The Salter Nutritional Scale is designed for precise measuring of ingredients or portions and for monitoring the key nutritional values in your food. (Fat, salt, cholesterol, carbohydrate, fibre, protein and calories)
This scale offers a complete database of nutritional information for 999 foods and ingredients as listed in the McCance & Widdowson’s Composition of Food Integrated Dataset (COFIDS) Food Standards Agency.
It has a memory feature for up to 99 entries, which when recalled displays the total accumulated calories/fat/salt etc. for all items stored. This enables the user to keep track of nutritional values and calorie content over the course of a day.
All these features make this scale ideal for everyday use and dietry control purposes.

BATTERY:
3 AAA
TO INSTALL BATTERY:
Insert the 3 AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure the + and - terminals are the correct way round.
THE DISPLAY:
The diagram below explains the various features of the display.
SWITCH ON:
Press and release the ON/OFF key
TO SWITCH OFF:
Press and release the ON/OFF key NOTE: Auto switch-off occurs if display shows 0.0 or the same weight reading
for approximately 3 minutes.
TIP: Using the ON/OFF key to switch the scale off after use will prolong the battery life.
TO CONVERT WEIGHT UNITS:
The scale measures in imperial (oz & lb:oz), metric (kg & g) and Aquatronic® liquid measurements (fl. oz & ml). In weighing mode press and release the UNIT key to convert between g /oz/lb:oz/ml/fl.oz at any time.

NOTE: The Aquatronic® liquid measure feature is suitable for all water based liquids, including wine, milk, stock,
cream etc. Please be aware that oils have a lower specific gravity, which will result in a volume reading of approx. +10%. If measuring oils by volume on this scale, please adjust for this accordingly.
TO WEIGH:
1) Press and release the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on
2) Wait until display shows 0.0
3) Place item to be weighed on the platform
4) Weight is displayed
TO ADD & WEIGH:
To weigh several different ingredients, press the ZERO key to reset the display between each ingredient. NOTE: When weights have been tared out, the display will show a negative number when the items are removed
from the scale. To reset the scale back to zero for a new measurement, press the ZERO button.
TO DISPLAY NUTRITIONAL READINGS:
1) Press and release the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on
2) Place food item to be weighed on the platform.
3) Clear the food code if necessary by pressing and releasing the CLR key – the food code 000 is displayed.
4) Refer to the table in this manual and identify the 3 digit code for the food item being weighed
(e.g. 921 for honey).
5) Using the numerical keys (0 – 9) enter the 3 digit code
6) When the 3rd digit is pressed, the values for calories, salt, protein, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol, and fiber for
the food item will all appear on the screen.
TO SAVE NUTRITIONAL VALUES TO MEMORY:
1) Follow steps 1 – 6 of the ‘To Display Nutritional Readings’ section.
2) Press M+ key to add the food item being weighed to memory.
3) M01 will be shown at the upper left corner of the display to indicate that one set of values has been saved to
memory. To add additional food items to memory, repeat the previous steps.
NOTE: The memory is saved permanently, even if the scale is switched off except when the batteries are removed. NOTE: The maximum number of food items that can be added to the memory is 99.
When the memory number reaches 99 the display will flash “99“ – the memory must be cleared by following the instructions in the ‘To Clear Memory’ section.
TO RECALL MEMORY:
1) Press MR key to see the total values for all of the food items stored to memory.
2) Σ is displayed next to the memory indicator to indicate that the total memory is being displayed.
3) The total values for calories, salt, protein, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol, and fibre for the food items stored in
memory will all appear on the screen.
NOTE: It is not possible to display the total weight of the food items stored to memory.

TO CLEAR MEMORY:
1) Press the MR key.
2) Press the MC key.
3) The memory is cleared when the memory indicator and memory number are no longer displayed.
NOTE: the scale can only store up to 99 foods in memory. If over 99 items are stored, the display will flash “99”.
Press MC to clear the memory.

La balance nutritionnelle Salter est conçue pour doser avec précision les ingrédients ou portions et contrôler les principales valeurs nutritives de vos aliments. (graisses, sel, cholestérol, glucides, fibres, protéines et calories)
Cette balance offre une base de données nutritionnelles complète couvrant 999 aliments et ingrédients, suivant la liste publiée dans l’ouvrage McCance &Widdowson’s The Composition of Food integrated dataset (CoF IDS) de l’Agence britannique de protection des normes alimentaires (Food Standards Agency).
Elle est dotée d’une fonction mémoire acceptant jusqu’à 99 entrées, qui affiche sur demande le total cumulé en calories/graisses/sel, etc. pour tous les aliments enregistrés. L’utilisateur peut ainsi mémoriser les valeurs nutritives et la teneur en calories sur une journée complète.
Grâce à ces fonctionnalités, cette balance est idéale pour un usage quotidien et un suivi diététique.

CONVERSION DES UNITÉS DE POIDS :
La balance calcule en mesures impériales (oz et lb:oz), métriques (kg et g) et en mesures liquides (fl. oz et ml) avec la fonction Aquatronic®. En mode pesage, appuyer et relâcher la touche UNIT pour convertir à tout moment entre g /oz/lb:oz/ml/fl.oz.

REMARQUE : La fonction de mesure des liquides Aquatronic® convient à tous les liquides à base d’eau (vin, lait,
bouillon, crème, etc.). Ne pas oublier que les huiles ont une gravité spécifique plus faible, qui donnera une différence de volume de +10% environ. Pour obtenir un volume d'huile avec cette balance, faites le calcul nécessaire.
PESER :
1) Appuyer et relâcher la touche ON/OFF pour allumer la balance.
2) Attendre que l’écran affiche ‘0.0’
3) Placer l’ingrédient à peser sur le plateau
4) Le poids s’affiche
AJOUTER LE NOUVEL INGRÉDIENT À PESER :
Pour peser plusieurs ingrédients différents, appuyer sur la touche ZERO pour réinitialiser l’afficheur entre chaque pesage d’ingrédient.
REMARQUE : Quand le poids de tare est soustrait, l’écran affiche un chiffre négatif dès que les ingrédients sont retirés de la balance. Pour remettre la balance à zéro en vue d’un nouveau pesage, appuyer sur la touche ZERO.
AFFICHER LE CALCUL DES VALEURS NUTRITIONNELLES :
1) Appuyer et relâcher la touche ON/OFF pour allumer la balance.
2) Placer l’ingrédient à peser sur le plateau.
3) Si nécessaire, effacer le code alimentaire en appuyant et relâchant la touche CLR – le code alimentaire
000 s’affiche.
4) Se reporter au tableau du manuel pour le code à 3 chiffres identifiant l’ingrédient à peser (ex. : 921 pour le miel).
5) Entrer le code à 3 chiffres en utilisant le clavier numérique (0 – 9).
6) Dès la saisie du 3e chiffre, les valeurs en calories, sel, protéines, graisses, glucides, cholestérol et fibres
concernant l’ingrédient s’affichent sur l’écran.
MÉMORISER LES VALEURS NUTRITIONNELLES :
1) Suivre les étapes 1 à 6 de la section ‘Afficher le calcul des valeurs nutritionnelles’.
2) Appuyer sur la touche M+ pour mémoriser l’ingrédient en cours de pesage .
3) M01 s’affiche dans le coin supérieur gauche de l’écran pour indiquer qu’un ensemble de valeurs a été
mémorisé. Répéter les étapes précédentes pour mémoriser d’autres ingrédients.
REMARQUE : La mémoire est sauvegardée en permanence, même si la balance est éteinte (sauf en cas de retrait des piles).
REMARQUE : La balance peut mémoriser jusqu’à 99 ingrédients maximum. Quand la mémoire atteint le chiffre 99 , « 99 » s’affiche en clignotant – la mémoire doit être effacer en suivant les
instructions de la section ‘Effacer la mémoire’.
RAPPEL DE MÉMOIRE :
1) Appuyer sur la touche MR pour voir le total des valeurs concernant tous les ingrédients mémorisés.
2) Σ apparaît à côté de l’indicateur mémoire pour indiquer que tout le contenu mémoire est affiché.
3) Le total des valeurs en calories, sel, protéines, graisses, glucides, cholestérol et fibres concernant les
ingrédients mémorisés s’affiche sur l’écran.
