Modus operandi
ND filter is the abbreviation for neutral density filter. The ND filter is used to achieve a uniformly
moderate darkening of the image. In addition, it gives the image a uniformly neutral grey colour
so that the colour rendition cannot be altered. An ND filter makes the subject darker by several guide values thus preventing over-exposed images. Frequent applications for ND filters include taking shots with blur effects or of running water
under daylight conditions. ND filters are used with various degrees of darkening, depending on the
prevailing light conditions for the desired aperture and exposure time.

Technical Data
1. High colour fidelity:
Colour faults occur if the light attenuation does not cover the entire spectrum of visible light. For cameras, visible light is between 420 nm ~ 680 nm. The higher the rate of light attenuation, the less the amount of visible light that penetrates the filter, and the spectrum curve is not flat. If light can penetrate the filter uniformly, there is then no colour fault. Rollei filters meet this important requirement.

2. Low reflection (anti-reflective):
The double-sided anti-reflection coating prevents the high amount of reflection from metal coatings such as aluminium or chrome. Moreover, the double-sided coating is waterproof, anti-glare, anti-reflective and reduces reflections. In addition the filter can easily be cleaned.
3. Optical glass and HD (High Definition):
The filters are manufactured from fine, tempered H-K9L optical glass. Because of the double-sided grinding and polishing, the glass is finely executed and is thus of the highest quality.
4. Nano coating:
The filters have double-sided coatings, nano tempering and a water and oil-repellent coating. The nano coating is the foundation for extremely high colour-fidelity and low reflection so as to reduce light scatter and glare.
5. Scratch-resistant: High-quality materials and high-performance tempering make Rollei professional filters
scratch-resistant and easy to clean.
