Linux CUPS Driver Install
Note: It is recommended that you plug in and turn on your printer before the CUPS service has started.
RPM Install
< Installation in GUI mode>
Most modern installations allow for the graphical installation of RPM les. Generally when double clicking the le,
a full installation will begin, allowing you to skip the following steps (Installation in command line).
< Installation in command line>
1. Use the “su” command to enable root account privileges.
2. Navigate to the directory where the “starcupsdrv-2.8.0-1.i386.rpm” le is located.
3. Run the rpm command using the ‘i’ and ‘v’ switches and the name of the RPM le. The full command should
read: rpm -iv starcupsdrv-2.8.0-1.i386.rpm
The RPM has been installed.

CUPS Driver Install
1. Open your favorite web browser and navigate to “http://localhost:631”.

2. Click on the “Manage Printers” link.
3. Click on the “Add Printer” button.
4. Enter a printer name and optionally the location and description of the printer, then click “Continue”.
5. Select which port your printer is assigned to and click “Continue”.
If your printer was not plugged in and turned on before the CUPS service started, please restart CUPS or reboot
your system. Optionally, you may choose the correct USB printer number assigned to your printer.
