Safety is a combination of common
sense, staying alert and knowing how
your air mover works. Read this manual
to understand the air mover.
Safety Signal Words
DANGER: means if the safety inform ation
is not followed someone will be seriously
injured or killed.
WARNING: means if the safety information is not followed someone could be
seriously injured or killed.
CAUTION: means if th e sa fe ty in fo rm a tion is not followed someone may be
injured.
When using your Air Mover, follow basic
safety precautions including the following.
Read and understand this owner’ s manual and all labels on the Air Mover before
operating.
CAUTION: To reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock, or
injury:
• If your Air Mover is not working as it
should, has missing par ts, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return it to an
Authorized Service Center.
• Do not put any object into ventilation
openings. Do not operate with any
ventilation openings blocked; keep
free of dust, lint, hair or anything
that may reduce air fl ow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers,
and all parts of body away from
openings and moving parts.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy.
Close attention is necessary when
used near children.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock,
do not expose to rain. Store indoors.
• Unplug unit from outlet when not in
use and before ser vicing. Turn off ai r
mover before unplugging.
• Automatically operated protective
device -To reduce the risk of injury,
disconnect from power supply
before servicing.
• Do not used this air mover with any
solid state speed control device.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. T o
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use
cord as handle, close a door on
cord, or pull cord around sharp
edges or corners.
• Do not use with damaged cord, plug
or other parts.
• Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not handle plug or the air mover
with wet hands.
WARNIN G: To reduce the risk of fire
or explosion:
• Do not operate this machine near
flammable or combustible liquids,
gases, or explosive dusts like gasoline or other fuels, lighter fluid, cleaners, oil- based paints, natural gas,
hydrogen, coal dust, magnesium
dust, grain dust, or gun powder.
• Do not use or store near hazardous
or toxic materials.

The operation of any util ity blower can
result in foreign objects being blown into
the eyes, which can result in severe eye
damage. Always wear safety goggl es
complying with ANSI Z87.1 (or in Canada
CSA Z94.3-99) shown on package.
Everyday eyeglasses have only impact
resistant lenses. They are not safety
glasses. Safet y Gog gles are available at
many local retai l st ores. Glasses or goggles not in compliance with ANSI or CSA
could seriously hurt you when they break.

Only use extension cords that are rated
for outdoor use. Extension cords in poor
condition or t hat are too small in wire size
can pose fire and shock hazards. When
using an extensi on cord, be sure it is in
good conditi on. Using any extension cord
will cause some lo ss of power. To keep
the loss to a m in imu m , use th e fo l lowi n g
table to choose the minimum wire size

Information
The plug supplied on your air mover may
not fit into the outlet you are planning to
use. Your local electrical code may
require slightl y different power cord plug
connections. If these differences exist
refer to and make the proper adjust m ents
per your local code before your tool is
plugged in and turned on.
In the event of a malfuncti on or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electric current to reduce
the risk of elect ric sh ock. This ai r mov er is
equipped with an electric cord having an
equipment groundi ng conductor and a
grounding plug, as shown. The plug must
be plugged into a matching outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
Do not modify the plug prov ide d. If it will
not fit the outl et, have the proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician.
If power cord is worn or cut, or damaged
in any way, have it replaced immediately
by a qualified electrician.
If the grounding instructions are not completely unde rstood, or if you are in doubt
as to whether the tool is properly
grounded check wit h a qualified electrician or service personnel.
WARNING: Do not permit fingers
to touch the terminals of plug
when installing or removing the
plug from the outlet.

cause an electrical shock, particularly when used in damp locations.

Improper connecti on of the equipment
grounding conduc tor can res ult in a r i sk of
electric shock. The conductor with insulation having an outer surface that is green
with or without yellow stripes is the equipment grounding conductor. If rep air or
replacement of t he electric cord or plug is
necessary, do not connect the equipmentgrounding conductor to a live terminal.
A temporary adapter may be used to connect this p lug t o a 2-p ole outl et, a s shown,
if a properly grounded out let is not available. This temporary adapter should be
used only unti l a properly grounded outlet
can be installed by a quali fied electrician.
The green colored rigid ear, lug and the
like, extension from the adapter must be
connected to a permanent ground such
as a properly grounded outl et box.
NOTE: The adapter illustrate d is for u se
only if you already have a properly
grounded 2 prong recept acle.
NOTE: In Canada the use of a temporary
adapter is not permitt ed by the Canadian
Electrical Code.

Introduction

volumes of air. They are used to dry wet
carpets, floors and furniture. They may
also be used for ventilation.

Maintenance
The motor bearings have been packed at
the factory with proper lubricant and
require no additional lubrication.
If the polyethylene housing becomes
soiled it may be wiped off with a damp
cloth.

What is covered
RIDGID® tools are warranted to be free of defects in
workmanship and material.
How long coverage lasts
This warranty lasts for the lifetime of the RIDGID® tool.
Warranty coverage ends when the product becomes
unusable for reasons other than defects in workmanship
or material.
How can you get service
To obtain the benefit of this warranty, deliver via prepaid
transportation the complete product to RIDGE TOOL COMPANY, Elyria, Ohio, or any authorized RIDGID® INDEPE NDENT SERVIC E C EN T E R. P ip e wr enches an d other hand
tools should be returned to the place of purchase.
What we will do to correct problems
Warranted products will be repaired or replaced, at
RIDGE TOOL’S option, and returned at no charge; or, if
after three attempts to repair or replace during the warranty period the product is still defective, you can elect to
receive a full re fund of your purchase price.
What is not covered
Failur es due to mis use, abuse or normal wear and tear are
not covered by this warranty. RIDGE TOOL shall not be
respons ible for any in c idental or con s equential damages.
How local law relates to the warranty
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidenta l or con se quential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty
gives you specific rights, and you may also have other
rights, which vary, from state to state, province to province, or country to country.

This FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY is the sole and exclusive warranty for RIDGID® products. No employee, agent,
dealer, or other person is authorized to alter this warranty
