ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS LCD TVs

Sharp takes their commitment to the environment one step further
with their Kameyama, Japan plant, an environmentally-friendly LCD TV
factory. Kameyama features one of the world’s largest roof mounted
solar electric systems. Waste heat is recovered for air conditioning,
with the co-generation system producing about one-third of the
electricity utilized in the plant. This keeps CO

2

emissions lower than
if the plant relied on thermally generated power. And all of the plant’s
production wastewater is recovered, purifi ed and reused.
