technically advanced voltage monitoring system in the market
today. Add to it our never ending commitment to quality, this
new system will provide you with years of dependable, trouble
free service.

The ALT ALERT is a Solid State Voltage Monitor designed for
use on fire, ambulance, and rescue vehicles. Simply put, the
ALT ALERT warns the vehicle operator if the electrical systems
voltage is out of its safe operating range.

If the vehicles voltage falls below 11.80 volts for more than 7
seconds or if it exceeds 15.50 volts, the ALT ALERT will
modulate either an indicator light or a warning buzzer to
forewarn of an impending failure in the charging system. The
ALT ALERT will automatically reset itself when the system
returns to normal voltage and begin monitoring the electrical
system again.

INSTALLATION

MOUNTING: Mount the ALT ALERT near the battery in a
convenient location within the engine compartment.

BLACK WIRE: Connect to a convenient reliable ground.
BLUE WIRE: Connect to either an indicator light or a warning

buzzer. Output is a 12 vdc, 60 cycle pulse rated at 1 amp
maximum.

RED WIRE: Connect through a 2 amp fuse to a source of 12
vdc power that is HOT when the ignition switch is ON.

WARRANTY

SoundOff Signal warranties the ALT ALERT (EAA000) Solid
State Charging System Monitor for 1 (one) full year from the
date of purchase to the original purchaser against any manu­facturer defects or workmanship. This warranty applies only to
units installed according to manufacturer's installation instruc­tions and operated within the unit's specifications.

Warranty is void if the unit was installed incorrectly or mali­ciously damaged.

All warranty claims must be accompanied by a dated proof of
purchase.

SoundOff Signal retains the right to be the sole mediator of what
constitutes defects in performance or manufacturing.

GREEN WIRE (Optional Test Wire): Connect to one side of a
normally open push button switch. Connect the other side of
the switch to ground.

TO TEST: Turn ignition switch ON. Push and hold test button
for at least 7 seconds: the ALT ALERT will then activate the
warning device(s) until the switch is released.
