IRREGULAR NOISE CAUSED BY THE DV GEAR ONE-WAY CLUTCH DAMAGE

1.General: Wear in the 12T DV gear boss contaminates the one-way clutch of the DV gear which locks and causes to damage the boss of the DV frame 80R. To prevent this, the surface treatment of the DV frame 80R boss is changed from manganese phosphate to electroless nickel plating.

2.Phenomenon: Irregular noise generation from within the DV unit.

3.Action: (Factory action)

• The DV frame 80R boss is surface finished with a new method as beginning from

October, 1991.

• The same applies to the color DV unit boss as beginning from October, 1991.

4.Note: (Identification of the new boss from the old boss)

DV idle boss A (With the new surface treatment)

DV idle boss B (With the new surface treatment)

The color of the boss changed from black to siver.

With this change in the suface treatment, a new parts code is issued for the DV unit.
