INSTALLATION
• The appliance must be handled and installed by two or more persons.
• Be careful not to damage the floors (e.g. parquet) when moving the appliance.
• During installation, make sure the appliance does not damage the power cable.
• Make sure the appliance is not near a heat source.
• To guarantee adequate ventilation, leave a space on both sides and above the appliance and follow the installation instructions.
• Keep the appliance ventilation openings free.
• Do not damage the appliance refrigerant circuit pipes.
• Install and level the appliance on a floor strong enough to take its weight and in a place suitable for its size and use.
• Install the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated place. The appliance is arranged for operation in places where the temperature comes within the following ranges, according to the climatic class given on the rating plate. The appliance may not work properly if it is left for a long time at a temperature outside the specified range.
• Make sure the voltage specified on the rating plate corresponds to that of your home.
• Do not use single/multi adapters or extension cords.
• For the water connection, use the pipe supplied with the new appliance; do not reuse that of the previous appliance.
• Power cable modification or replacement must only be carried out by qualified personnel.
• It must be possible to disconnect the appliance from the power supply by unplugging it or by means of a mains two-pole switch installed upstream of the socket.
SAFETY
• Do not store or use petrol, flammable liquids or gas in the vicinity of this or other electrical appliances. The fumes can cause fires or explosions.
• Do not use mechanical, electric or chemical means other than those recommended by the Manufacturer to speed up the defrost process.
• Do not use or place electrical devices inside the appliance compartments if they are not of the type expressly authorised by the Manufacturer.

USE
• Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning operation, unplug the appliance or disconnect it from the power supply.
• All appliances equipped with an automatic icemaker and water dispenser must be connected to a water supply that only delivers drinking water (with mains water pressure of between
0.17 and 0.81 Mpa (1.7 and 8.1 bar)). Automatic ice-makers and/or water dispensers not directly connected to the water supply must be filled with drinking water only.
• Use the refrigerator compartment only for storing fresh food and the freezer compartment only for storing frozen food, freezing fresh food and making ice cubes.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
21
• Install the appliance away from heat sources. Direct exposure to sunlight or installation near heat sources (radiators, cookers) will increase energy consumption and should therefore be avoided. If this is not possible, the following minimum distances must be respected:
- 30 cm from coal or oil stoves;
- 3 cm from electric and/or gas cookers.
• Clean the inside (refer to “Maintenance and cleaning”).
• Insert or install the accessories/parts supplied.
INSTALLATION
This appliance is a refrigerator combined with a
star rating electronically controlled freezer. It therefore allows separate adjustment of the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer compartment. The NO FROST freezer compartment enables perfect freezing of fresh and cooked food, the production of ice cubes and storing of frozen and deep frozen food. Defrosting is automatic. The refrigerator compartment, equipped with automatic defrost, enables the storage of fresh food and beverages. Optimum performance depends on the climatic class indicated on the rating plate.
“Vacation" Option
The electronic control allows the freezer compartment to be left on with the refrigerator compartment switched off. To activate this function, with the appliance on, press the button (5) for 3 seconds until the refrigerator compartment display (7) goes off and the green light (6) comes on; the freezer display (4) will remain on. For technical reasons, the freezer compartment cannot be switched off with only the refrigerator compartment switched on.
Switching off the appliance (refrigerator and freezer)
Press the button (1) for 3 seconds. In this way the appliance switches off, although remaining powered. The inside light and all the LEDs on the control panel will go off, except for the Vacation light (6) and the displays (4) and (7), which will show: “- -" “- -". To reactivate the appliance operation, press the same button again for 3 seconds.
Control panel lock
To avoid accidental selections (keys pressed by contact with packets and/or food, or by children), the control panel can be locked by pressing the keys (8) and (9) at the same time for 3 seconds. An acoustic signal will indicate activation of the function. With the “Control Panel Lock" function activated, the entire control panel will be locked except for the Acoustic Alarm key (11). An acoustic signal will sound and the message “CL" will appear on (4) and (7) display whenever and for the entire time the key is pressed. To unlock the control panel, proceed as above, pressing the same keys at the same time for 3 seconds.

Switching the appliance on and temperature adjustment
Switch the power to the appliance on. If you have purchased a model with antibacterial filter, the filter should be fitted in place now. (refer to “Maintenance and cleaning" of the appliance). The ideal temperatures for preserving foods are already factory set. When the appliance is switched on for the first time, the acoustic signal sounds and the red light (10) flashes, indicating that the temperature inside the freezer is still not cold enough for introducing food. The acoustic signal can be deactivated by pressing the button (11) on the control panel. Place food in the freezer only when the red alarm light has gone off.
Note:
• 4-5 hours are required for the refrigerator compartment to reach
a temperature suitable for storage.
• Ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and position of
the appliance can affect the temperature inside the two compartments. These factors should be taken into account when setting the thermostat position.
• The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the
refrigerator ensures the free circulation of air.
• Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the
refrigerator compartment.
• Do not place hot food in the compartments.
• Store liquids in closed containers.
• Storing vegetables with high water content can cause
condensation to form: this does not affect correct appliance operation.
Storing food in the refrigerator compartment
Place the food as shown in the figure.
1. Cooked food
2. Fish, meat
3. Fruit & vegetables
4. Bottles
5. Butter
6. Dairy products, cheese
Temperature adjustment
The temperature is factory set to +5°C (display 7). To change the temperature setting, press the buttons (8) or (9) on the control panel, until the required value is obtained. Settable temperature limit:
• +2 °C coldest temperature
• +8 °C warmest temperature
USING THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT
Switching the refrigerator off (Vacation)
Press the button (5) for more than 3 seconds. The temperature shown on the display (7) goes off and the green light (6) comes on. To reactivate the refrigerator operation, press the same button (5) for more than 3 seconds.
Refrigerator compartment alarms
The acoustic alarm is activated when the door has been left open for more than 1 minute. If the door is left open for another minute, the inside light will start flashing and will switch off after the door has been open for 10 minutes, whereas the acoustic alarm will remain activated. Pressing the Acoustic Alarm button (11) will only silence the acoustic signal, whereas the inside light will continue to behave as described above. To completely deactivate the door open alarm, close the refrigerator door.
