1. Get to know your Silk’n Reveal
Silk’n Reveal is an electrical device. As such, it should be used with special attention to safety. Before using the device for the rst time, be sure to read all warnings, contraindications and safety precautions. It is important that you read and understand the instructions on how to use the device including after-use procedures, and follow them strictly. We recommend you re-familiarise yourself with the instructions in this manual before each treatment. You can also go to www.silkn.com to watch a short video on how to get the very best from your Silk’n Reveal.

1.2 Device description
Silk’n Reveal is an over the counter device intended for self-treatment in the home. The device exfoliates the skin’s upper layer to freshen and cleanse your skin. Refer to the diagram at the front of this manual to see the location of each feature.

Together, the dual technologies of microdermabrasion exfoliation and vacuum stimulation both cleanse your skin and improve your skin tone.
Microdermabrasion exfoliation
Provides gentle, non-abrasive exfoliation to allow for smoother, fresher
skin.
Helps improve skin tone, texture and elasticity.

Helps reduce the appearance of age spots, ne lines around the eyes,
and acne scars.
Vacuum stimulation
Helps stimulate for smoother, more youthful looking skin. Collects the dead skin cells for disposal.
1.3 Intended use
Silk’n Reveal is a home device for the self-treatment of:

Do not use for any purpose other than as described in this manual.
2. Contraindications & warnings
Be sure to read this section carefully and take note of the warnings and contraindications.

This device must not be used by: children, people under the age of 16, those with limited physical, sensory or psychological capacities, or people lacking experience or knowledge in how to use the device. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

Do not use Silk’n Reveal if you have:

Rosacea.
E
Poorly controlled endocrine disorders, such as diabetes and thyroid conditions.
E
Abnormal skin conditions caused by diabetes, systemic or other metabolic diseases.
E
Received radiation therapy or chemotherapy treatments within the past 3 months, or have areas of potential skin malignancies.
E
Used physician-prescribed drugs on your skin within the past 6 months.
E
Any other condition which, in the opinion of your physician or dermatologist, would make it unsafe for you to be treated.
Do not treat areas that have:

Active eczema, psoriasis, lesions, open wounds or infections (cold sores), moles or warts, abnormal skin conditions caused by systemic or metabolic diseases (diabetes for example).
E
A history of herpes outbreaks.
E

Had recent exposure to the sun without protection (wait 1 day) ; for tanned or sunburnt skin, wait 7 days.
Additional warnings

Do not use on nipples or genitals.

Recommended use is no more than twice a week.

Use the low suction mode if you experience any discomfort.

Stop use immediately if your skin is very red.

Remove all jewelry before treatments.

Try not to expose recently treated areas of skin to sunlight. Be sure to apply sunscreen SPF 30 or higher when out in the sun.

Always ensure that your hands and skin are dry before operating the device or touching the adapter plug.
A
Keep your device away from water or liquids! Do not use near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. Do not place or store the device where it can fall, be pushed or placed anywhere near water or any other liquid. There is a risk of electrocution. Unplug immediately if the device comes into contact with any uids, and contact Customer Service.
A
Never leave the device unattended when plugged into an outlet. Keep the AC/DC adapter accessible at all times, so it can be removed from the socket easily in case of emergency. Unplug the device immediately after use.

Do not carry the device by the AC/DC adapter cable.

If the device malfunctions, unplug immediately.
E
Do not attempt to modify, open or repair your device. You may expose yourself to dangerous electrical components and may cause serious harm to yourself.

3. Do not use Silk’n Reveal if:
The adapter, attachments or accessories for this device are not
recommended by Home Skinovations Ltd.
The device has a damaged cable or plug. Keep the power cable away
from heated surfaces.
You see or smell smoke when it is in use.
The treatment surface, or device casing is cracked or coming
apart.
The device is not working or appears to be damaged in any other way.
In such cases, contact Silk’n Customer Service.
4. What to expect with Silk’n Reveal
During a treatment session it is normal to experience or feel:
A humming sound from the device: This is the suction pump
working.
Some slight redness of the skin: This should subside within a few
hours, or up to one day.

Stop use immediately if your skin is very red.
E
Contact your physician, if you experience any complications.

5. Possible side eects
If you follow the instructions fully and pay attention to all warnings and contraindications, complications and side eects are uncommon. All cosmetic procedures, including those designed for home use, involve some degree of risk. Therefore, it is important that you understand and accept the risks and complications that may occur.
Skin redness
You may e xperie nce d ilatio n of the su percial blood capillaries. This may result in some redness for a few days. Additionally, some capillaries may present red spots that will also subside with time. In such cases, immediately cool the area with cold water.
Bruising
You may experience slight bruising which should disappear after 2-3 days.
Consult your physician if you experience any persistent symptoms.
6. Before your rst treatment
To u s e yo u r S il k ’n R ev ea l, f ol lo w th es e st ep s:
1. Remove the device and other components from the box.
2. Plug the adapter cable into the device socket and plug the adapter into an electrical outlet.
3. Read the rest of this section for information on treatment areas, the treatment plan, and when to use the ne and coarse treatment tips.

6.1 Treatment areas
We recommend that you start with the low suction mode, and move to the high mode after a few uses. If you have any discomfort, work the treatment area in low suction mode.
Treatment area Recommendations
Forehead, cheeks and chin
Move the device over your skin from the center
outwards and towards the hairline.
Eyes and nose
Use short upward strokes for the area around
your eyebrows. Avoid the eyelids.
For the nose area, use straight downward strokes following the curve of the nose and the contour of the cheekbones.
Neck
Use smooth, downward strokes and work the whole of the neck area.
6.2 Treatment Plan
To st ar t w it h , y ou s ho u ld o nly pa ss t he treatment tip over the same
patch of skin 2-4 times. When your skin is used to the treatment, you may increase the number of times to 4-6.
We recommend you do not use the device more than once a week.

6.3 Silk’n Reveal’s Fine and Coarse treatment tips
The device has two treatment tips, marked ‘Fine’ or ‘Coarse’. We recommend that you start with the Fin e tr eatm ent tip.
Use the Fine treatment tip for general treatment or delicate nishing. Use the Coarse treatment tip for heavy duty exfoliation.
To c h an ge t re a tm e nt t ip s:
1. Make sure the device is not connected to an electrical outlet.
2. Remove the current treatment tip (#1) from the device by gripping and pulling it, then replace with the other treatment tip. Make sure the treatment tip is rmly in place before use. You will hear a click so you know it’s in place.
7. Get started!
You're on your way to fresher, smoother skin! Treating with Silk’n Reveal is easy. Just follow these steps for each area you wish to treat. Each treatment should take about 5 minutes.
7.1 Recommended precautions
Before you treat an area for the rst time, do a spot test on a small area
of skin and then wait 24 hours. If you have no adverse reaction, go ahead and treat that area.
Use the low suction mode for your rst 2-3 treatments. Stop immediately if you feel any discomfort.

7.2 Treatment steps
1. Make sure your skin is clean, dry and free from powder, cream or gel.
2. Make sure that the rubber cap (#2), filter (#3), and treatment tip (#1) are
rmly in place. For your rst few treatments, be sure to use the Fin e treatment tip.
3. Press the control button (#4) to turn on the device. Your Silk’n Reveal is ready for use in low suction mode.
4. Apply the treatment tip rmly to your skin so that you feel the suction.
5. Work each area as recommended in section “6.1 Treatment areas”.

7. To sw it ch o the device after t reatment, shor t press the control button once or twice, depending on which suction mode you are in.
8. Unplug the device and store it in its original box. Please refer to section “8. Maintenance”.
7.3 After treatment
Try not to expose recently treated areas of skin to sunlight. Be sure to
apply sunscreen SPF 30 or higher when out in the sun.

8. Maintenance
It is important to clean your Silk’n Reveal device and store it properly after each treatment.

First, unplug the device.
L
To clean the device, wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Never use acetone or other abrasive uids, because they will damage your device.

To c le an the treatment tip, rst remove it from the device, wash with soap and water, then dry thoroughly.

To cle an the lter, rst remove it from the device, brush away any debris using a soft brush, and place it back on the device.

After cleaning, we recommend you store the device in its original box.

With the exception of the treatment tips, never immerse your Silk’n
Reveal in water.
8.1 Replacing the lter
The filter needs cleaning or replacing due to the build-up of discarded skin. We recommend that you do this every few treatments.
To r epl ac e t he lter:
1. Remove the treatment tip from the device . You will then see the rubber cap and the small black filter.
2. Remove the rubber cap (#2), and then remove the filter (#3).
3. To c l ea n t h e filter, brush o any debris, then place it back on the device. To change a filter, remove the current filter and insert a new one.
4. Place the rubber cap back into position, then put the treatment tip back on the device, making sure that it is rmly connected.
8.2 Replacing the treatment tip and rubber cap
We recommend that you replace the treatment tip every 12 months. There is no particular need to replace the rubber cap.

10. Troubleshooting
Do not attempt to open or repair your Silk’n Reveal. You may expose yourself to dangerous electrical components and cause serious harm to yourself. It will also void your warranty.
Problem Checks
My device does not
start.
Make sure the adapter is properly connected to the device, that it is plugged into an electrical outlet, and that you have pressed the control button.
I don't feel any suction when the device touches my skin.
Make sure the device is on, and check that the lter, rubber cap and treatment tip are placed on the device correctly.

Only authorized personnel are permitted to perform repairs. For
problems or queries, please contact Silk'n Customer Service.

If the device fails, unplug immediately.
