PoE Kit Mounting Instructions
Please note
Ì Before installing/removing any LAN module
please make sure that the appliance is
powered off and power cables are removed.
Ì PoE modules are only supported on
the following models and revisions:
SG/XG 210 rev.3
SG/XG 230/310/330/430/450 rev.2
Ì You can only use one PoE module
per appliance (on SG/XG 430/450
models use the rightmost slot).
Mounting the PoE module
1. Unscrew the metal plate from the
vacant slot you want to use
2. Remove the metal plate
3. Insert the PoE module into the open slot
4. Tighten the screws of the PoE module

PoE Kit Mounting Instructions
Connecting the PoE Power Supply
1. Locate the Power connector on
the backside of your appliance and
attach the PoE Power Supply to it
Connecting your Powered Device
2. Connect your powered device (e.g.
Access point) via a standard Ethernet
cable to any port of the PoE module
Managing your Power Budget
3. The PoE Power Supply provides a
max. Power of 120W. This allows you
to power up to 4x 802.3at (30W) or 8x
802.3af (15W) compatible devices or any
combination hereof which does not use
more than 120W in total (see table)
4. If you plug in any further device the
PoE Load LED turns on. In that case
remove one connected device to keep
the max. required load below 120W
Please note
You can enable/disable the PoE function of each
port via the admin console of your SG/XG device.
