Please read the instructions carefully before use.
If you have any questions or if you have problems with your device that are not covered in the instructions
for use, please contact your Soehnle Industrial Solutions service centre or our customer service:

2.1 Installing the scale elements
The indicator must be installed in such a way that it can be
easily disconnected from the mains.
Insert the batteries in all four load receptors. As soon as the
batteries are inserted, the load receptors start to transmit and
try to establish a radio connection to the display unit.
Attention (Fig. 1- 4 right):
Before switching on the balance, place the load receptors under
the 4 wheels of the hospital bed. Place the load receptor under
the wheels as far as it will go. Press the lever down and lift the
bed wheel. (The load receptors are designed to take wheel
diameters of 130-160 mm! Smaller diameters optional.
Due to its design, the scale may only be used on level oors.
For installation sites in Germany this is fullled if the oors
comply with the tolerances for surface-ready oors according to
DIN 18202, table 3, line 4.
For other countries, the respective applicable national standards
can be used as a basis.
2.2 Switch on / switch off
Switch the display unit on or off using the ON/OFF button.
„SOEHNLE PROFESSIONAL“ appears in the display together with a search
symbol until the radio connection to the load receptors is established. This
usually takes 20-60 seconds.
As soon as the radio connection to the load receptors is established, the current
gross weight value appears in the display.
Please ensure that the socket is freely accessible.
2.3 Radio contact
The Bluetooth radio connection works over a maximum distance of 5 m if there is no partition between
the load receptor and the display unit. After brief interruptions (e.g. replacement of a battery or loss of
contact of a battery due to vibration), the connection is automatically re-established within a few
seconds.
The following symbol appears during connection setup:

2.4 Switching off / ending operation safely
Press the ON/OFF key to switch the unit off. By unplugging the mains plug from
the socket, the device is disconnected from the mains on all poles.
Operation is thus safely terminated.
If the sensors are loaded or if you have called up a menu, the balance only
switches off after 5 seconds by pressing the ON/OFF key.
It is not possible to switch off the balance while it is waiting for an entry in the
editing area of the setting mode. To switch off, the editing area must be left.
The load receptors have no on/off switch, they are switched off by removing the
batteries.
OFF indicator
If the balance is switched off, but the power supply remains on, „OFF“ appears in
the display.
2.5 Charging the batteries
Open the lid of the battery charging station.
There are four charging bays for simultaneous charging of four batteries.
The four LEDs indicate the charge status of each battery.
The fth LED on the charging station is the mains indicator of the charger.

state by ashing (mainly off).
Charging time for empty batteries is approx. 4 hours.
Batteries should be charged and replaced in sets.

2. Starting up
The batteries can remain in the charging station for any time.
Display of the connection status:
Press the INFO key + 1. The following will then appear, for example, in the
display:
Battery life:
The capacity of the batteries is sufcient for approx. 12 hours of continuous
operation.
If the balance is mainly switched off (90% OFF), the batteries can remain in the
load receptors for up to 125 hours before they have to be charged.
Attention: Even when the display unit is switched off, the Bluetooth connection
is regularly activated, which is why the batteries are also discharged in this state
and must be recharged after 125 hours at the latest.
Recommendation:
After switching off the display unit, always remove the batteries from the load
receptor and place them in the battery box or charging station. This ensures that
the balance works reliably when it is put back into operation.
If the bed scale is not used, the batteries must be removed from the load
receptors to prevent deep discharge. Eight batteries are included.

Input procedure
Numeric elds: The digits 0 to 9 can be entered directly using the KEYPAD. The entry is right-aligned. A
cursor ashes under the last digit entered. The C key deletes the digit marked with the cursor. The
NULLSTELL key cancels the entry without accepting new input values, existing values are retained. The
ENTER key accepts the entered value and switches back to the application program.
The specication of whether point, decimal point or no decimal separation is made in the setting mode
(Setting mode > Terminal > Display > Decimal separation, see page 14). The input eld can only be
described up to the specied number of characters, further input is not displayed and is not accepted.
Alphanumeric elds: The number keys are also assigned to letters (uppercase only) and characters in
multiple assignment. The o (zero) key is followed, for example, by +, - and the space character. In
addition, the SPECIAL CHARACTER button is available.
If a number key is pressed again within one second after it has been pressed, the characters assigned
to the key are activated on a rolling basis. If no further key is pressed within one second, the called
character is accepted and the cursor moves one position further.
Pure numerical entries can be made directly one after the other without waiting time, as long as a
number is not entered several times in succession. A cursor ashes under the position to be entered.
Use the F key and the TARE key to move the cursor left and right. The C key deletes the last character to
the left of the cursor or the character under which the cursor is ashing.
The ZEROING key cancels the entry without accepting new input values, existing values are retained.
The ENTER key accepts the entered value and switches back to the application program. The input eld
can only be described up to the specied number of characters, further input overwrites the last
character.
3.3 Display screen
The display shows different views depending on the situation.
It is divided into the following display elds:

than 50% of the max. weighing range. This tares the empty bed and the weight display goes to zero.
5.2 Manual zeroing
Manual zeroing corrects small deviations from the zero point, e.g. due to dirt on
the balance. The following character appears in the toolbar when zero is
displayed: >0<.
Zero setting range not veriable: -1 to +3% of the weighing range.
If zeroing is not possible, the error message „Above zero range“ or „Below zero
range“ appears for two seconds.
5.3 x10 (times 10)-Display
Displays the weight value with a further decimal in 10 times higher resolution.
Press the ENTER and then the ZERO button simultaneously to switch to the x10
display.
As long as the 10 times higher display is selected, x10 appears in the toolbar.
The function is deactivated when the unit is switched off.

display unit must not get wet.
This device is interference suppressed in accordance with the applicable EC Directive 2004/108/EC.
However, under extreme electrostatic and electromagnetic inuences, e.g. when operating a radio or
mobile phone in the immediate vicinity of the device, the display value may be affected. At the end of the
disturbance, the product can be used again as intended; it may have to be switched on again. In case of
permanent electrostatic interference, please contact the responsible service partner.
The instrument is a measuring instrument. Drafts, vibrations, rapid temperature changes
and solar radiation can inuence the weighing result.
The scale complies with protection class IPX2 and must not be exposed to high humidity, vapours,
aggressive liquids or heavy soiling.
Improper installation will void the warranty. Electrical connection conditions must correspond to the
values printed on the power supply unit. The devices are designed for operation in buildings. Observe the
permissible ambient temperatures for operation (see Technical Data). The device meets the require-
ments for electromagnetic compatibility. Exceeding the maximum values specied in the standards
must be avoided. If used as directed, there is no risk of other devices being affected by this product. In
