product. All the features of this product were designed
to the state of the art and are optimised for simple
and straightforward use. If you have any queries or
experience any problems with your appliance not
addressed in the operating manual, please contact

■ Intended use

The Soehnle Professional Fitness Scale 7850 was
designed to carry out body analyses on people.
This scale is intended for non-approved applications
within the EC. It complies with the prevailing
requirements of EU Directives 89/336/EEC, 73/23/EEC
and European standards EN 61000-6-3 and
EN 55014-2.

■ Safety instructions

Before putting the appliance into use, please read
with care the information in the Operating Manual.
It contains important instructions for installation,
intended use and maintenance of the appliance.
The manufacturer shall not be liable if the following
instructions are not observed. In case the electrical
components are used under increased safety
requirements, compliance with the appropriate
regulations are compulsory. The device is designed
for use in buildings. Observe the permissible
ambient temperatures for use (Technical data). The
device meets the requirements for electromagnetic
compatibility. Do not exceed the maximum values
specified in the applicable standards. Please use

only a genuine Soehnle Professional power adapter.
The power adapter is not waterproof and therefore
must not come into contact with water. Should the
power adapter become wet or show visible signs of
damage, do not operate the scale with the power
adapter. If you have any problems, contact your local
Soehnle Professional service partner.

The scale is not suitable for persons
with electronic implants (pacemaker,
etc.).

■ Cleaning

It is sufficient to clean the scale using a damp cloth
and a normal cleaning agent. Do not use any scouring
agents.

■ Maintenance

The scale does not require any routine maintenance.
However, we recommend that you check the scale’s
accuracy at regular intervals. The regularity of the­se checks is dependent on the frequency of use
and the condition of the scale. If any inaccuracies
occur, please contact your local dealer or Soehnle
Professional service partner.

■ Note

This appliance corresponds to the valid EU Directive
on interference suppression 89/336/EEC. The display
value may be influenced by extreme electrostatic
and electromagnetic interference, e.g. operation
of a radio unit or a mobile phone in the immediate
vicinity of the appliance. When electrostatic inter-

ference is no longer present, the appliance can
again be used for its intended purpose. You may
need to switch it on again. The appliance is a
measuring instrument. Air currents, vibrations,
rapid changes in temperature and direct sunlight
may have an effect on the accuracy of the scale.
The scale is protected to IP 54 protection class.
Therefore, avoid high levels of air humidity, vapour,
aggressive liquids and heavy soiling.

■ Warranty/liability

If the appliance is delivered with a fault or defect
which is within Soehnle Professional's scope of
responsibility, Soehnle Professional is entitled to
either repair the fault or supply a replacement
appliance. Replaced parts remain the property of
Soehnle Professional. Should the fault repairs or re­placement delivery not be successful, the statutory
provisions shall be valid. The period of warranty
shall be two years starting on the date of purchase.
Please retain your invoice as proof of purchase. If
your scale requires servicing, please contact your
dealer or Soehnle Professional Customer Service.
No responsibility shall be accepted for damage
caused by any of the following reasons: unsuitable
or improper storage or use, incorrect installation or
commissioning by the owner or third parties, natural
wear and tear, changes or modifications, incorrect
or negligent handling, overuse, chemical, electro­chemical or electrical interference or humidity,
unless this is attributable to negligence on the part
of Soehnle Professional. If operating, climatic or
any other influences lead to a major change in
condition or material quality, the warranty for

perfect appliance functioning shall be rendered
null and void. If Soehnle Professional provides an
individual warranty, this means that the appliance
supplied will be free from faults for the warranty
period. Always keep the original packaging in case
you have to return the scale.

■ Disposing of the scale

This product is not to be treated as re­gular household waste, but should be handed in to
an electrical/ electronic equipment recycling centre.
You can obtain further details from your local council,
your municipal waste disposal company or the firm
from which you purchased the product.

■ Factors affecting readings

The analysis is based on a measurement of the
electrical body resistance. Eating and drinking
habits during the day and private lifestyles influence
the body’s fluid balance.
This is noticeable by fluctuations in the readings.
To obtain analysis results that are highly precise and
iterative, make sure that the measurement conditions
are constant. Only then will you be able to observe
changes precisely over a long period of time.

In addition, other factors may affect fluid
balance:

• After a bath the indicator will display a body
fat percentage that is too low and a body water
percentage that is too high

• After a meal the indicator may be higher

• Women are subject to fluctuations due to their
menstrual cycle

• Body fluids are lost due to illness or after bodily
exertion (sport) After sporting activity, you
should wait for a period of 6 to 8 hours before
taking the next measurement

Anomalous or implausible readings may occur
in the following situations:

• Persons with fever, oedema symptoms or
osteoporosis

• Persons undergoing dialysis therapy

• Persons taking cardiovascular medication

• Pregnant women

• Athletes who do more than 10 hours of intensive
training a week and have a resting heart rate
under 60 bpm

• Competitive athletes and body builders

• Young people under 17 years old

■ Getting started

1. Install the fitness scale level on a firm, flat surface

2. Connect the plug-in power supply unit without
standing on the scale

3. Set the clock and date
Please do not stand on the scale. Keep the + or –
Key pressed until the display shows the year.
Press the + or – key to select the required year
and confirm. Select the month by pressing the
+ or – key and confirm. Select the day by pres­sing the + or – key and confirm. The indicator
then shows digits for setting the clock. Adjust
the hour by using the + or – key and confirm.
Do the same with the minutes and finally
confirm.

4. Insert the thermal
paper roll (58mm wide)
in the paper compart­ment (see figure) and
pull out the paper strip
by several centimetres.
Close the lid and tap
the key “7850” briefly
to test whether the paper feeds through cor­rectly. The printer has an easy-load function.
There is no need to feed the paper through
manually.

5. The scale is ready to operate

■ Mass unit switchover

Slide the switch on the rear at any time to switch
over the mass unit from “kg and cm” to “lb and
ft/inch“ or “st/lb and ft/inch”.
The default setting of the scale is “kg and cm".
The last unit setting is retained even when the
appliance is switched off.

■ Battery exchange:

Please change the lithium battery when time
and date settings are not correct anymore (without
power supply of the scale)

■ Weighing

Stand on the scale as still and straight as possible
while the Fitness Scale measures your weight. After
a short period of time, the weight reading appears
and the “INPUT" message flashes. If you only want
to measure your weight, you can step off the scale
now. The weight reading is printed out. Otherwise
continue as described under Body Analysis.

1. Step onto the scale and measure your weight
as described under “Weighing". If “INPUT"
and “H: 170" flash, you can start entering your
personal data.

2. Enter your body size using the keys and
and confirm your input by pressing the key.

6. When the adjacent symbol flashes, immediately
grab the hand electrodes of the body analysis
scale like a steering wheel and hold them
as long as the status bar in the LC display is
running (about 20s).

7. The results are printed out when the measurement
was successful. The personal data you entered
are then deleted afterwards.

When the paper roll is missing, the last
analysis will be saved and printed out as
soon as a paper roll is put in again.

Paper jam: Open the paper compartment and remove the paper roll.
Remove any crumpled paper. Replace the paper roll and pull out the paper
strip by several centimetres.
Close the lid and tap the key “7850" briefly to test whether the paper feeds
through correctly. Printout is printed after clearing the paper jam.

Out of paper: Insert a new paper roll. Insert the thermal paper roll
(58 mm wide) in the paper compartment and pull out the paper strip by
several centimetres. Close the lid and tap the key “7850" briefly to test
whether the paper feeds through correctly. Printout is printed after clearing
the paper jam.

■ Installing “Scale”, your customisation software

This program adapts the printout to your requirements (e.g. company name, web address or simply
a message to say thank you). “Scale” need not be installed on your PC. You can start and operate it easily
from the CD. The only thing you must install in advance is the driver.

■ Applicazione

La bilancia Soehnle Professional fitness 7850
è concepita per l’analisi corporea.
In ambito CE, questa bilancia è prevista per applica­zioni senza obbligo di taratura. Essa soddisfa i
requisiti vigenti previsti dalle direttive CE 89/336/CEE,
EN61000-6-3, EN55014-2, 73/23/CEE.

■ Avvertenze sulla sicurezza

Prima della messa in esercizio dell'apparecchio,
leggere attentamente le informazioni riportate nelle
istruzioni d'uso. Esse contengono importanti avver­tenze circa l'installazione, l'utilizzo secondo le dis­posizioni e la manutenzione dell'apparecchio. Il
costruttore non risponde in caso di inosservanza
delle seguenti avvertenze:
per l’utilizzo di componenti elettrici con elevati
requisiti di sicurezza è necessario rispettare le
relative disposizioni. Gli apparecchi sono concepiti

Rispettare le temperature ambientali consentite

La bilancia non è adatta a persone con
impianti elettronici (pacemaker, ecc.).

■ Pulizia

Per la pulizia è sufficiente utilizzare un panno umido
e un detersivo d'uso commerciale. Non utilizzare
sostanze abrasive.

■ Manutenzione

La bilancia non necessita di una manutenzione di
routine. È tuttavia opportuno controllarne periodi­camente la precisione. La frequenza dipende dall'­impiego e dallo stato della bilancia. In caso di sco­stamenti contattare il rivenditore o il servizio assi­stenza Soehnle Professional.

■ Avvertenza

Il presente apparecchio è schermato in conformità
alla Direttiva CE 89/336/CEE vigente. In presenza
di forti influssi elettrostatici o elettromagnetici, ad
es. in caso di funzionamento di un apparecchio
radio o di un telefono cellulare nelle immediate
vicinanze della bilancia, i valori indicati possono
subire interferenze. Una volta terminata l'inter-

ferenza, il prodotto può essere utilizzato conforme­mente a quanto indicato nelle disposizioni; può
rendersi necessaria la riaccensione. L'apparecchio è
uno strumento di misura. Correnti d'aria, vibrazioni,
bruschi sbalzi di temperatura e l'esposizione al sole
possono interferire con i risultati della pesata.
La bilancia soddisfa il livello di protezione IP 54.
Evitare di esporre la bilancia a elevata umidità,
vapori, liquidi aggressivi e sporco resistente.

■ Garanzia/Responsabilità

Nel caso in cui il prodotto fornito presenti un
difetto attribuibile a Soehnle Professional, l’azienda
si riserva di decidere l’eventuale eliminazione del
difetto oppure la sostituzione del pezzo. Le parti
sostituite diventano proprietà di Soehnle Professional.
Qualora l’eliminazione del difetto o la sostituzione
del pezzo fossero insufficienti, si applicano le dis–
posizioni di legge. Il periodo di garanzia è di due
anni e decorre dal giorno dell'acquisto.
Si consiglia di conservare la ricevuta come prova.
Per esigenze di manutenzione contattare il rivendi­tore o il centro di assistenza Soehnle Professional.
Non viene riconosciuta alcuna garanzia per danni
originati dalle cause seguenti:
stoccaggio o utilizzo inappropriato o scorretto,
montaggio e/o messa in funzione eseguiti
dall'acquirente o da terzi in modo errato, usura
naturale, modifiche o interventi, trattamento errato
o negligente, utilizzo eccessivo, disturbi di tipo
chimico, elettrochimico ed elettrico o dovuti a
umidità, a meno che non siano attribuibili a Soehnle
Professional.

Nel caso in cui disturbi di natura ambientale o cli­matica dovessero portare a significative modifiche
delle condizioni o dello stato dei materiali, la garanzia
relativa al perfetto funzionamento complessivo
dell'apparecchio decade.
La garanzia fornita da Soehnle Professional nel
singolo caso, si riferisce all'assenza di difetti nel
prodotto fornito per la durata del periodo di garanzia.
Conservare l'imballaggio originale per un eventuale
trasporto in restituzione.

■ Smaltimento della bilancia

Questo prodotto non deve essere trattato
come rifiuto normale, ma deve essere
consegnato a un punto di deposito per il
riciclaggio di apparecchiature elettriche
ed elettroniche.
Ulteriori informazioni possono essere richieste al
comune, alle aziende comunali di smaltimento o alla

■ Fattori che influenzano

il risultato di misura

L’analisi si basa sulla misurazione della resistenza
elettrica del corpo umano. Le abitudini alimentari, la
quantità di acqua assunta durante la giornata e lo
stile di vita individuale influiscono sul bilancio idrico.
Per questo motivo i risultati visualizzati sono soggetti
a oscillazioni. Per ottenere un risultato di analisi il
più ripetibile e preciso possibile, cercare di effettuare
la misurazione sempre nelle stesse condizioni in modo
da poter osservare con attenzione eventuali modifiche
in un periodo più prolungato.

Inoltre possono influire sul bilancio idrico anche
altri fattori:

• Dopo un bagno può essere indicata una per­centuale di grasso corporeo troppo bassa e una
percentuale di liquidi corporei troppo elevata.

• Dopo un pasto il risultato della misurazione può
essere più elevata.

• Nelle donne sono possibili oscillazioni dovute
al ciclo mestruale.

• Una malattia o uno sforzo fisico (sport) possono
provocare una perdita di liquidi corporei. Dopo
un’attività sportiva è necessario far trascorre
fino a 6 o 8 ore prima della successiva misura­zione.

Possono presentarsi risultati divergenti o poco
convincenti in:

• Persone con febbre, sintomi edematosi
e osteoporosi.

• Persone con un peso corporeo superiore a 150 kg.

• Persone in dialisi.

• Persone che assumono medicinali cardiovascolari

• Donne in gravidanza.

• Sportivi sottoposti ad allenamenti settimanale
intensivi superiori a 10 ore e che hanno un
battito cardiaco in fase di riposo al di sotto di
60/min.

• Atleti professionisti e body-builder

• Giovani al di sotto dei 17 anni

■ Messa in funzione

1. Posizionare la bilancia Fitness su una superficie
piana e stabile.

2. Collegare l’alimentatore a spina (senza caricare
la bilancia).

3. Impostare ora e data.
Non salire sulla bilancia. Premere il tasto
o finché sul display non compare l’anno.
Con il tasto o selezionare l’anno
desiderato e confermare.
Successivamente premere il tasto per sele­zionare e confermare il mese. Con il tasto
o selezionare il giorno e confermare. Il display
mostra le cifre per l'impostazione dell'ora. Con
il tasto o impostare l'ora e confermare.
Ripetere la procedura per impostare i minuti
e confermare.

4. Inserire il rotolo della
carta termica (larghezza
58 mm) nello scomparto
carta (vedere l'immagine)
ed estrarre la carta di
alcuni centimetri.
Chiudere il coperchio
e premere brevemente
il tasto «7850» per verificare se la carta esce
senza intoppi. La stampante è dotata di una
funzione Easy-Load: non è necessario infilare
la carta.

5. La bilancia è pronta per l’uso.

■ Commutazione di unità

Premendo l’interruttore sul retro è possibile
commutare le unità da «kg e cm» a «lb e ft/inch»
o «st/lb e ft/inch» in qualsiasi momento.
Nell’impostazione di base la bilancia è impostata
su «kg e cm». Le unità impostate successivamente
vengono mantenute anche dopo lo spegnimento.

■ Sostituzione delle batterie

Se in assenza di alimentazione elettrica l’orologio
non funziona più, è necessario sostituire la batteria
al litio.

■ Misurazione del peso

Salire sulla bilancia e restare in silenzio e in posizione
ben eretta mentre la bilancia fitness calcola il peso.
Dopo un breve intervallo di tempo compare il peso
e lampeggia l’indicazione «INPUT». Scendere dalla
bilancia se si desidera misurare solo il peso. Il peso
viene stampato. Altrimenti proseguire come descritto
nel paragrafo «Analisi corporea».

1. Salire sulla bilancia e verificare il peso come
descritto al paragrafo «Misurazione del peso».
Se «INPUT» e «H: 170» lampeggiano, significa si
può procedere all’inserimento dei dati personali.

Quanto siete attivi a livello fisico?
1= fino a 1 ora al giorno 2= fino a 2 ore al giorno
3= fino a 3 ore al giorno 4= fino a 4 ore al giorno
5= più di 4 ore al giorno

6. Se compare il simbolo al lato afferrare subito
gli elettrodi manuali della bilancia di analisi
corporea e tenerli fermi come un volante fino
a quando sul display LCD non scorre la barra
di stato (~ 20 sec.).

7. Se la misurazione è stata eseguita vengono
stampati i risultati. I dati personali inseriti per
la misurazione vengono cancellati.

Se non è stato inserito il rotolo della carta,
l’ultima misurazione di analisi viene memorizzata
e stampata dopo il reinserimento della carta.

La bilancia di analisi corporea può
sopportare al massimo un carico di 180 kg.

PRINT diventa verde: processo di stampa.
PRINT diventa verde e PAPER arancione: carta inceppata o scomparto carta
vuoto.

Carta inceppata: aprire lo scomparto carta e rimuovere il rotolo della carta.
Eventualmente rimuovere la carta accartocciata. Inserire un rotolo di carta
nuovo ed estrarre alcuni cm di carta.
Chiudere il coperchio e premere brevemente il tasto «7850» per verificare
se la carta esce senza intoppi. La stampa si avvia non appena viene rimossa
la carta inceppata.

Scomparto carta vuoto: Inserire un nuovo rotolo di carta. Inserire il rotolo di
carta termica (larghezza 58 mm) nello scomparto carta ed estrarre la carta
di alcuni centimetri. Chiudere il coperchio e premere brevemente il tasto

■ Installazione di «Scale», il software di personalizzazione

Con questo programma è possibile personalizzare la stampa (ad es. con il nome dell'azienda, il proprio
indirizzo internet o semplicemente con un grazie). Non è richiesta l’installazione di «Scale» sul proprio pc.
È possibile avviarlo e utilizzarlo direttamente dal CD. In precedenza è necessario installare solo il driver.

Le istruzioni per l’installazione del driver sono disponibili nella guida separata presente sul CD.
