Introduction
The Medalist
Medalist 3220 (ST33220A) provide the following key features:
• Low power consumption
• Quiet operation
• S uppor t for S.M.A.R.T. drive monitoring and reporting
• High instantaneous (burst) data-transfer rates (up to 33.3 Mbytes per
second) using Ultra DMA mode 2
• Ful l-track multiple-sector transfer capability without local processor
intervention
• 128-Kbytes cache
• Stat e- of-the-ar t cachi ng and on-the-fly error-correction algorithms
• S uppor t for Read Multiple and Write Multiple commands
• Support for autodetection of master/slave drives that use cable select
(CSEL)
• These driv es use MR recording heads and P RML tec hnology , which
provides the drives with increased areal density.
