As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electri-
cally live even when the switch is off: To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. WARNING !Check that the voltage of your elec-
tricity supply matches the voltage of your appliance. Any error when connecting the appliance can cause irreparable harm, not covered by the warranty.
2. Always unplug it immediately after using.
3. Do not use while bathing.
4. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
5. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
6. Never use your appliance with wet hands or near water contained in bathtubs, showers, sinks or other liquids.
7. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.

cution, fire, or injury to persons:
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.

13. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is hot or plugged in.
14. While using the appliance, keep your hair away from the air inlets.
15. Do not operate with a voltage converter.

This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (inclu­ding children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa­bilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of the appliance by a person reponsible for their safety.Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
17. Do not clean with abrasive or corrosive products.
18. Do not use at temperatures below 32°F and above 95°F.
19. The appliance and attachments are hot when in use. Do not let eyes and bare skin touch heated surfaces.

3. GETTING STARTED
- Place your curling iron on a safe flat surface, with the counter rest ex­tended.
- Plug it into a power outlet.
- Select the right temperature setting for your hair: use the setting MEDIUM if your hair is fragile or fine – setting HIGH if your hair is thick and healthy.
TIP: Setting MEDIUM is strongly recommended for first time use.
Your iron will be ready to use in 90 seconds. Warning: Keep in mind that your iron will take time to cool. To avoid risk of burns, do not touch the barrel. The iron will be safe to handle after about 20 minutes.
4. HOW TO USE YOUR: Curl Active Iron
Follow these easy steps to achieve gorgeous curls.
PREP:
• Make sure that your hair is completely dry before starting to use your iron.
• Do not use this appliance on synthetic hair (wigs, extensions, etc.)
• Use a wide-tooth comb to untangle your hair.
• For best results, part your hair into sections. This will make it easier to select 1,2” wide strands of hair when using your iron.
CURL:
• Press the rotation button in the left or right direction in order to bring the clip around so it faces you, then stop the rotation.
• Open the clip by pressing on the curl release handle.
• Place the end of a 1” strand of hair between the clip and the barrel.
TIP: If you prefer, you can also place your hair between the clip and barrel, starting halfway down the length, then gently gliding the iron down to the tips.
• Release the clip onto the barrel using the handle. Your hair is ready to be curled.
• Press the rotation button – the hot barrel will then start rotating and

wrap your hair automatically around it.
• NOTE: See illustration 9 & 10 to find out which direction (left or right) is ideal to create flawless curls.
TIP: Tilt the iron slightly so that your hair is wrapped along the length of the barrel. Pull the iron away from you so that your hair is kept taut during the process.
• Once your hair is wrapped around the barrel, release the rotation but­ton. For safety reasons, the barrel will rotate back a short distance.
• Hold the iron in place for about 10 seconds.
TO RELEASE YOUR HAIR:
• Hold the barrel upright.
• Without pulling the iron down, press the rotation button in the re­verse direction to release half of the section. WARNING! Be careful not to pull the iron down when you are doing this.
• Press the handle to open the clip.
• Slide the barrel downwards to release the curl.
• Repeat these steps for each section.
5. CLEANING AND USER MAINTENANCE CAUTION
: Unplug the iron and let it cool down safely on its
counter rest. If necessary, wipe the barrel with a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean it after it has cooled down completely. Never allow water or any other liquid to get inside the appliance. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service rep­resentative. A proper method of cord storage & total appliance storage; and cord care while in use.
• The appliance should be stored in a safe, dry location, out of reach of children.
• If the cord of the appliance is twisted, to untwist the cord before use.
• Do not wrap cord around the appliance.
6. ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION FIRST!
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be re­covered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point if applicable.
7. FAQ
Why are my curls undone at the tip?
You have wrapped your hair around the barrel in the wrong direction. Take a look at illustrations 9 & 10 to get it right!
My curls don’t shape well, what can I do?
• Make sure that your hair is dry when you start.
• Curl smaller sections of hair.
