1 General
This document describes the installation procedure for the Mechanical repair
package. The Mechanical repair package consists of a Computer and Interface
Cables. A label printer can be installed to be able to print new labels.
2 Hardware
All hardware must be approved by Sony Ericsson and is documented in the
Equipment List.

2.2 Computer
IBM compatible computer is required. The computer should have a USB-port. Refer
to Equipment List for minimum requirements.
2.3 Service Card Reader/Service Card
The Service card reader/Service card is required to print labels. The Service Card
Reader is delivered with the necessary software and instructions for installation. The
Service Card Reader connects to a USB-port on the computer.
2.4 Sony Ericsson programming interface cable – DCU-65
The cable is the interface between the computer and the phone. The DCU-65 cable
should be connected to a USB-port on the computer.
2.5 Bluetooth Device
Any Bluetooth device such as a headset, other Bluetooth phone or other Bluetooth
device can be used to verify the Bluetooth function in the phone. Set up the
connection according to the chosen equipment’s manufacturer instructions.
2.6 Power Supply
A Power Supply according to the Mechanical Equipment List may be used.
Set the output of the Power Supply as follows
• Voltage: 3.8Vdc
• Current: 2.0Amps
2.7 Battery Eliminator (Dummy Battery)
A Battery Eliminator is to be used together with a power supply to power the phone.
Connect the cables from the battery eliminator to the power supply, red cable to
positive output terminal and black cable to negative output terminal.
2.8 Label Printer

A Zebra printer shall be used. Connect the printer with a Null Modem cable [refer to
the Zebra printer manual] to the serial port on the computer. Read the Zebra
installation manual for more information about the installation.

3 Software
3.1 EMMA
EMMA contains software upgrades and tools required for servicing this phone.
EMMA is accessible through the CSPN webpage. Installation and user manuals are
available at the EMMA start page.

3.2 Labelmake II software
LabelMake II is an application installed through Java Web Start.
Access the Labelmake software from CSPN webpage.

LabelMake II
Press “START LabelMake II “button and you will be directed to the LABELMAKE II
client page.
Product labels are downloaded on-line from a remote server database.
