When reheatinga plate of food how the food is arrangedon the plate affects how well it will reheat.
Therefore.the denser.thicker areas shouldbe near
the outer edges of the’plate.
Stirring helps to distribute heat more evenly so when
appropriate,stir foods after reheating.

How to UseYour MicrowaveOven Safely
(IMPORZANT)
Althoughyour oven is providedwith safety features,
it is importantto observethe following:
a)
It is importantnot to interfere or tamp& with safety interlocks.
b)
Do not place any object betweenthe oven front face
and the door or allow residue to accumulateon door
sealing surfaces. Wipe the door sealing area frequently with a mild detergent, rinse and wipe dry. Never use
abrasive powdersor pads.
c)
When opened, the door must not be subjectedto
strain, for example,a child hangingon an opened
door or any load could cause the oven to fall fordard,
weight could also damagethe door.
Do not operatethe oven i?it is damaged, until it has
beenrepairedby a serviceengineertrainedby
SANYO.It is particularlyimportantthat the oven
closes properlyand that it is inspectedto ensure that
there is no damageto the:
i) Door (bent)
ii) Hinges and Latches(broken or loosened)
iii) Door seals and Sealing surfaces
It is dangerousfor anyone other than a properly quali-
d)
fied service engineertrainedby SANYO to carry out
adjustmentsor repairs.
e)
Small quantitiesof food or foods with low moisture
content or high fat or sugar content can burn, dry out
or catch on fire if cooked or re-heatedtoo long.
Please note that the heating/cookingperiod required
is extremelyshort: for exampleit only takes approximately 15 secondsto heat one mince pie or similar.
In the unlikely event of a fire occurring, turn off the
oven and its electrical supply, pull out the plug, but
keep the oven door closed.
f)
If the supply cord is damaged,it must be replacedby
SANYO SERVICECENTRE,as a special prepared
cord is required.
N~E
It is quite normal for steam to be emittedaround the
door, for misting to occur on the door, or even for
water dropletsto appearbelow the door during the
cooking cycle.
This is merely condensationfrom the heat of the food
and does not affect the safety of your oven.
The door is not intendedto seal the oven cavity completely but its special SANYO design contributesto
the completesafety of the appliance.
WARNING
1.
Do not heat food or liquids in bottles or jars with lids
on.
Air must be allowed to escape from the container.Do
not warm babies bottles in the microwaveoven with
screw top lids or teats in place.
2.
Milk or food for babies should be heated on SIMMER.
It should then be stirred thoroughlyand the milk or
food should be tested to ensure that it is at the correct
temperaturebefore giving it to the baby.
When boiling water or other liquids, be sure to use a
3.
wide necked container. This will allow air bubbles to
escape freely. Shoulda narrow neckedcontainerbe
used, air bubbles may combineto form a large bubble
which may in turn cause the liquid to boil over. This
may happeneven after the cooking time has stopped.
4.
Do not attemptto operatethe oven while empty as
this will cause damage.
5.
As an exhaust is located in the rear of the oven, install
the oven so as not to block the outlet.
Do not deep fry in the microwaveoven as the temper-
6.
ature of oil cannot be controlledand it may overheat.
7.
Always removecontentsfrom cans to microproof
containerfor reheating.
It is importantto keep the oven interior clean. Food
8.
particles or spatters left on the oven walls reduce the
efficiency of the microwaves.
9.
Never completelyseal containersin the microwave
oven. Coveringsare necessarybut containersmust
not be airtight.
Taking Careof Your MicrowaveOven
Wipe the oven inside and out with a mild detergentsolution, rinse, and wipe dry. Any food left in oven could
possibly cause arcing due to carbonisation. This should
be done on a weekly basis –more often if needed.
Never use abrasive powdersor pads.
–23–
REMOVABLE PARTS
● The glass turntablecan be removedfor cleaning at the
sink. Wipe up excess spillage with paper towel or cloth
prior to removalof turntable.
● Roller rest can be removedfor easy cleaning.

OVENPROOFGLASS
Ovenware(treated for high-intensityheat), such as mixing bowls, bread dishes, pie plates, cake plates, liquid
measuringcups, casseroles,and bowls without metallic
decoration.
CHINA
Bowls, cups serving pieces, plates, and platters without
metallic decoration.
POl_TERY
Dishes, cups, mugs, and bowls.
PLASTIC
Non P.V.C. cling film maybeused as a cover. Place cling
film firmly over container, make sure there is sufficient air
space by pressingfinger in the centre.Never have the
cling film skin tight. The dish should be deep enough so
that the cling film will not touch the food. As the food
heats,it may cause the cling film to melt whereverit
containers, and plastic bags are usable for short cooking
operations.Use with care as some softening of the plastic
can occur with heat from the food.
Specially designedplastic microwavecookwareis suita-
ble for generaluse providedit is clearly maked“Micro-
wave Oven” safe.
Utensils and Materialsto Avoid
METAL UTENSILS
Metal utensils are not recommendedbecausethe metal
shields the food from microwaveenergy on the bottom
and sides, causing unevencooking results. Metal utensils could also cause arcing and damagethe appliance.
METAL DECORATION
Metal-trimmedor -bandeddinnerware,casseroles,etc.,
should not be used. The metal trim interfereswith normal cooking and may damagethe dish.
WOOD
Woodenbowls and boards, will becomedried out when
used in the microwaveoven and may split or crack.
~HER
Avoid using cracked, flawed, or defectiveutensils, including ovenproofglassware.
CAUTION:DO NOT USE METAL TIES ON ANY
PAPEROR PLASTICBAGS;THE TIES BECOME
HOT AND COULDCAUSE A FIRE.
ALUMINIUM FOIL
Large sheets of aluminiumfoil shouldbe avoidedbecause they will disrupt cookingand may cause harmful
arcing. However, smaller pieces may be used to cover
areas such as poultry ]egs and wings. Any aluminiumfoil
used should never be closer than 2.5cm(1 inch) from
side walls of oven.
Do not cover food completelywith aluminiumfoil.
A Few OtherPrecautions(IMPOKLANT)
1 Arcima in the oven during operationusually occurs
from &e of metallic utens% or overuseof aluminium
foil. Arcing is denotedby a “snapping”or “cracking”
noise and may be accompaniedby bright flashes.
Continuousarcing can damagethe unit. If continuous arcing occurs during operation,do not use the
unit and call a service engineer.
2. Always make sure that closed containers, such as jars
of baby food, are openedand plastic pouchesof
vegetableare pierced before cooking.
Tightly closed containerscould explode.
3. Do not cook eggs in their shells becausethey will explode. Puncturethe membranearoundthe yolk before frying eggs. This is becausethe yolk swells faster
than the membraneand the egg explodeswhen heated quickly.
4. Do not be alarmed or surprisedif you notice the turntable moving clockwise sometime:,and anticlockwise
