INSTALLATION MANUAL
VA-SW3050S(Server) VA-SW3050C(Client)
Network Recorder (Server/Client)
This manual provides new users of the Network Recorder with an overview of the software and information on the initial steps for startup and login.
There are two types of software: one is designed for the server and the other is for the client. Information on operations and detailed functions after login are provided in the electronic manual.

What’s the Network Recorder?
The Network Recorder VA-SW3050 is network application software designed for use with SANYO’s CCD cameras.
Installing VA-SW3050 on your PC and then connecting to your camera enables you to configure a functional and stable network monitoring system.
Software Profile
The Network Recorder consists of the following two pieces of software: Use proper software depending on the rolel of the computer.
VA-SW3050S (Server)
Your PC works as the server when this software is installed. In this network monitoring system, only the server can perform recording and deliver the recorded video
to each client. This is a recording software and does not provide the functionality of viewing and playing live video.
VA-SW3050C (Client)
Your PC works as a client when this software is installed. On a client, you can play back and save video data recorded on the server in addition to viewing live
video. This is a viewing software and does not provide the recording capability.

1 Video from each camera will be recorded and stored into the shared folder configured on the server. 2 Live video from each camera can be viewed. 3 Recorded video stored on the server can be played back on each client.
MEMO:
• PCs and cameras can be connected via the Internet.
• Provides simultaneous accesses to the server from up to 10 clients.

Before Using the Network Recorder
Before using the Network Recorder software, follow the steps below to configure the initial settings.
Connect your cameras and PCs via the network.

If your cameras do not support network connection, install the specified SANYO option board (VA-20/50/51/80/82LAN) on each of them.
Configure the server.

1 Install VA-SW3050S (Server) (see page 3). 2 Start and log into VA-SW3050S (Server) (see page 4). 3 In the [DATA Storage] screen, configure the data storage folder that stores recorded data. 4 Configure the Windows operating system to share the data storage folder.
This makes the client accessible to the data storage folder.
5 In the [Camera Setting] screen, register each camera.
Register the address and communication conditions of each camera you want to connect.
6 Configure the timer and alarm recording settings.
The server will start recording automatically. If necessary, configure other detailed settings related to recording.
Configure each client.

recorded data.
Specify the location of the data storage folder configured on the server. This enables you to share the data storage folder and acquire recorded video from the server.
4 In the [Camera Setting] screen, connect to each camera.
The camera information on the connected camera is loaded from the server. To display live video from a camera, select the camera and then connect to it. If necessary, configure other detailed settings related to the viewing and playback of live video.
Note:
• This means that you must disable the firewall protection before you begin using this software.
• For the system requirements for using this software, refer to the electronic manual.
• Configure the TCP/IP settings of your PCs to match the gateway and subnet mask settings of your cameras.
• Do not attempt to configure the screen saver while the PC is running this software .

Installing the Software
The installation steps are common between the server and client software. Start the installation program, and use the interactive dialog boxes to advance the installation.
Set the supplied installation CD-ROM into the PC drive
The installation program starts automatically.

Click [Next].

Select the “I accept the agreement” option and click [Next].

Select the Start menu folder and click [Next].
8 [Ready to Install] dialog
Click [Install].

Click [Finish].
After the installation is completed, close the dialog
The shortcut icon for the VA-SW3050 appears on the desktop.

Installation of the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
Enter the serial number printed on the software package and click [Next].
6 [Select Destination Location] dialog
Select the installation folder and click [Next].

MEMO:
• When you use the non-Japanese version of Windows, English is used for the display language during installation.
• The following components are necessary for running VA-SW3050.
• .NET Framework 1.1
• .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
• DirectX Runtime
If these components are not installed on your PC, follow the onscreen instructions to install them together with the VA-SW3050 software. (steps 1, 2, and G).
• Some installations require the OS to be restarted afterwards. If so, follow the onscreen instructions.

Startup/Logging in
The start-up and login steps are common between the server and client software.

Double-click the shortcut icon on the

desktop.
The VA-SW3050 starts and the login screen appears.
The VA-SW3050 icon appears in the task tray in the right bottom corner of the screen.
Click the appropriate radio button to

select the display language.
Available display languages:
English, French, German, and Spanish
Enter the user ID and password.

When you log in to the software for the first time, use the factory setting values below.
USER ID : admin PASSWORD : admin
Click [OK].

When the software starts for the first time after installation, the following screen appears:
On the server software;
[Camera Setting] screen
On the client software;
[DATA Storage] screen
Once you have successfully logged in, implement the required initial settings in accordance with “Before Using the Network Recorder” (page 2). For detailed information on the setting steps, refer to the electronic manual.
MEMO:
If the initial settings are completed, the main screen will appear after logginged in.
On server software:
The camera information will be displayed on the main screen.
On client software:
Live video will be displayed on the main screen.
