with
both hands when you wear or detach it.
●The wearing height can be adjusted by moving
the slider at right-and-left side of the head pad.

PROバイアス（580V/DC）、NORMALバイ
アス（230V/DC）について：
SR-507は、現在スタックスで作られているイヤース
ピーカーのPROバイアス（580V/DC）でお使いいただ
くように設計されています。1960年に発売されたSR-
1など古くからのイヤースピーカーは、NORMALバイ
アス（230V/DC）でお使い頂く仕様です。いずれのバ
イアス電圧用に設計されたイヤースピー力一かの区別
は、コードの先端部分（プラグ）のピンの数で区別で
きます。6本ならNORMALバイアス 用、5本ならPRO
バイアス用です。SR-507は 5本ピンですから”PRO
ONLY”と書かれた5つ穴のあいたコネクターに挿入し
てご使用ください。尚、6つ穴のあいたNORMALバイ
アス用コネクターに挿入した場合、音量が小さくなっ
て音がソフトになります。この時、無理に音量を上げ
るとイヤースピーカーを痛め たり、ドライバーユニット
の出力信号が歪んでしまいますのでご注意ください。
●ネジをはずしたり、分解・改造したりしないでくだ
さい。分解された場合、保証期間中でも有償の修理
となりますのでご注意ください。
内部の点検や修理等は、販 売店又は弊社サービス 課
までご連絡ください。
●イヤースピーカーは振動板（膜）に極めて薄いプラ
スティックの膜を使用しております。また、静電気
で動作しますので、あまり高温や極端に湿度の高い
ところでのご使用は避けてください。風呂上がりな
ど、特に頭髪が濡れている場合はよく乾いてからお
使いください。濡れたまま装着すると故障の原因に
なります。
●コードの抜き差しの時はプラグを持って行い、コー
ドに無理な力が加わらないようにしてください。
●SR-507はしなやかな特製幅広低容量のケーブルを
搭載していますが、取扱いには十分ご注意くださ
い。収納時など、プラグとケーブルの境目やヘッド
フォン本体からの引き出し部分は急に曲げたりしな
いでください。断線などの原因になります。
●本体を投げ出したり、落としたり急激なショックを
与えると内部発音ユニットに悪影響を与えますの
で、丁寧にお取扱いください。
●大き過ぎる音は耳の為に良くありません。
歪感がないので、つい音量を大きくしがちですが、
大音量は耳のためにもイヤースピーカーのためにも
有害です。イヤースピーカーは音量を大きくしなく
ても音のディテールがよく聴き取れるように聞き取
れるように設計されています。くれぐれも大き過ぎ
る音で聴くことは避けるよう、お願いいたします。
●本体、イヤーパッドの汚れは、薄い石鹸水か中性洗
剤を含ませたガーゼなどで拭いてください。

About PRO bias (580 V/DC) and NORMAL
bias (230 V/DC):
The SR-507 is designed to use the PRO bias (580 V/
DC) like other current STAX earspeakers. On the
other hand, old earspeakers like the SR-1 released in
1960 are specified to use the NORMAL bias (230 V/
DC). The bias voltage needed for the earspeaker is
distinguishable by the number of pins at the tip portion
(plug) of the code. If the plug has 6 pins, the
earspeaker is designed for NORMAL bias, and if 5
pins, it is designed to use PRO bias. Since the SR507 has 5 pins, insert its plug into the "PRO ONLY"
connector with 5 holes. When the SR-507 plug is
inserted into the NORMAL bias connector with 6
holes, its volume level gets lower and its sound becomes softer. Keep in mind that the earspeaker will
be damaged or the output signals of the driver unit will
be distorted when the volume is raised too much with
NORMAL bias.
●Do not remove screws, or do not attempt disassembly or modification. If disassembled or modified, the
warranty of this product becomes invalid in spite of its
warranty term.
Please contact your dealer or our company service
division for repair or for internal check.
●The earspeaker employs ultra-thin plastic film diaphragm, and it operates with static electricity. Avoid
using it in a high-temperature and extremely humid
place. Especially when your hair has got wet e.g. after
bathing, dry it well before using your earspeaker. Wet
hair may cause failure of your earspeaker.
●Insert or pull out the cord by holding the plug to
avoid adding excessive force to the code.
●The SR-507 employs elastic, low-capacitance special wide cable, so enough care should be taken in
handling it. When storing your earspeaker, do not
bend the cable excessively at the plug/cable boundary or at its joint to the earspeaker housing. Otherwise, it may lead to a trouble such as disconnection.
●A sudden shock to the earspeaker through throwing
or dropping would give a bad influence on the internal
sounding unit. Always handle your earspeaker carefully.
●Too loud sound is not good for your ear. The low
distortion of the earspeaker may tempt you to raise
volume level, but large volume level is detrimental
both to your ear and to your earspeaker. The
earspeaker is designed so that the detail of sound can
be heard well even at a moderate volume level. Be
sure to avoid listening in a too loud volume level.
●Wipe off the dirt of the ear-speaker main part and
ear pads with gauze containing thin soapsuds or neutral detergent.

●Two kinds of convenient extended codes are available for listening to your earspeaker at a distant place.

●Since ear pad touches the skin directly, it is an article of consumption. It deteriorates through everyday
use and long-term preservation. Please exchange

注意
コードの抜き差しは、必ずプラグを持って行ってください。

●もし、イヤースピーカーからパチパチ音が聞こえた
ら、振動膜が固定極にタッチしている音かもしれませ
ん。これは故障では無い場合がありますので、もうし
ばらく様子をみてください。
ご注意！イヤーパッド側（防塵ネットの上）か
ら発音体を手で強く押すと、電極が変形して発
音体を破損させてしまうことがあります。絶対
に押したりしないでください。
●イヤースピーカーの左右の音量がアンバランスに感
じられる（一 般にスピーカーよりヘッドフォンの方が
左右のアンバランスが目立ちやすい）場合、ドライ
バーユニットに入力され ている信号が左右でアンバラ
ンスな場合も考えられます。
ドライバーユニットのバランス調整を確認 してくださ
い。また、入力されている信号を左右入れ換えてみ
て、それでも 同じチャンネルがアンバランスな場合は
イヤースピーカーあるいはドライバーユニットに故障の
原因が考えられます。
製品の修理につきまして
故障の症状をできるだけ詳しく書いたメモを添えて、
弊社サービス課又はお買い求めになった販売店までお
持ちいただくか、お送りください。
お送りいただく場合は、ご購入の時に入っていた箱に
入れ、無ければ製品より一回り大きな箱をご用意し
て、新聞紙などを丸めてクッションにしてから梱包し
てお送りください。
紛失などのトラブルが起きないように、配達の確認が
できる宅配便などをご利用ください。

●Crackly noise heard from your earspeaker may
indicate that the film diaphragm touches the fixed
electrodes. Sometimes the noise goes away after a
while, so wait and see for some time.
Caution! If the sound element is strongly pushed by
hand from the ear-pad side (onto the dust-protection
net), the internal electrode is transformed and the
sound element may be damaged. Never push the
sound element.
●In case the right-and-left volume of your earspeaker
seems to be imbalanced (generally the unbalance of
right-and-left channel level is more perceivable with a
headphone than with a loudspeaker), the signals inputted into the driver unit may be imbalanced at rightand-left channels.
Check the balance adjustment of your driver unit.
Also, if the same channel is still imbalanced after
having exchanged the right and left input signal, the
unbalance seems to be caused by the earspeaker
driver unit itself.

古いイヤーパッドを剥がして新しいイヤーパッドを貼
り付けます。残った古い両面テープのカスは、アル
コールを浸したガーゼなどで擦ってきれいにした後、
新しいイヤーパッドを貼り付けます。
イヤーパッドには「左右」がございます。
一度貼りつけると貼り直しできませんので、イヤー
パッドの向きに、十分ご注意ください。

First remove the old ear pad. Then rub off the dregs of
the old double-sided tape remaining by using alcoholdipped gauze before you finally stick a new ear pad.
The ear pad distinguishes right from left. Once stuck,
the ear pad is impossible to be re-stuck, so you have
to be careful enough about the direction of the ear
pad.
Please refer to the exchange instruction of the EP-507
ear pad.
Caution:
Never use solvents such as benzene or thinner for
cleaning. They may transform or melt the earspeaker
housing.
