Leveling Lift System

Thank you for choosing Rough Country Off Road Gear for your suspension needs.
Rough Country recommends a certified technician install this system. In addition to these instructions, professional

knowledge of disassemble/reassembly procedures as well as post installation checks must be known. Attempts to
install this system without this knowledge and expertise may jeopardize the integrity and/or operating safety of the
vehicle.

Please read instructions before beginning installation. Check the kit hardware against the parts list. Be sure you
have all needed parts and know where they go.

PRODUCT USE INFORMATION

As a general rule, the taller a vehicle is, the easier it will roll. Offset, as much as possible, what is lost in rollover
resistance by increasing tire track width. In other words, go "wide" as you go "tall".

Do not add, alter, or fabricate any factory or after-market parts to increase vehicle height over the intended height
of the Rough Country product purchased. Mixing component brands, lifts, and/or combining body lift with
suspension lifts voids all warranties. Rough Country makes no claims regarding lifting devices and excludes any
and all implied claims. We will not be responsible for any product that is altered.

Braking performance and capability are decreased when significantly larger/heavier tires and wheels are used.
Take this into consideration while driving.

The required installation time for this system is approximately ½ - 1 hour (see recommended tool list shown
below).

This suspension system was developed using a 33 x 12.50R – 17 and 18” tires, on a 8” wheel. Before installing
other combinations, please consult your local tire and wheel specialist.

The 1.5”-2” front leveling system comes standard with nothing for the rear. Personal preference, OE options, and
aftermarket add-ons may affect the amount of desired lift in the rear and this package can/may have been altered
to accommodate individual needs.

If questions exist we will be happy to answer any questions concerning the design, function, and correct use of our
products.

Any vehicle equipped with any Rough Country product should have a “Warning to Driver” decal installed on the
inside of the windshield or on the vehicle’s dash. The decal should act as a constant reminder for whoever is
operating the vehicle of its unique handling characteristics.

INSTALLING DEALER - it is your responsibility to install the warning decal and forward these installation
instructions on to the vehicle owner for review. These instructions should be kept in the vehicle for its service life.

FRONT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and chock the rear wheels.

2. Jack up the front of the vehicle and support with jack stands on
the frame rail.

3. Remove the front wheels and tires.

4. Steps 5-11 will be repeated for the opposite side.

5. Remove the stock shock absorber. Retain the lower shock
mount bolt for reuse if new shocks are being installed.

6. Remove the lower nut on the sway bar link (save for re-install)

7. Remove 10 mm bolt on brake line bracket to allow for
movement.

8. Using a floor jack, lower the axle to allow for the coil spring to
be removed from the coil mount. Take notice of the position of
the coil wraps on the top and bottom spring in the mount. See
Figure 1. The new Rough Country coil with its progressive rate
design built into the coil will be installed in the same position.

9. Install the coil spring with the smaller diameter opening to the bottom and upper end into factory coil
isolator.

10. Reinstall brake line bracket, sway bar end link, and shock absorber.

11. Install the wheels/tires. Jack up the vehicle with a floor jack, remove jack stands and lower vehicle to the
ground.

POST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Check all fasteners for proper torque. Check to ensure there is adequate clearance between all rotating,
mobile, fixed and heated members. Check steering gear for interference and proper working order. Test
brake system.

2. Perform steering sweep. Check to ensure brake hoses have sufficient slack and will not contact rotating,
mobile, or fixed members, adjust lines/brackets to eliminate interference and maintain proper working
order. Failure to perform inspections may result in component failure.

3. Readjust headlights to factory settings.

4. Have vehicle aligned by a certified alignment professional.

5. Re torque all fasteners after 500 miles. Visually inspect components and re torque fasteners during routine
vehicle service.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION

It is the ultimate buyers responsibility to have all bolts/nuts checked for tightness after the first 100 miles and then
every 1,000 miles. A qualified professional mechanic must inspect wheel alignment, steering system, suspension
and driveline at least every 3,000 miles.
