IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

• The user must not leave the iron unattended while connected to the supply.

• The plug of the supply cord must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water reservoir is filled with water.

• The iron shall be used on a stable ironing board.

• The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.

• When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

• The iron shall not be used if the iron has been dropped at any time, or if there are visible signs of damage or if the iron is leaking. The iron shall be sent to the manufacturer or his qualified service agent before further use.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

HINTS BEFORE FIRST USE

• Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron might smoke slightly when switched ‘ON’ for the first time. After a short while, this will cease.

• Before using for the first time remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate with a soft cloth.

• Keep the soleplate smooth: do not scratch against metal objects (e.g. rack of ironing board, buttons, zippers)

• Pure woolen fabrics (100% wool) may be pressed with the iron set to a steam position. Preferably select steam selector position and use a dry pressing cloth.

SETTING THE TEMPERATURE

• Always check first to see whether ironing instructions are attached to the article to be ironed (they can be found on a label showing a drawing of an iron. The numbers of dots indicate the correct temperature. Refer to the indications on the temperature dial and in the table below). Follow these ironing instructions in all cases.

• If ironing instructions are missing but you do know the kind of fabric, then see the below. The table is valid for the actual materials and do not concern any applied finish, gloss etc.

• Textile to which some kind of finish has been applied (gloss, wrinkle relief etc.) can best be ironed on somewhat lower temperatures.

• Sort the fabrics out according to ironing temperature first: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. The iron heats up quicker than it cool downs. Therefore, start ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of synthetic fibres. Then progress to higher ones.

• Turn the temperature control knob round until it is opposite the setting pointer.

HOW TO FILL WITH WATER

• Remove the plug from the stock

• Fill the water through the filling opening into the water tank.

• If the water is very hard, it is advised to use distilled water or demineralized water only. Do not use chemically descaled water.

• Pour out the remaining water after use.

SURGESTEAM IRONING

The surge-of-steam feature provides powerful steam for removing stubborn wrinkles.

• Fill the iron with water as described in “How to fill with water”.

• Plug iron into electrical outlet.

• As indicated on the temperature control knob, steam ironing is only possible at higher temperature setting indicated with ‘MAX’ mark, otherwise the water will leak from the soleplate.

• Turn the temperature control knob to the position according to the fabric being ironed as described in point 4 of ‘Setting the temperature’

• The indicator light will turn ‘OFF’ when the indicated setting reaches the correct temperature.

• Press the Steam jet button to release the surge-of-steam. Pressing the button several times may be necessary to prime the surge system..

• Wait a few seconds for the steam to penetrate the fabric before pressing the button again for more steam.

• NOTE: For optimum steam quality, do not apply more than four successive ‘SHOT’ after the indicator light goes off.

CLEAN & MAINTENANCE

• Please unplug the iron and allow to cool the heating plate when carry out the maintenance.

• Warning: To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or any other liquid.

ANTI-DRIP:

• This iron is equipped with a drip stop function: the iron automatically stops steaming when the temperature is too low to prevent water from dripping out of the soleplate.

SELF CLEAN

• The function of self clean is to clean the soleplate when you use this iron about half of year.

You must be:

1. Fill the iron and plug in;

2. When the temperature attaches “MAX”, press the self clean-Button for about 1 minute;

3. Plug into power in order to dry the water in soleplate off

4. Conduct self cleaning only with a basin to collect all water. Otherwise the hot water

will be spilled maybe over the user.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ IMPORTANTES

Lorsque vous utilisez les appareils électriques, vous devez absolument considérer les précautions principales de sécurité citées ci-dessous : LISEZ LES INSTRUCTIONS EN ENTIER

• Ne vous absentez jamais lorsque le fer est branché à la prise.

• Débranchez absolument la fiche du cordon d’alimentation avant de ne remplir le réservoir d’eau.

• Le fer doit être utilisé sur une planche à repasser équilibrée.

• Le fer doit être utilisé et laissé sur une surface équilibrée.

• Lorsque vous apposez le fer à repasser sur une surface, assurez-vous que la surface est équilibrée.

• En cas de dysfonctionnement du cordon d’alimentation, afin d’éviter les dangers de choc électrique ; le cordon doit être remplacé par le fabricant, l’autorisé de service ou une personne similaire autorisée.

• Dans le cas où le fer tombe parterre ou dans un cas de dommage visible ou de suintement, le fer ne doit absolument pas être utilisé. En pareil cas, il convient de consulter le centre de service agréé avant de continuer à utiliser le fer.

À FAIRE AVANT LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION

• Étant donné que certaines parties du fer peuvent être couvertes d’huile, il se peut qu’un peu de fumée se dégage lors du premier fonctionnement. Cette situation va disparaître dans une courte duré.

• Avant toute utilisation de l’appareil, retirez l’étiquette ou la couche protectrice se trouvant sur la plaque de semelle et essuyez la semelle à l’aide d’un chiffon doux.

• Assurez que la semelle soit lisse : ne la permettez pas se frotter aux matières en métal. (ex: la poignée de la planche à repasser, les boutons, les fermetures éclair)

• Les textiles en laine pure (100 % laine) doivent être repassés avec la méthode à vapeur. Vous pouvez utiliser le fer à repasser aussi sans vapeur en changeant la position du bouton de réglage de vapeur.

RÉGLAGE DE TEMPÉRATURE

• Regardez les instructions de repassage se trouvant sur l’étiquette du textile à repasser (est indiqué avec un signe de fer sur l’étiquette, le nombre des points qui se trouvent sur le signe de fer indique la bonne température. Prenez en considération le bouton de réglage de température et les renseignements fournis sur le tableau ci-dessous). Considérez absolument cette instruction de repassage.

• Si aucune instruction de repassage n’existe et que vous ne connaissez pas le type de textile, appliquez les renseignements ci-dessous. Le tableau est uniquement destiné au matériel du textile et ne considère pas les lustrages, les broderies, etc. appliqués sur le textile.

• La meilleure méthode pour les textiles contenant des broderies, des plis ou des lustres dessus, est de repasser à de basses températures.

• Séparez d’abord les textiles selon leurs températures de repassage: Repassez les laines à part et les cotons à part. L’échauffement du fer se réalise plus rapidement que le refroidissement. De ce fait, repasser d’abord les textiles demandant les plus basses températures comme par exemples les textiles à fibres synthétiques. Passez ensuite aux textiles demandant des températures plus élevées.

• Tournez le bouton de réglage de température de façon à ce que la partie marquée vienne sur le choix concerné.
