MEASURE TO IMPROVE THE PHOTOCONDUCTOR DRUM AND CORRECTION OF FILM DECREMENTS.

1.Model Name: SD-4085

2.General: The surface film of the photoconductor drum has been made more durable. This action

has been carried out as a measure to improve the performance of the photoconductor drum. In accordance with this action, a change has also been carried out in the process control correction values for the film decrements. (Please refer to ‘‘4-7 Correction Operations’’ in the service manual for details concerning ‘‘Film Decrements.’’)

3.Description: Test command 59 (Film Decrements Correction Values) has been newly established,

and therefore it is necessary to set the values for the type of photoconductor drum (New/Old).

Old drum: T. C. 59 = 100 New drum: T. C. 59 = 127

The ROM for test command 59, which has been newly established (the change has been carried out for machines which have been manufactured after 1997 July production lots).

4.Distinction: A change has been carried out in the color of the lot numbers.

Location: the inner surface of the drums. Color: Old drum = white

New drum = blue Some of New drums which have been manufactured after 1997 November, a red mark has been placed at the end of the number on a white seal.

5.Action: Option parts (for machines bound for all destinations): from 1997 November production.
