GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Samson SZ Series amplifiers have been designed
to provide robust, clean output with low distortion
and wide dynamic range, along with the dependability
demanded by the most professional design engineers
and audio installers. The SZ1240 will deliver 240
watts at 4 ohms. The amplifiers can also run at 25, 70
or 100 volts thanks to its internal, high performance
matching transformers, making it an ideal solution for
Constant Voltage systems.
The SZ1240 is enclosed in a convenient tworackspace chassis and features a reliable linear
amplifier design. Rear panel controls include Input
Level Adjust from –12 to 0 dB and a High Pass Filter
at 400Hz to use with announcement horn speakers.
A front panel Signal, Peak and Protection LED
indicator helps you set the correct operating levels.
Standard XLR Input and Link connectors, plus
Euroblock speaker output connectors are provided to
ensure easy connections and maximum flexibility.
The SZ1240 employs internal wind tunnels with
forced-air cooling via an internal fan, greatly reducing
the chance of overheating and other thermal problems.
Multi-stage protection for power-up, overheating,
over-current, short circuit, low output impedance and
DC voltage assures high reliability under the most
demanding situations.
The SZ1240 amplifier is road tough with its all steel
chassis, 19-inch rackmount design and convenient
carry handles facilitating easy installation in any rack.
Optimized for commercial installations including
schools, houses of worship, office buildings and live
sound venues, the SZ1240 amplifier will deliver clean,
reliable power.

ARCHITECT’S & ENGINEER’S SPECIFICATIONS
The Samson SZ1240 shall be a 2 space rackmount single
channel power amplifier. It shall deliver 240 watts into 4
ohms or it shall be used for 25, 70, or 100 volt operation
utilizing internal output transformers. It shall have XLR
balanced inputs and XLR link output for second amplifiers.
It shall have a ground lift for pin 1 on the rear panel link
output. It shall have a selectable 400Hz high pass filter
and -12 to 0 dB gain adjustment on the rear panel. It shall
have a 4 ohm output on a Euroblock connector and have
25V, 70V, and 100V taps for constant voltage intergration.
It shall have a front panel power switch with power LED.
It shall have 4 LED indicators for signal, -20dB, clip, and
protect on the front panel. The SZ1240 shall have an internal
fan and tunnel cooling system plus multi-stage protection
for power-up,
output impedance and DC voltage. The SZ1240 shall
get its power from standard IEC power cable for 115
volt operation or it can operate from DC24 volts via the
supplied Euroblock connector. The SZ1240 shall carry
a 3 year extended warranty.
