doormanufacturers.TheTV80alsogeneratestimestampeddataleswithalltherelevant
informationappreciatedbyscientists.Whiledisplayingthedataprovidedbythesensors
onyourgear,theTV80alsocalculatesadditionaldatabasedontheinformationfromthe
catchmonitoringandnavigationsensors.

IntheTV80,thepresentationofsensordataisorganizedinviews.Theviewsprovideyou
withtheinformationyouneedtocontrolthefunctionalityandtheoperationalparameters.
IntheTV80,youcanuseamaximumoffourviewssimultaneously.Ifyouuselessthan
fourviews,youcanchoosetheirlayoutaccordingtoyouroperationalrequirementsor
personalpreferences.

Thequalityoftheacousticcommunicationlinkbetweenthesensorsandthereceivercanbe
challengedbynoise.Whennoiseappearsinthesamefrequencyrangeasthesensorsare
usingfortheircommunication,theresultinginformationmaybeunstableorunreadable.
TheTV80offersaspectrumanalyserthatshowsyouthesignalsfromeachhydrophone.
ThegraphintheSpectrumdialogboxprovidesyouwithinformationaboutthebackground
noiseandthesignalstrengthintheselectedfrequencyband.Withthisinformationyoucan
identifynoiseandndthe"cleanest"frequencies.

EquipmentmanufacturedbyKongsbergMaritimeisfrequentlyconnectedtothevessel's
localareanetwork(LAN).Whenyouconnectacomputertoalocalareanetworkyouwill
alwaysexposethedataonthatcomputer.Allothercomputersconnectedtothesame
networkmaybeabletoaccessyourdata.Severalthreatsmayimmediatelyoccur:
• Remotecomputerscanreadthedata.
• Remotecomputerscanchangethedata.
• Remotecomputerscanchangethebehaviourofthecomputer,forexamplebyinstalling
unwantedsoftware.
Usually,twoparametersareusedtodenethethreatlevel:
1 Thelikelihoodthatanyremoteconnectionwilldoanyoftheabove.
2 Thedamagedoneifaremoteconnectionsucceedsdoingthis.
