2)ThisplayerdoesnotsupportMPEG4videosrecordedusingaHighDefinitionformat. TheMPEG-4HDandH.264formatsaredifferentfromthestandard-resolutionone. Forthetimebeing,videosencodedinHighDefinitionareonlyreadableoncomputers.

Thisreferstoahigh-densityopticaldisconwhichhigh-qualitypicturesandsoundhavebeen obtainedbymeansofdigitalsignals.Incorporationanewvideocompressiontechnology (MPEGII)andhigh-densityrecordingtechnology,DVDenablesaestheticallpleasing full-motionvideotoberecordedoverlongperiodsoftime(forinstance,awholemoviecan berecorded).DVDhasastructureconsistingoftwo0.6mmthindiscswhichareadhered toeachother.Sincethethinnerthedisc,thehigherthedensityatwhichtheinformationcan berecorded,aDVDdischasagreatercapacitythanasingle1.2mmthickdisc.Sincethe twothindiscsareadheredtoeachother,thereisthepotentialtoachievedouble-sidedplay sometimeinthefutureforevenlongerdurationplay.
