SIG522 SIGHT KIT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This instruction sheet is designed to assist you in the installation of the SIG522 Sight Kit. Please read these
instructions and familiarize yourself with the parts and tools required to perform the required steps. Refer to your
owner’s manual as you carry out the procedure. If you have any doubts about your ability to perform this task
you should return the rifle to SIG SAUER for installation or seek the help of a qualified gunsmith. Refer to page 48
of your owner’s manual for information in regards to returning the rifle to SIG SAUER Inc.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE SIGHT KIT ON A LOADED RIFLE.
To verify the rifle is not loaded, with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction (1) ensure the safety lever is in the
safe position; (2) remove the magazine; (3) pull the charging handle to the rear and lock the bolt open using the
bolt stop lever; (4) visually and physically verify the chamber is empty; (5) allow the bolt to close on the empty
chamber. See section (5.0) of the SIG522 owner’s manual for additional safety information.

Rear Sight Assembly
Installation of the Front Sight assembly.
1. Drive out the dovetail plug from the gas block (if present).
2. Apply a light coat of lubricant to the dovetail of the hooded front sight
and with a non-marring hammer start tapping the sight into the dovetail
of the gas block from the left side of the gas block.
Note: The right side of the sight dovetail has lead in chamfers to aid
in starting the sight into the dovetail on the gas block!
3. Make sure the sight is straight and not angled as you start it into the
dovetail slot.
4. Use a punch with a diameter large enough to cover the windage screw
hole in the front sight and drive it in until it is flush with the left side of
the gas block.

5. Apply a small amount of lubricant to the threads of the Sight Screw.
Insert the sight screw into the front sight from the left side and thread it
into the sight nut using a 4mm hex wrench.
6. Align the hole in the sight nut with a 1/16” punch and tighten until the
sight is centered.
7. Insert the sight screw pin into the sight screw hole leaving the 1/16”
punch as a guide.
8. Drive the pin in using a 3/32”roll pin punch.
9. Check the sight for proper movement.

Installation of the Rear Sight onto SIG522 upper receiver.
1. Remove the two (2) mounting screws on the base of the rear sight
using a 3mm hex wrench.
2. From the rear of the M1913 receiver rail, slide the sight on to the rail
aligning it with the last two slots in the rail.
3. Insert the clamping screws from left to right and tighten them snug
plus ¼ turn with the 3mm hex wrench.
4. Adjustments can be made by loosening the appropriate screws with
a small straight blade screwdriver and moving the sight aperture.
