Offered as a new addition to the
Sony PVM-L series, the PVM-9L3 is an
affordable 9-inch CRT (8 inches viewable
area measured diagonally) monitor

®

incorporating a Sony HR Trinitron

CRT.

With its compact design, excellent picture
performance, full range of operational
functions, and high level of portability, the
PVM-9L3 is designed to meet the demands
of high-grade picture monitoring in a variety
of program-production applications.

High Resolution

Thanks to the Sony HR Trinitron CRT,
the PVM-9L3 achieves a remarkable
horizontal resolution of 450 TV lines for
precise and sharp image reproduction.

A Wide Variety of Optional Input
Adapters

The PVM-9L3 is designed to
accommodate a variety of optional input
adaptors. Four optional boards are
available, allowing the PVM-9L3 to be
configured to accept SDI, SDTI-CP, DV or
analog component, in addition to the
standard inputs for Y/C and composite
signals.

Blue Only Mode

The Blue Only mode enables signal noise
to be easily evaluated. It also allows the
monitor's chroma and phase adjustments
to be made easily using SMPTE type color
bars*.

High Quality Y/C Separation

When composite signals are input, Y/C
separation is achieved using a high-grade
digital comb filter to minimize the cross­color interference and dot crawl inherent
to composite signals.

Assignable Parallel Remote Port
(Modular 8-pin)

Allows parallel control for functions such
as Line A, Line B, Option A, Option B,
Tally, Underscan, 16:9, Ext Sync, Blue
Only, and Degauss.

Portability

The PVM-9L3 is compatible with Sony BP
series batteries for convenient DC
operation. Weighing only 17 lb. 10 oz.
(8 kg), it has an integrated carrying
handle on its top surface. A monitor
hood/connector protector kit for ENG use
is available as an optional accessory
The PVM-9L3 can also be mounted in a
19-inch EIA standard rack

OSD (On Screen Display)

The OSD menu is available in 7 languages
(English, German, French, Italian, Spanish,
Japanese, and Chinese). The factory­preset language is English. The OSD
menu offers various picture settings and
adjustments such as color
temperature/balance, chroma/phase, etc.

Two Color Systems

The PVM-9L3 can display PAL or NTSC
signals. The appropriate color system is
selected automatically when a signal is
input.
