To select the answering mode
There are three options of answering mode. Select the answering
mode by setting the RINGER SELECT switch.
Set RINGER SELECT to
TS (Toll Saver)
ANN ONLY
Note
The same greeting is used regardless of the answering mode. Therefore, if you
decide to change the mode, make sure that you record a new greeting to match
the answering mode.
Mode
If now messages have been recorded, the phono answers at the third
ring and records incoming messages: if no new messages are
recorded, it answers at the fifth ring. You can save the toll for the
call when you pick up messages from an outside phone (see page
31).
The phone always answers at the third ring and records incoming
messages.
The phone plays the greeting only, without recording incoming
messages (Announcement only).
When the memory is full
The recording area of this phone's memory is 15 minutes (including
the greeting, messages, and memo). If the remaining recording area
becomes less than one minute, "F" flashes on the counter, and the
phone automatically switches to ANN ONLY mode, which doesn't
record messages.
However, the greeting will not change.
To avoid this, erase unnecessary messages (see page 27). You can also
erase the messages from an outside phone (see page 31).
