Never activate the clamping/unclamping ring while the instrument is rotating, as there is a risk of damaging its mechanism

or destroying the motor.
Never mount an instrument on a rotating motor.To ensure the STATIS 1.1 ST functions with maximum efficiency, it must be cooled by an air supply

of 8-10 norm liter/min on the nose of the micromotor.

Application

The STATIS 1.1 ST handpiece is only to be used by a qualified dental practitioner, in conjunction with the provision of dental treatment to dental patients.
Any other use may be dangerous and is strictly forbidden. The STATIS 1.1 ST is a medical product according to the applicable national provisions of law.

Generalities

The device must be used by a competent person in accordance with the current legal provisions concerning industrial safety, health and accident
prevention regula

tions, and these working instructions. In accordance with these requirements, the operator:

•

must only use working devices that are in perfect working order; in the event of irregular functioning, excessive vibration, abnormal heating or other
signs indicating malfunction of the device, the work must be stopped immediately; in this case, contact a repair center that is approved by SciCan;

• must ensure that the device is used only for the purpose for which it is intended, must protect himself, his patients and third parties from
any danger, and must avoid contamination through the use of the product.

The device is intended for medical treatment only; any use other than that for which this product is intended is not allowed and may prove to be
dangerous. The medical device meets all the current national legal requirements. Excess material from products used for maintenance (lubricants,
cleaning products and disinfectants) may penetrate into the electric brush motor and interfere with its functioning. It is essential to follow the
maintenance instructions accompanying each product.

Recommendations

Adhere to the Instructions for Use, in accordance with the instructions of the bur manufacturer. Never use a bur with an incorrect shaft, as there is a
risk of this becoming detached during the trea

tment and causing injury to you yourself, to your patient and to third parties. The only burs to be used
are those corresponding to the ISO 1797 norm. They should be made from steel or hardened metal. Rest the device on a suitable support in order to
eliminate the risk of injury to you yourself, to your patient and to third parties.

Guarantee

The manufacturer grants the operator a warranty covering all functional defects, material or production faults.

The device is covered by this warranty
for 2 years from the date of invoicing. In the event of justified claims, the manufacturer or its authorized representative will fulfill the company’s
obligations under this guarantee by repairing or replacing the product free of charge. Any other claims, of whatever nature, in particular in the form of a
claim for damages and interest, are excluded. The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for damage or injury and the consequences thereof,
resulting from:

• excessive wear and tear

• improper handling

• non-observance of the instructions for installation, operation and maintenance

• unusual chemical, electrical or electrolytic influences

• poor connections, whether of the air water or electricity supply.

The guarantee shall become null and void if the damage and its consequences are due to improper manipulation of the product, or modifications
to the product carried out by persons not authorized by the manufacturer. Claims under the terms of the guarantee will be considered only on
presentation, together with the product, of the invoice or the consignment note, on which the date of purchase, the product reference and the
Serial No. should be clearly indicated.

Installation

The STATIS 1.1 ST should be sterilized prior to being operated for the first time. Do not connect or disconnect the handpiece
while the motor is running.

Doing so could result in damage to the handpiece and motor.

Connection:
Push the handpiece onto the E-Type coupling of the motor.
Before each use, check the connection by pulling the contra-angle to be sure it is securely attached.

Disconnection:
Pull off the contra-angle from the E-Type coupling in an axial direction.

Inserting the Bur:
Turn the ring completely counterclockwise, insert the bur all the way. Exert traction on the tool to check that it is correctly in
place. Always wear gloves or other adequate protection when checking and using the device.

Removing the Bur:
After the bur stops rotating, turn the ring completely counterclockwise and remove the bur.

Maintenance

Dental handpieces should be cleaned / disinfected, lubricated and sterilized before the first use and between each
patient use

Only use maintenance products and/or components approved by SciCan such as SciCan STATCARE

™

spray or the SciCan automatic lubrication device
STATMATIC™. The use of other products and components can void the warranty. The device is supplied in non-sterile form. Before use, please follow the
instructions under this heading. Check that the sterilizer and the water that is used are clean. After each sterilization cycle, remove the device from the
sterilizing apparatus immediately, in order to reduce the risk of corrosion.The Statim sterilizer is recommended for maximum longevity.

Recommended reprocessing methods according to DIN EN ISO 17664

The operator should be aware of personal health risks when reprocessing contaminated dental handpieces and should wear gloves and eye protection.

•

Wipe off any debris or blood contamination at chair side.

• Do not immerse dental handpieces in disinfection solutions.

• Reprocess immediately after use.

• Remove any rotary instruments (burs, files, etc.) before reprocessing.

Cleaning and Disinfection

Please note that STATIS dental handpieces should not be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.
Attention:

Do not use products containing acetone, chlorine or bleach as disinfectants

Manual External Cleaning and Disinfection

Cleaning:
After each use, the device must be thoroughly scrubbed either under water (potable water) or with 60 - 70% alcohol solution.

Disinfection
Do not use products containing acetone, chlorine or bleach as
disinfectants. When applying disinfection sprays/wipes, follow the
instructions for use of these materials.

FOR GERMAN USERS:

In order to efficiently reprocess dental handpieces, internal cleaning and
disinfection can be achieved through the use of

ALPRO WL-clean*,ALPRO

WL-cid* and ALPRO WL-dry*.

Mechanical External and Internal Cleaning and Disinfection

In Europe, a validated washer/disinfector such as Hydrim C51wd or M2 is
recommended. In all cases the instruments need to be thoroughly dried
after the automa

ted washing process.

Be aware of the possible risks from the moist environment of the thermal
cleaning and disinfection unit, when leaving the instruments for extended
periods in the chamber with an unopened door.

Drying

Manual Drying
A

pply dry air to the internal and external surfaces until surface water is no

longer visible.

Mechanical Drying
Normally thermal washer/disinfectors have an automatic drying
programme included. Units with active drying for internal lumens are
recommended.

Lubrication

After cleaning and/or disinfecting the STATIS handpieces it is important to maintain/lubricate the handpieces with SciCan Statcare Spray or use an
automa

ted care system such as the Statmatic maintenance unit.

Lubricate each STATIS Instrument after the cleaning and disinfection process prior to sterilisation. For those countries where sterilisation or thermal
cleaning & disinfection are not prescribed, lubricate at least twice a day. SciCan only recommends the use of SciCan STATCARE Spray or STATMATIC
maintenance unit.

Manual Lubrication

• Remove rotary instruments from instrument chuck before cleaning, disinfection and lubrication.

• Place the instrument in a cloth or paper towel so as to catch any debris and foreign matter expelled by the atomizer jet.

• Insert the nozzle of the lubricant into the back of the instrument sleeve.

• Spray the STATCARE Spray for 1-2 seconds.

• Run the handpiece for 15-20 seconds to remove any residual debris and oil.

Manual Care of the Chuck:
It is recommended that the chuck system be cleaned and lubricated at least once a week. After removing the rotary instrument,
use the tip of the nozzle of the STATCARE spray can to spray into the opening of the chuck. Thereafter, please follow the care and
maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Mechanical Lubrication

• Remove rotary instruments from the instrument chuck prior to lubrication.

• We recommend using the SciCan STATMATIC maintenance unit. Place up to 3 handpieces in the device for time efficient
lubrication (15 sec./handpiece) and automatic optimized maintenance.

Automated Care of the Chuck
It is recommended that the chuck system be cleaned and lubricated at least once a week. After removing the rotary instrument, but before putting the
instrument in the STATMATIC lubrication unit, use the integrated tip-adapter for cleaning and lubrication of the chuck mechanism.

Wrapping for Sterilisation
SciCan recommends the sterilisation of STATIS dental handpieces and instruments in the STATIM cassette autoclave.Where local regulations require the
wrapping of dental handpieces for subsequent storage, it is important that the sterilisation bags are large enough to incorporate the instrument in such a
way that the bag is in no way pressurized. The sterilisation bag must be compliant with local hygiene standards and must be designed for the use in the
sterilisation process.

Sterilisation of dental handpieces

Process: STATIS devices can be sterilised in steam autoclave units following local guidelines and autoclave manufacturer's instructions.

Recommended sterilisa

tion methods/parameters for unwrapped and wrapped loads are as follows:

According to American and Canadian standards:
Pressure pulse: 132°C - 134°C - min. sterilisation holding time 3.5-6 minutes
Pre-vacuum: 134°C - min. sterilisation holding time 3.5-10 minutes
Gravity: 134°C - min. sterilisation holding time 15 minutes

According to EN13060:
For dental handpiece sterilisation a B-cycle or validated S-cycle process should be chosen.
Please note that in case of sterilisation in an S-cycle, the manufacturer of the steriliser has to specify whether dental handpieces can be sterilised in their
S-cycle.
Attention: Lubricate the STATIS handpieces before sterilisation! STATIS handpieces can withstand a temperature of up to 138°C.
Be aware of the possible risks of the potentially moist environment of the steriliser when leaving the instruments for extended periods in the chamber with
an unopened door.

Storage

Reprocessed products should be stored wrapped in a dust-free, dry, dark environment at room temperature. Please be aware that wrapped sterile
instruments may have a limited shelf life (obser

ve local guidelines).

Environment

Temperature between -40°C (-40°F) and 70°C (158°F), relative humidity between 10% and 100%, atmospheric pressure 50 kPa to 106 kPa (7,3 to 15,3 psi).

Servicing

Never disassemble the device. For all modifications and repairs, we recommend that you contact your regular supplier or SciCan directly.
The manufacturer recommends inspection of the instruments on a regular basis.

être endommagé ou le moteur détruit.

Ne jamais installer un instrument sur un moteur en marche. Pour s’assurer que le STATIS 1.1 ST fonctionne avec une efficacité maximale; il doit être

Cet instrument doit être utilisé par une personne compétente conformément aux dispositions légales en vigueur en matière de réglementation sur la sécurité
industrielle, la santé et la prévention des accidents, ainsi qu’à ces instructions. Conformément au respect de ces règles, l’utilisateur :

doit impérativement utiliser des instruments en parfait état de fonctionnement ; en cas de fonctionnement irrégulier, de vibrations excessives, de
surchauffe anormale ou d’autres signes indiquant un mauvais fonctionnement de l’instrument, l’utilisateur doit immédiatement interrompre l’intervention ;
dans ce cas, il doit s’adresser à un centre de réparation agréé par SciCan ;

• doit impérativement s’assurer que l’instrument n’est utilisé que pour l’usage pour lequel il est destiné, se protéger lui-même, ses patients ou ses tiers de
n’importe quel danger et doit éviter toute contamination via l’utilisation de ce produit.

L’usage de cet instrument est uniquement destiné aux soins médicaux ; toute utilisation détournée de l’objectif auquel il est destiné n’est pas autorisée et peut
s’avérer dangereuse. Cet instrument médical satisfait à toutes les exigences légales nationales actuellement en vigueur. L’utilisation excessive de produits
d’entretien (lubrifiants, produits de nettoyage et désinfectants) peut entraîner la pénétration de ces produits dans le moteur à balais électrique et affecter son
fonctionnement. Il est impératif de suivre les instructions d’entretien accompagnant chaque produit.

Recommandations

Respecter les consignes d’utilisation, conformément aux instructions du fabricant des fraises. Ne jamais utiliser de fraise avec une tige qui n’est pas
ada

ptée ; elle pourrait se détacher pendant l’intervention et causer des blessures au patient, aux tiers ou à l’utilisateur. Seules les fraises
correspondant à la norme ISO 1797-1 peuvent être utilisées. Elles devront être en acier ou en métal trempé. Poser l’instrument sur un support
adéquat, de manière à éliminer tout risque de blessure pour l’utilisateur, le patient et tout tiers.

Garantie

Le fabricant accorde à l’utilisateur une garantie couvrant tous les vices fonctionnels, ainsi que les défauts de matériel et de production.

Le dispositif est
couvert par la présente garantie de 2 ans à partir de la date de la facture. En cas de réclamations justifiées, le fabricant ou ses représentants autorisés
rempliront les obligations de la société en vertu de la présente garantie en effectuant la réparation ou le remplacement du produit, et ce gratuitement.
Toute autre réclamation, de quelque nature que ce soit, en particulier sous la forme d’une réclamation pour dommages et intérêts, est exclue. Le
fabricant ne sera pas tenu responsable des dommages ou des blessures, ni de leurs conséquences, pouvant résulter :

• d’un excès d’usure et de manque de soin

• d’une manipulation inadéquate

• de la non-observance des instructions d’installation, de fonctionnement et d’entretien

• de l’effet inhabituel de produits chimiques, électriques ou électrolytiques

• d’une mauvaise connexion, qu’elle soit due à l’alimentation air, eau ou électrique.

La garantie deviendra nulle et non avenue si les dommages et leurs conséquences sont causés par une mauvaise manipulation du produit, ou par des
modifications apportées au produit et exécutées par des personnes non autorisées par le fabricant. Pour bénéficier de cette garantie, le matériel
devra impérativement être accompagné de la facture remise au moment de l’achat ou du bordereau d’expédition, sur lesquels la date d’achat, la
référence et le numéro de série du produit devront être clairement indiqués.

Installation

Le matériel STATIS 1.1 ST doit être stérilisé avant sa première utilisation. Ne pas connecter ni déconnecter la pièce à main
pendant que le moteur est en fonctionnement.

La pièce ou le moteur pourraient être endommagés.

Connexion :
Pousser la pièce à main sur le connecteur de type E du moteur.
Avant chaque utilisation, vérifier la connexion en tirant sur le contre-angle et s’assurer que la pièce est bien fixée.

Déconnexion :
Débloquer le contre-angle du connecteur type E dans le sens de l’axe.

Insertion de la fraise:
Tourner complètement la bague en sense inverse des aiguilles de la montre et insérer la fraise jusqu’au fond. Exercer une
traction sur l’outil pour vérifier qu’elle est correctement mise en place. Toujours porter des gants ou toute autre protection
adéquate lors de la vérification ou de l’utilisation de l’instrument.

Retrait de la fraise:
Après l’arrêt complet de la fraise, tourner la bague en sense inverse des aiguilles de la montre et retirer la fraise.

Entretien

Les pièces à main dentaires doivent être nettoyées, lubrifiées et stérilisées avant d’être utilisées pour la première fois, ainsi
qu’entre chaque pa

tient.

N’utiliser que des produits d’entretien et/ou des composants approuvés par SciCan, comme le spray SciCan STATCARE

™

ou l’appareil de lubrification
automatique STATMATIC™de SciCan. L’utilisation d’autres produits ou composants peut entraîner l’annulation de la garantie. Cet instrument est
fourni non stérile. Avant utilisation, suivre les instructions figurant dans ce chapitre. Vérifier que le stérilisateur et l’eau utilisés sont propres. Après
chaque cycle de stérilisation, retirer immédiatement l’instrument du stérilisateur de manière à éviter tout risque de corrosion.

Méthodes de retraitement recommandées conformément à la norme
DIN EN ISO 17664

L’opérateur doit être conscient des risques de santé personnels potentiels
lors du retraitement des pièces à main dentaires contaminées et porter
des gants et une protection oculaire en conséquence.

• Essuyer les débris ou les traces de contamina

tion sanguine au niveau du

fauteuil.

• Ne pas immerger les pièces à main dentaires dans des solutions

désinfectantes.

• Retraiter immédiatement après emploi.

• Extraire les instruments rotatifs (fraises, limes, etc.) avant le retraitement !

Nettoyage et désinfection

Noter que les pièces à main dentaires STATIS ne doivent pas être
n

ettoyées dans un bain à ultrasons.

Attention : ne pas utiliser de produits contenant de l’acétone, du chlore ou
de l’eau de Javel en guise de désinfectants.

Nettoyage manuel externe et désinfection

Nettoyage
L’instrument doit être soigneusement netto

yé après chaque utilisation en le
frottant à l’eau courante (eau potable) ou à l’aide d’une solution à base de
60 à 70 % d’alcool.

Désinfection
Ne pas utiliser de produits contenant de l’acétone, du chlore ou de l’eau de
Javel en guise de désinfectants ! Lors du recours à des lingettes ou des
jets désinfectants, suivre les consignes d’utilisation de ces matériaux.
