Sony introduces the new 20 and 14-inch* PVM-L
series multiformat monitors to its monitor line-up.
Designed to support the wide variety of DTV formats,
the PVM-20L5 and PVM-14L5 monitors offer excellent
flexibility and performance, and provide an ideal
solution for your current and future needs.
Comparable in price to single format monitors, these
monitors are suitable for production environments
such as non-linear editing, post production and
streaming media applications.

Multiformat signal support

The PVM-20L5/14L5 is equipped with input connectors for
composite, S-video (Y/C) and RGB/component signals. Also
in combination with the optional input adaptors, it is able to
accept a wide range of digital signals including 480/60I,
575/50I, 1035/60I, 1080/50I, 1080/60I and 720/60P. In
addition to the current line of input adaptors, a new adaptor
for SDTI-CP will be available in Fall 2001 and another adaptor
for i.LINK™(IEEE1394) is also planned to be available in the
future to provide even more flexibility.

New compact design

The PVM-20L5/14L5 is compact with the operational controls
located on the sides. When compared with the conventional
PVM-M series monitors, the PVM-20L5 can be mounted with
one less rack space (9 rack unit height) and the PVM-14L5
with two less (6 rack unit height). LED lit sheet keys are
adopted for the controls, and they can be turned off or their
brightness can be controlled depending on user preference.

HR Trinitron®CRT

Incorporating the Sony HR Trinitron CRT,the PVM-20L5/14L5
achieves a high resolution of 800 TV lines and offers SMPTE-C
phosphors. Its outstanding color uniformity and performance
offer superb picture performance.

Option slot

The option slot gives the PVM-20L5/14L5 excellent flexibility.
Depending on the particular system requirements, the most
appropriate adaptor can simply be inserted in the option slot.

Six Language On-Screen Display

The new window-type OSD makes monitor setup, adjustment
and operation easy.

Parallel and serial remote

With the parallel and RS-485 serial remote control capability,
the PVM-20L5/14L5, along with the BVM monitors, can be
controlled in one integrated, multi-monitor system.

Effective operational functions

H/V Delay,Underscan, Blue Only, MONO, 4:3 Area Marker and
three color Tally (Red,Green, Amber: R + G) functions are
provided for optimal display.

Aspect ratio

The PVM-20L5/14L5 is capable of displaying both 4:3 and
16:9 formats. A 16:9 aspect ratio mask is provided as
an option.

Worldwide power supply

The PVM-20L5/14L5 is capable of operating between
AC 100 V to 240 V.
