1[CH1]–[CH3] knobs

Adjust the volume of the devices connected to CH1–CH3.

2[EFFECT] knob

The internal effect can be applied to the devices that are connected to CH1–CH3.

Depending on the position of the knob, it switches between two types of effects and adjusts the depth of the effect.

Effect

Explanation

REVERB

This effect adds reverberation to the sound.

An effect that adds a slightly modulated sound to CHORUS the direct signal, creating beautiful spaciousness and

depth.

This is a stereo chorus that processes the three frequency bands independently, creating a spacious,

WIDE

embracing effect.

The low range remains firmly localized in the center, and the sound will become more spacious as you go from the mid to the high range.

*The effect is not applied to the sound that’s being input from AUX IN jack.

3EQUALIZER

[LOW] knob

Adjusts the sound level of the low-frequency range.

[HIGH] knob

Adjusts the sound level of the high-frequency range.

4[MASTER] knob

Adjusts the overall volume.

*The [MASTER] knob does not adjust the signal that is output from the LINE OUT jack.

5PHONES jack

You can connect headphones here.

*If a plug is inserted in this jack, no sound will be output from the unit’s own speaker. This is convenient if you don’t want loud sound to be produced from the speaker, such as when you’re practicing at night.

6[POWER] switch

Turns the power on/off. When the power is on, the indicator at the left of this switch is lit.

*When operating on battery power only, the unit’s indicator will become dim when battery power gets too low. Replace the battery as soon as possible.

The EQUALIZER knobs and the [MASTER] knob do not affect the volume or tone of the output from the LINE OUT jack.

10FOOT SW jack

If a momentary-type footswitch (sold separately: FS-5U) is connected here, you can use your foot to turn the internal effect on/off.

FS-5U

11DC IN jack

Connect the included AC adaptor.

* Use only the AC adaptor that was included with the unit.

* To prevent the inadvertent disruption of power to your unit (should the plug be pulled out accidentally), and to avoid applying undue stress to the jack, anchor the power cord using the cord hook, as shown in the illustration.

12 Battery case

Installing batteries

1. Remove the screws from these two

locations.

2. Remove the battery compartment cover.

3. Insert batteries, taking care to observe the correct polarity.

* We recommend that you keep batteries

installed in the unit even though you’ll be powering it with the AC adaptor. That way, you’ll be able to continue a performance even if the cord of the AC adaptor gets accidentally disconnected from the unit.

*To prevent malfunction and speaker damage, make sure to switch off the KC-220’s power before you insert or replace its batteries, and before connecting it to other devices.

*If you handle batteries improperly, you risk explosion and fluid leakage. Make sure that you carefully observe all of the items related to batteries that are listed in “USING THE UNIT

SAFELY” and “IMPORTANT NOTES” (leaflet “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” and Owner’s manual (p. 7)).

Removing the battery case

Although it is possible to replace the batteries without removing the battery case, battery replacement will be easier if you remove the battery case.

1. Remove the screws from these two locations.

2. Remove the battery case.

*Take care that no metal object touches the contacts of the battery case. This can short-circuit the batteries, causing the case to overheat or burn.
