System Expansion Guidelines to connect the SP 230 to:
1. A second SP 230
- Switch one SP 230 to ”slave” position, then
- CBL 1015 75 coax plus 2 cable, 18 AWG, 100' or
- Plug Mains cable into 110 V AC wall outlet and connect RF signal with RG 58 coax cable
using BNC connectors or barrier strip
2. SZI 1015 Emitter
- CBL 1015 75 coax plus 2 cable, 18 AWG, 100' *
3. SZI 1029
- RG 58 coax cable with BNC to BNC
- Plug Mains cable into 110 V AC wall outlet
* Note: For runs longer than 100', use heavier gauge

SP 230
The compact, portable SP 230 is a two-channel self-contained modulator/emitter in one unit that operates at higher sub-carrier frequencies thus avoiding interference from uorescent lighting.
It is especially well-suited to medium sized conferences and meeting room applications, as it can be set up easily on a podium or microphone stand and requires only the simple connection of a microphone, tape recorder (or similar audio source), and a wall outlet. It can remotely power one SZI 1015 medium area emitter panel for up to 4,000/2,000 sq. ft. of additional coverage (single-/two-channel mode).

SP 230
The system must consist of a two channel wideband modulator capable of switching between channel one at 2.3 MHz; channel two at 2.8 MHz; or stereo; and, an emitter with an array of 72 diodes providing 4,000 sq. ft. of coverage in a single channel; or 2,000 sq. ft. in two channel mode. It must plug into a standard 110 V AC power outlet. The single component design must be capable of being placed on a at table or mounted on mic stand using a 5/8" thread adapter. The emitter must indicate proper functioning by a green LED; a red LED would indicate no RF signal. The internal transformer power supply must be capable of remotely powering a second emitter of equal size. Connecting the RF signal to a second emitter must be accomplished in one of two ways: BNC and 50 coax cable, or using the barrier strip with tinned leads.
The modulator must accept either line level audio input via 1/4" phone jack; mic level audio input via XLR connector or both. When using a combination of line level and mic level inputs, mixing the two sources must be easily accomplished using a control knob to achieve desired output. It must include a line output for connecting to a recording device or room PA system. The unit must have a optional carrying case for easy transporting.
