Operating Instructions
Before operating the unit, please read this manual
thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
Precautions
• operate the unit only on 6 V DC. For AC operation, use
the AC power adaptor supplied with this unit. Do not use
any other AC power adaptor. For car battery operation,
use the car battery cord recommended for this unit. For
battery operation, use four size C (R14) batteries.
• The nameplate indicating operating voltage is located on
the bottom of the unit.
• Disconnect the AC power adaptor from the wall outlet
when it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
• When the operational batteries are not to be used, remove
them to avoid damage caused by battery leakage and
corrosion.
• Do not leave the unit in a location near heat sources, or in
a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust,
mechanical vibration or shock.
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, unplug
the AC power adaptor and remove the batteries, and have
the unit checked by qualified personnel before operating it
any further.
• If the unit has not been used for a long time, set it in
playback mode and warm it up for a few minutes before
inserting a cassette.
• The use of a cassette tape longer than 90 minutes is not
recommended except for long continuous recording or
playback.
DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER
This product is not meant to be immersed in water or
come in continuous contact with water.
• Before opening or shutting the cassette holder or battery
compartment lid, be sure to wipe off water, dust or sand
on the outside of the unit.
• Water in the earphone jack may cause rusting. Cover the
jade with the attached rubber cap when the earphone is
not used.
• If the unit is splashed with salt water, wipe dean with a
damp doth, then dry with a soft dry cloth. Do NOT wash
under running water; do NOT use soap or detergent; do
NOT dry with an electric hair dryer.
• The supplied AC power adaptor is not water resistant. To
prevent shock hazard, avoid using the set near water
during AC operation.
If you have any question or problem concerning your unit
(that is not covered in this manual), please consult your
nearest Sony dealer.
Owner’s Record
The model number is located at the bottom of the Radio
Cassette-Corder, and the serial number is located in the
battery compartment.
Record the serial number in the space provided below.
Refer to these numbers whenever you call upon your Sony
dealer regarding this product.
