DVD-HD841 Upgrade Instructions
Reason for upgrade: Samsung has issued

this upgrade to simplify the DVI output setup
procedure. After this upgrade is performed, the
DVD-HD841’s DVI output will be enabled
automatically when a DVI cable is connected
between the DVD-HD841 and a TV.

Upgrade instructions

Step 1.

If you are just taking the DVD-HD841
out of the box, please connect the
unit to your TV using the Composite
video connection, see Figure 1. If you
have already connected the unit to
your TV and have successfully
configured the DVI output prior to this
upgrade, skip to Step 2.

Step 2.

Open the Disc Tray by pressing the
open/close button, then insert the software
Upgrade disc.
Close the Disc Tray.

After the disc loads, you will then see the u
screen shown in Figure 3. The word “Total” wi
be highlighted.

Step 3.

Using the DVD-HD841 remote control, press the
“Enter” button located in the center of the remote.

“Now Loading” will be displayed on the
screen, see Figure 5.

Step 4.

The Disc tray will eject automatically
after approximately 15 seconds.
Remove the disc from tray. Do not turn
off unit until Disc tray closes, as the u

nit
is still upgrading the software. The Disc
tray will close automatically in 1-2
minutes. Power off the unit using the
front power button and then power on
the unit, this completes the upgrade.

The new software will automatically switch to DVI output when a DVI cable is
connected to the rear panel of the DVD player.

Congratulations!

Your Samsung DVD-HD841 is now loaded with the latest upgrade available.
The new software will automatically switch to DVI output when a DVI cable is
connected between your DVD-HD841 and your TV.
