Since the introduction of our 45 and 55 page a
minute colour MFPs, we have dominated the
colour high speed general office and light
production markets. The original machines
sold in big numbers and generated huge
colour volumes. To extend that success we
have introduced successor models that build
on the strong features of the original products
and which come with new and enhanced
features.
The new models are the Aficio MP C6000 and
MP C7500. The productivity of the machines
has been increased to 55ppm colour / 60ppm
mono (Aficio MP C6000) and 70ppm colour /
75ppm mono (Aficio MP C7500).

The Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 are
available in two different configurations. SP
models ship with a pre-installed GW controller
to provide high speed high quality colour copy,
print and scan functionality. High speed fax is

a new option making the SP models ideal for
all general office applications.
Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 base models
ship as copiers but can be upgraded with
powerful EFI Fiery controllers that become
available in spring / summer 2008. The Fiery
controller option together with professional
finishing features like A3+ support, on-line
booklet making, stream punching and Z
folding will strengthen the machines’ appeal to
the production market.

targeted at professional print environments,

lacked some of the advanced specifications
demanded by the production market like
heavy weight media handling and fine colour

The Aficio MP C6000 replaces the Aficio
3260C and the Aficio MP C7500 replaces the
Aficio 5560C. Although based on a similar
platform, the new products are significantly
better than their predecessors.

Higher Productivity
The engine speed has been increased to
60/55 ppm (B&W/Col) and 75/70 ppm (B&W/
Col) for the MP C6000 and MP C7500, making
the MP C7500 the fastest machine in its class.
A new fusing unit using a specially designed
thin fusing roller works in with the new PxP™
low fusing temperature toner to dramatically
reduce warm up time. The Aficio MP C6000
and MP C7500 are ready to print less than 75
seconds after power up which is faster than
any competitor in their class. The lower fusing
temperature also helps reduce overall power
consumption.
The Cycle Down Time (process control and
self check time) of the new machines (2) and
(3) has been drastically reduced from that of
the predecessor models (1) helping to
increase the overall productivity of these
machines to the highest in their class.
10 Comparison with Predecessor
Enhanced Image Quality
Newly designed developer and fusing units
together with the use of new PxP™ toner have
further improved image quality.
The new developer unit improves the flow of
toner and developer throughout the unit,
resulting in more even solids and reducing
banding. It also reduces halo effects (1).
Softer surface on the fusing roller further
improve fusing and allow a greater latitude of
paper weights and since the pick-off pawls
don't touch the roller pawl stripes are
eliminated.
Not only does PxP™ toner fuse at lower
temperatures, the toner particles (2) are
smaller and more uniform in shape improving
the evenness, density and sharpness of
images.
Easier Operation
To make operation easier, the new machines
come with a colour 8.5 inch widescreen
operation panel (1).
The LCD panel, logo and tray handles all have
central positions on the device (2) making
them easier to locate.
The Login/Logout button (3) allows the user to
login and logout quickly helping to prevent
unauthorised use,
There is a one button switch (4) to a simplified
display mode. In this mode text is enlarged
and made easier to read and more complex
operations are hidden from view.
New status LEDs (5) positioned on the front
edge of the control panel are easily visible
from a distance showing users the machine
status without them having walk up to the
machine.
The Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 also
feature animated guidance for user
maintenance task like product clearing
misfeeds and replenishing toner and staples.

Better Paper Handling Specifications
The paper weight from standard trays has
been increased to 216 g/m² and the paper
weight from the bypass feed and new A3 LCT
to 300 g/m².
The standard 2 x 1100 A4 tandem tray (top
tray) can be converted into an 1100 sheet A3
tray, increasing the A3 paper capacity. With
the new A3 LCT fitted, the machine will hold
up to 4200 sheets of A3 on-line
A new A3 Large Capacity Tray supports paper
sizes up to A3+* and paper weights up to 300
g/m². It is equipped with the air assist
mechanism for better paper separation of
coated paper.
The A3 LCT uses the Bypass Tray entrance,
so with this option fitted there is no bypass
feed. The A3 LCT is perfect for applications
where there is a requirement to feed large
paper sizes and / or heavy paper weights on a
regular basis.

Professional Finishing Options
The GBC StreamPunch III unit enables the
user to punch documents at full engine speed
in seven standard binding formats. The
operator can quickly and easily change the die
set to change the punching style.
The Plockmatic BK5010 booklet maker with
optional trimmer and square folding function
(2a), enables the user to produce
professionally finished A4 and A5 booklets (2)
of maximum 120 pages (30 sheets). The
interposer also supports cover insertion (up to
300g/m²).
The Z-folder unit is an interesting option for
architects, construction companies, industrial
plants or any other organization that frequently
handles large schedules, tables or illustrations
that are difficult to present on anything smaller
than A3 (3).
Fax, Scan, Print and Security Features
A fax option, like that available with other
Aficio MFPs, is available with the Aficio MP
C6000 and MP C7500. The fax option
provides high speed G3 fax functionality and
means that in an office environment, the new
machines can act as document centres
handling communication as well as print. With
SP versions of the product, the fax option also
provides LAN Fax, Fax Forward to e-mail, Fax
Forward to Folder, Paperless Fax, IP Fax and
Internet Fax functions.
New scanning features (available with SP
versions of the product) include Scan to URL,
Scan to NCP, High Compression PDF, and
Preview before Scan. These features are
explained in more detail in the relevant
sections of this guide.
New print features (available with SP versions
of the product) include Imposition Settings,
Double Print, Speed Print, Creep, Crop Mark
printing, Mobile Driver and Mail to Print. These
features are explained in more detail in the
relevant sections of this guide.
New security features which are also
explained later in the guide include a simplified
Windows/LDAP/Basic authentication process,
Kerberos authentication, encrypted pdf
transmission and unauthorised copy
protection.

Hardware Configuration
Aficio MP C6000 and MC7500 basic models and SP models come as standard with the following
hardware:

Function Configuration
The Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 ship in one of two configurations. Basic models, Aficio MP
C6000 and MP C7500 ship as copiers. SP models, Aficio MP C6000SP and MP C7500SP ship as
print and scan ready document centres.
Basic models can be upgraded to provide print and scan functionality by adding a Fiery controller.
There are two Fiery controller options. Both launch in Spring / Summer 2008. The E-7100 is an
embedded controller. The E-8100 is a an external controller. There is no GW controller option for
basic models and they cannot be upgraded by adding GW print and scan functionality. Fax is an
option for basic models however the absence of a GW controller means that fax functionality is
limited to G3 fax. Basic models can not be upgraded to provide LAN fax or IP fax functionality.
SP models can be upgraded by adding PostScript and Fax functionality. Because the SP models
have GW controllers, adding fax functionality provides G3 fax, LAN fax and IP fax functionality. There
is no Fiery option for SP models and they can not be upgraded with Fiery controllers and utilities.

External Options
There is a wide range of standard external options available for the Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500
series. In addition to the standard finishing options, basic models can be configured with a heavy
duty Plockmatic Booklet Maker and / or a GBC Stream Punch. These two items are not options for
SP models.
The standard options allow SP models to be configured to meet all walk up applications in the
general office from basic copying and printing through to booklet making with externally produced
covers. The specialist options available for basic models mean that they can be configured for
dedicated use in production environments where non-stop production of neatly finished booklets is
likely to be a requirement.

The previous models were far superior to
competitor models and took a greater than
50% share of the high speed general office
colour market. As competitors introduce new
models, the competitive advantage enjoyed by
the original models will be eroded. The new
Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 boast
significantly improved specifications, new
features and functionality and a wider range of
handling options. The improvements mean
that we maintain the strong competitive
advantage that we hold over the competition,
making our products easier to sell.
Accelerate Colour Growth
Colour print is now a standard feature of the
general office market. As colour has become
more widely used, users have demanded
easier access to colour (more colour
machines) and greater colour productivity
(faster colour machines). By bringing faster
more productive colour engines to market, we
will fuel that demand and increase the rate of
black to colour conversion in high speed / high
volume general office applications.
Increase Sales Revenue
By promoting best-in-class black-to-colour
solutions into a fast growing market, we will
dramatically increase box sales and grow our
hardware revenues. Improvements to speed,
productivity and quality make the new
machines more desirable than competitor
machines. Improvements to functionality make
the new machines an even more viable
alternative to high volume black and white
machines than their predecessors. The new
machines can be used to replace slower, less
productive colour machines supplied by the
competition as well as to replace high volume
black and white machines using a black to
colour strategy.
Increase Colour Document Volume
Market acceptance of colour, combined with
the dramatic improvements we have made to
colour speed and colour quality will inevitably
lead to an increase in colour print ratios. With
little difference in productivity between colour
and black and white output and the ready
availability of automated online finishing, users
will be more inclined to print in colour. Colour
document ratios will increase leading to a
dramatic increase in revenue from service
click and consumables.
Stretch into Production
The improvements in speed and quality are
even more significant to the production
market. These improvements, combined with
wider paper handling specifications, new Fiery
controllers and a choice of professional
finishing options, make the Aficio MP C6000
and MP C7500 ideal for light production. In
Print Room, CRD and Pay-for-Print
environments, they present a compact and
affordable alternative to competitor ‘heavy
iron’ machines. Penetrating the production

capture enormous regular colour print volumes

Industry observers like Gartner, Dataquest
and Infosource predict huge growth in the sale
of colour capable MFPs, particularly higher
speed, higher productivity devices. The
European market is way ahead of the US and
Asia Pacific in its acceptance of colour.

50% of all high speed MFP sold will have

At the moment there is a large and virtually
untapped market for high speed, high
productivity colour MFPs. Whilst
manufacturers have introduced low to mid

Class Leading Performance
The Aficio MP C7500 produces colour output
at a breathtaking 70 pages a minute and black
and white at 75 pages a minute. That equates
to 4,200 colour pages an hour or more than
30,000 colour pages in a typical 8 hour
working day. Not bad for a machine that is no
larger than the average office copier.
The Aficio MP C6000 is fast too. It will produce
55 colour pages a minute and 60 black and
white. That sort of productivity means that the
choice between colour and black and white is
academic. There’s no waiting for colour with
an Aficio MP C6000 or MP C7500, full
productivity is maintained whether printing in
colour or black and white.
Continuous production speeds are:
MP C7500 -> 75/70ppm (mon/col)
MP C6000 -> 60/55ppm (mon/col)
ready to print less than 75 seconds after
power up which is faster than any competitor
in their class. The lower fusing temperature
also helps reduce overall power consumption.
Fast One-Off Copies and Prints
Fast continuous copy and print speeds are
one thing but with constant interruptions for
one-off copies and prints in the general office,
productivity can drop. But not with the Aficio
MP C6000 and MP C7500. An interrupt
feature allows one-off copies and prints to be
made without affecting job settings and with a
one-off colour page delivered in just 6.4
seconds (Aficio MP C7500) there is little or no
impact on overall productivity.

75 Second Warm Up
The extreme speeds are made possible by
advances in image processing technology. A
new fusing system employs a specially
designed thin fusing roller which works with
the newly formulated low fusing temperature
toner to dramatically reduce warm up time.

The Cycle Down Time (process control and
self check time) of the new machines has
been dramatically reduced from that of the
predecessor models to maintain overall

Full Speed Duplex
The Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 are
ready configured with a high-speed trayless
duplex. This unit automatically cycles paper
for double sided copy and print. The duplex
runs at full engine speed for incredibly fast
production of high quality double sided colour
and mono output. The combination of full
speed duplex and optional full speed booklet
maker means that professional full colour
booklets, brochures and magazines can be
produced in-house without any delay.
High Capacity ARDF
The integral ARDF feeds originals for
scanning and copying. It holds up to 100
sheets and can turn double sided originals
over automatically to scan both sides. The
scanner at close to full engine speed,
scanning black and white originals at 75
images a minute and colour originals at 60
images a minute. In copy mode, scan once
copy many technology means that originals
are scanned just once and returned to the
operator whilst copies are produced from
memory.

A large standard paper capacity of 3400
sheets can be expanded to a cavernous 7400
sheets with the addition of the optional 4000
sheet A4 LCT. Even without the LCT, the
ability to load paper into one tray whilst
feeding from another, means that these

PxP™ Toner
Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 use a new
specially formulated oil-less pulverised toner.
With the new toner these machines produce
even better image quality than their
predecessors.
The toner, which has ultra-fine uniformly
shaped particles, reduces graininess,
improves image density and evenness, and
helps achieve fine colour matching. The toner
also has a lower fusing temperature, a factors
driving the increased speed and productivity.
New Developer Unit
A new developer unit improves the flow of
toner and developer throughout the unit. A
more even mix of ultra-fine particle toner with
developer results in more even solids and
reducing banding. It also reduces halo effects.
The new developer unit also operates at a
lower temperature than that in the previous
machine and can help reduce overheating in
warm environments.
New Fusing Unit
Because the new toner fuses at lower
temperature, it has been possible to develop a
lower temperature fusing unit. Specially
designed thin fusing rollers reach working
temperature more quickly and are better able
to maintain temperatures better, resulting in a
faster warm up and improved output speeds.
In addition, a softer surface on the fusing roller
allows a greater latitude of paper weights to be
fused and since pick-off pawls don't touch the
roller pawl stripes are eliminated.
Copier Image Separation
Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 employ ASIC
technology (application specific integrated
circuits) for data processing. This technology
helps achieve better gradation of images
(smoother tones) and allows clear separation
of text and image in copying so that photo and
text / photo images are of an even higher
quality than before.

GW print controller, an embedded Fiery print

Ground Works (GW) Controller
The GW print controller is best suited for
general office print applications like the
production of letters, reports and presentations
using standard Windows packages such as

superb 4-bit, 600dpi resolution at a speed of
60 images per minute. Black and white
documents are scanned at a speed of 75

The machines boast a powerful 190GB
document server. This space is reserved
within the machines’ 2 160GB hard drives..
The document server can store up to 3000
documents or 15000 pages. Documents can
be scanned directly to the server for shared
access or received via fax, email or IP

Scan to Email
Scan to email is a user-friendly document
distribution solution. Hard copy documents
can be scanned in full colour at high resolution
and emailed directly to recipients.

With LDAP support (Lightweight Directory

Scan to Folder

between remote offices. Mixed operating
system environments like LINUX, UNIX and
MAC OS can browse the FTP server directly
and access the scanned documents.
Scan to URL
To reduce network traffic, documents can be
scanned into the document server and the
document URL forwarded by email. Recipients
can view the document stored in the server by

High Compression PDF
Conventional scanners have difficulty
maintaining a balance between file size and
image quality. The Aficio range uses High
Compression PDF for single and multipage
documents with optimal file size determined by
the scanner depending upon the ratio of image
to text. Generating compressed PDF files
reduce network traffic, particularly if printed
using PDF Direct Print (available with
PostScript option).
Thumbnail Search
Documents in the document server can be
searched by file name or by thumbnail. The
thumbnail feature can also be used to preview
and confirm document content before
reprinting.
Encrypted PDF Transmission
Scan-to-email and scan-to-folder documents
sent in PDF files can be encrypted and
password protected to ensure they are read
only by the intended recipient. This feature will
appeal to companies and departments
scanning confidential documents like new
product information, personal information and
contract information.
Drop Out Colour
This new feature enables users to screen out
a colour when scanning. This enables users to
remove information like handwritten notes
from a document before reproduction or
storage. As well as cleaning up the
appearance of documents, this feature will
enhance OCR capability and electric
document archiving.
High Speed Fax Option
The fax option allows the Aficio MP C6000
and MP C7500 to be used as a high speed fax
increasing the functionality of the machine.
With the fax option, A4 documents are
scanned less than 1 second and transmitted in
just 2 seconds using the a 33.6KB modem and
JBIG compression.
Preview Before Send
Previewing scanned documents before
transmission allows users to check the
accuracy and appearance of scanned data.
Users can check the file name, file size,
original page size, colour mode, scanning
direction and image quality.

With the option to add 1, 2 or 3 fax cards, the
Aficio MFP can handle up to 3 fax lines
simultaneously. The high speed print engine,
with large on-line paper capacity and
advanced communications features like LDAP
support and fax forwarding to email make the
Aficio MFP perfect for use as a centralised fax
hub.
Fax Number Search Via LDAP
LDAP directory support extends to email and
fax addresses. Fax numbers and email
addresses are updated automatically from
LDAP servers. Users can search for fax
numbers at the MFP control panel. Addresses
can be searched by Name, E-mail address,
number, Company and Department name.

IP Fax*
With the IP-Fax feature, users can send faxes
to, or receive faxes from, any IP-Fax machine
connected to the same network using TCP/IP
protocol. Senders use the IP address to
specify the destination machine, or the alias
number when using the gatekeeper. User can
also send faxes to the G3 fax machines
connected to PSTN via the VoIP gateways.
No E-mail server is required as IP-Fax
communicates with the destination fax
machines that are connected to the same
network directly. The transmission speed is
higher than using G3.
LAN Fax*
The LAN Fax feature allows users to transmit
fax messages directly from PC without need to
print out and re-scan, reducing the number of
steps taken to send a fax and increasing
desktop convenience.
Fax Forwarding to E-mail*
Inbound faxes can be routed directly to E-mail.
Users can program a single recipient or
multiple recipients. The inbound fax will be
converted to TIFF format and forwarded to the
E-mail destination for desktop convenience.
Alternatively faxes can be saved directly to the
Aficio’s document server. Email notification
and a URL link is sent to the administrator.
The fax is viewed in standard web browser by
clicking on the URL.

A Wide Variety of Peripherals
To meet the needs of the General Office and
Light Production markets, it is necessary to
offer a wide range of feed and finishing
options. The needs of the two markets are
very different and some peripherals are more
suited to one environment than the other. To
extend the range of options for the Light
Production market, the new machines can be
fitted with many of the heavy duty peripherals
from the MP 9000/1100/1350 series of black
and white production machines.

(CI5000)
A3/DLT LCT (RT4000)
The 2000 sheet A3/DLT LCT is a completely
new option. With this option fitted the MP
C6000 and MP C7500 can feed A3+ paper
sizes (12’x18’) and weights of up to 300g/m
The LCT has an Air Assist mechanism, which
helps achieve better paper separation, and
feeds via the by-pass feed of the MFP (the bypass cannot be used whilst this unit is
connected).
This option will particularly attractive to the
Light Production markets as it enables large
paper sizes to be fed for two-up and full-bleed
print. It also allows heavyweight media to be
fed for printing covers, cards and menus.

A4/LT LCT (RT43)
An alternative to the A3/DLT LCT, the 4000
sheet A4/LT LCT provides the means to
dramatically increase the online capacity of A4
paper. With the A4 LCT fitted, the paper
capacity of the Aficio MP C6000 and MP
C7500 is increased to 7400 sheets. The
maximum paper weight that can be fed via the
aA4 LCT is 128 g/m

A3 DLT Tray
An optional A3 tray replaces the 2 x 1000
sheet A4 tandem tray. This unit converts the
top tray to A3 format and increases the
machine’s A3 capability. This can be important
in environments where the bulk of output is A3
or where work will be produced two up and
trimmed to A4 after production.
Z Folding Unit (Z4000)
This unit is common to the MP9000/1100/1350
series and provides the means to fold A3/DLT
paper into A4/LT size documents and A4/LT
size paper into A5/HLT size documents for
use and filing. This option will find applications
in both the General Office market (in finance
departments for example where spreadsheets
and reports are produced) and in Light
Production (where there 4 page leaflets and
fliers are produced). This unit can be attached
to either the 100 Sheet Staple Finisher
(SR5000) or the 50 Sheet Staple Finisher
( SR4010).

installs on top of the Shift Tray and gently taps
collated sets into perfect alignment prior to

100%. 100 sheet per set stapling capacity
allows thick documents to be professionally
finished. Multiple staple positions enable
proper binding of documents in all paper sizes/
orientations.
The system temporarily stops printing when
3,000 sheet shift tray capacity is reached and
restarts automatically when emptied. The shift
tray offset stacks document sets that are not
stapled for easier set separation.
Please note that an optional Finisher Adapter
is necessary when you connect the SR5000 to
the MP C6000 and MP C7500.
2 / 4 Hole Punch
An option for the SR5000 finisher, the hole
punch provides full-speed on-line punching of
documents in either 2 or 4 hole format. The
user selects which hole format is required
through the print driver or at the touch panel.
The system saves the user manually punching
documents after production or using more
expensive pre-punched paper.
100 Sheet Staple Finisher (SR5000)
The SR5000 brings production-level finishing
to high volume environments with 3,000 sheet
capacity for long periods of unattended
operation. The finisher has two delivery

There is also a 50 sheet staple finisher option
for Aficio MP C6000 and MP C75000. This
unit can staple up to 50 sheets of paper in four
positions. The shift tray will hold 3000 sheets
and the proof tray, another 250 sheets. This
finisher id likely to be the preferred option for
the General Office market. There is a 2/4 hole
punch option for this finisher (Punch Unit Type
3260) and a jogger option (Output Jogger Unit
Type 3260).

2000 Sheet Finisher with Saddle Stitch
Staple (SR4020)
The 2000 sheet booklet maker option is a
staple finishing and saddle stitch finishing
option for the General Office market. The shift
tray will hold up to 2000 sheets stapled in up
to 5 positions including saddle stitch. The unit
will also staple Z folded documents produced
using the Z fold option. With this unit, the
customer can produce normal collated and
stapled document sets or professionally
finished colour booklets of up to 60 sides (15
sheets) in-house. There is a 2/4 hole punch
option for this finisher (Punch Unit Type 3260)
and a jogger option (Jogger Type 3260).
9-Bin Mail Box (CS391)
CS391 is 9-Bin Mailbox option which can be
attached to the 50 sheet Staple Finisher &
Saddle Stitch Staple Finisher. Ideal for the
general Office, it allows users to route finished
print jobs to a mail box for collection when
convenient. Each mail box tray will hold up to
100 sheets. Please not, CS391 can not attach
to the 100 sheet Staple Finisher (SR5000).
2 Source Cover Interposer (CI5000)
A 2 station cover sheet interposer can be
installed between the mainframe and finisher.
The interposer is used to feed pre-printed
material for inclusion as covers. The
interposer has a dual 200 sheet capacity and
will feed material of up to 216gsm.
This option allows users to insert pre-printed
or full colour sheets into live job streams for
collation and finishing. It provides cost
effective pre-printed integration with new print
output. Dual trays allows for different covers to
be placed on the front and back of each set.
Cover Interposer (CI3260)
There is also a single source cover interposer
option for Aficio MP C6000 and MP C75000.
The single tray version can feed up to 200
font/back covers of A5 to A3 size paper and
weights of up to 216g/m

GBC Stream Punch
The GBC Stream Punch is a third party punch
system common to the Aficio MP
9000/1100/1350. It can be installed in
combination with the SR5000 Finisher. The
system will punch paper of weights of up to
216 g/m
punched individually. The punch unit is fully
integrated and can be operated directly from
the touch panel display or from the RPCS
printer driver. With several different punch dies
available, it can eliminate all manual off-line
punching saving operators considerable
manual effort and time.
Pre printed and colour sheets can be punched
in-line using the new dual tray Interposer. Die
sets are easily interchanged without special
tools or levers to produce professionally
finished manuals and guides with precise hole
alignment for sets with pages that are easy to
turn. The die sets available are:

Another third party solution for Light
Production applications, the Plockmatic
BK5010 booklet maker and associated options
is an on-line / off-line finishing system that
attaches to the SR5000 finisher.
The BK5010 produces heavy-weight booklets
with professional finish at full engine speed.
Using this system, users can easily produce
booklets of up to 120 pages (30 sheets) with
centre staple booklet fold or centre staple
square-back fold.
Optional Accessories include:
- CF5010 Cover Feeder to insert up to 200 pre
printed / colour sheets as covers
- BF5010 Book Folder to create a square fold
from a saddle stitched book
- TR5010 Trimmer Unit to trim the open edge
of booklets for a professional finish
The standard components of the BK5010
include the Booklet Maker, Belt Stacker and
Rail Unit. Customers can add the Trimmer,
Cover Feeder and Book Folder as options to
build a finishing system to their exact
specifications.
The system brings professional quality
finishing to all high volume environments. It
produces booklets that are twice as large as
ordinary booklet finishers - up to 30 pages
(120 sheets) on various paper sizes. The Belt
Stacker provides capacity to hold a large

Colour Print Solutions
SP versions of the MPC6000 and MP C7500
boast advanced GW print, scan and share
functionality. The Aficio MP C7500 will print in
full colour at 70 pages a minutes and the
Aficio MP C6000 at 55 pages a minute.
Basic versions of the product can be
configured to print by adding one of two Fiery
controllers. Please note, there is GW option
for basic models.
Network Ready
SP version of the product are network ready.
The integral printer card connects directly to
Ethernet networks enabling the product to be
shared as a network printer / scanner by
multiple users; increasing throughput and
ensuring a fast return on investment.
High-Speed Network Options
Other network options include a Wireless LAN
interface with WPA (security) support for
connection to a wireless network; Bluetooth
interface, Parallel interface and PictBridge
Camera interface. The Wireless LAN option

RPCS and PCL Drivers
The RPCS driver (Refined Print Command
Stream) allows the user to save regular print
setting for easy selection, Booklet printing

example be saved under an icon for simple
one-click selection.
PCL drivers are industry standard print drivers
that provide similar print functionality and
operation irrespective of manufacturer or
model. The commonality of PCL drivers
means that many IT departments favour
printers with PCL functionality.
PS3 Option
Genuine Adobe PostScript 3 is an option for
SP versions of the Aficio MP C6000 and MP
C7500. PostScript is necessary for printing in

Mail to Print (requires PS3 option)
Mail to Print is a new feature that enables
users to send an email with attached data

Mobile Driver

Black-Over-Print
The Black-Over-Print feature renders black
toner over a full background image for litho
quality overlays. It helps avoid unsightly print
effects like haloing (where a white background
is visible behind black text laid over an image).
CLP Colour Simulation
The Colour Simulation feature allows the
Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 to emulate
HP laser printer profiles for consistent colour
output across multiple production devices.
This feature may prove useful when selling
into an environment where there are already
HP Colour Laser Jet printers as it will show
that the Aficio can produce output of similar
appearance to the HP.
A ‘mobile driver’ is a common driver that can
be used for all Aficio MFPs and printers
configured with the PS3 print option. The
advantage of the driver is that a single easyto-use print interface can be used across a
number of different machines. Field based
staff calling into branch offices with different
Aficio devices do not need machine specific
print drivers . Using the mobile driver they can
print easily to any PS3 configured Aficio
device.
PDF Direct Print (requires PS3 option)
A feature of the PostScript option, PDF Direct
Print enables PDF documents to be printed
without being opened at the PC, reducing
network traffic and the time taken for data
transfer. Although PDF files are relatively
small, when changed to print data they
become larger and can place unnecessary
load on the network. A 325KB PDF file can, for
example, become a 2.18MB print file when
printed through a windows driver. PDF Print
Direct solves this problem by allowing the
printer controller to receive the PDF file
directly from the PC and generate printable
data in the controller. The network traffic (load
transmission) will be reduced and productivity
increased.
Bonjour
Bonjour is Apple Computer's version of
ZeroConf (Zero Configuration Networking), a
set of protocols that enables a device on an IP
network to automatically recognize and
connect with other devices on the network. To
the end user, this means that when a new
device connects to the network, every
computer on the network is able to use it
instantly without any setup or special
configuration. Bonjour uses IETF standards for
both Link Local Addressing (LLA) and
Multicast DNS (mDNS). mDNS allows the new
device to advertise its existence and the
services it offers. LLA looks around,
negotiates with other devices on the subnet,
and picks a suitable IP address for the device.
Bonjour provides users with the following three
solutions:
Addressing (allocating IP addresses to
hosts)
Naming (using names to refer to hosts
instead of IP addresses)
Service discovery (finding and using
services on the network)

The Aficio MP C6000 and MP C7500 can be
configured to print in non-windows
environments like those used by many
companies to print reports, invoices and
forms. Host operating systems like UNIX and
Linux, SAP/R3IBM, AS/400 and Novel NDPS
generate data streams that are not be
recognised by conventional printers. With use
of simple downloadable filters, the Aficio MFP
can be configured to read ASCII data streams
and print out host data that would otherwise
be printed on line-printers.

Basic versions of the Aficio MP C6000 and MP
C7500 can be configured with one of two EFI
Fiery controllers to provide professional print
and scan functionality. The Fiery E-7100 is an
embedded RIP, whilst the Fiery E-8100 is a an
external RIP. Neither controller is available
immediately on launch but will become
available in Spring / Summer 2008.
Fiery controllers are the de facto choice in
many professional print environments. Fiery
controllers provide close control over job
Colour Matching
Most of us use Microsoft Office for our day to
day work. Microsoft Office uses RGB data as
a way of displaying colour on the Screen.
When it comes to print, we use CMYK Toner
to produce a Colour Page. So Colour
conversion and matching is important to
ensure that printed colours closely resemble
those on screen. The Fiery controller has the
ability to covert RGB images to CMYK print
data, whilst at the same time making sure that
if a file has CMYK data this is not affected.
Using the Fiery, experienced users can adjust
colour conversion settings on a job by job
basis to suit their needs.

The screen may look complicated but the
settings, once made are normally left alone;
the controller will just get on with the job in
hand.
Pantone Colours (‘Spot On’ Option)
The Fiery controller has the ability to print Spot
colours. They are normally referred to as
Pantone Colours but not all can be printed as
many Pantones colours use more than just
CMYK Inks. Using the Fiery, users can
produce Pantones that are within the Colour
Range of the Copier using CMYK Toner.
What are Pantone Colours? Ready mixed inks
used within the Offset Press environment. The
inks can be purchased straight off the shelf
ready to use, or an offset press operator can
make up the chosen colour using various base
inks. With the later option the colour accuracy
is down to the experience of the mixer! There
can be up to 17 base ink colours used to make
Pantone colours including White ink. The
CMYK process on a colour copier/printer uses
just the 4 Toner colours - Cyan Magenta
Yellow and Black.
Corporate colours are often chosen from the
Pantone library. Some companies deliberately
choose colours that are not able to be printed
or recreated using just CMYK which stops
people trying to copy or counterfeit goods.
Most applications that support named colours
send the print job to the printing device with
the named Colour as well as the application’s
own interpretation of CMYK data for that
colour. Different software applications interpret
the CMYK data in different ways with the
result that prints from different applications
often present Pantone colours in different
ways.
The Fiery controller works differently, it
ignores the CMKY data for the named colour
and uses its own reference table. When
different applications demand the same
named colour, the Fiery outputs the same
colour, achieving a more consistent output.
Not all Pantone colours can be printed using
just CMKY Toner, so please do not assume
that all colours will be printed accurately, the
Fiery controller will print Pantone colours that
use Process colours (CMYK) within the colour
capabilities of the engine being used. So
another manufacturer’s machine may not be
able to print certain colours that we can.
Auto Trapping (Option)
Auto Trapping is an option for the Fiery
version of the product. When this option is
fitted the Fiery controller looks at the print data
and looks for areas that might produce a white
Halo around an image. Where found, the
controller will adjust the print data to “Fill in”
the area concerned.
This sample illustrates a File that has been
printed without Auto Trapping. You can see a
white halo effect where text has been overlaid
over a coloured background.

turned ON. The white area around the edges
has been eliminated by “Filling in” this area.

documents. Using Spot On, the user can
make the adjustment without having to open
each document in the original application.
With the Spot On option, the user can instruct
the Fiery to look for a particular named colour
or RGB/CMYK value and replace it with
another Named Colour or CMYK value. Using
this method a more consistent output is
achieved regardless of application or the
user’s ability.
When Installed, Spot On is available from the
ColourWise Tools Main Screen.

Hot Folders (Option)
This utility allows for the printing of PDFs
without using a dedicated printer driver, a “Hot
Folder” is created on the PC desktop, users
then simply drag the PDF (or PostScript / Tiff
file) onto the folder and the job will be sent to
the Fiery controller be processed and printed.
Different settings can be applied to different
folders, for example –
One folder named (Duplex) is set up to
simply Duplex all pages of a PDF when it’s
sent to this folder
A second folder could be set up for Double
siding and to be stapled in the top left
hand corner.
A third Folder could be set up to produce a
Booklet that’s A4 in size, its folded and
saddle stapled.
This makes it easier for the general user to
print files, this feature is also useful in a print
room type environment, and a Folder may be
named after a Customer who always wants
the same job settings applied to all of their
jobs when they are printed.
Efi Impose (Option)
The simplest form of Imposition is the creation
of a booklet, the Ricoh RPCS & PCL drivers
have a Function that will allow the pages to be
re paginated so that when the document is
stapled and folded the pages are in the correct
order.
Basic Imposition is included within the Fiery
driver, for easy Booklet creation, there is also
another way of Imposing documents, and this
is on the controller and is therefore
independent of driver and operating system
sending the print job.
There are a number of standard Templates
that are pre defined or users can control the
settings themselves.
Hot Folder Icons are placed on the Desktop,
PDF files are then dragged onto these Icons
and the Jobs sent to the Controller. These
Icons could be different Job Settings or named
for a particular customer. Hot Folder settings
are easily changed.

Documents stored in the document server can
be viewed using web image monitor. In
addition, scan and fax documents saved in the
document server can be forwarded to email,
fax or folder destinations using web image
monitor.
Copy and print documents can also be
accessed but the File Format Converter option
is required for these file types.
SmartDeviceMonitor for Client
SmartDeviceMonitor for Client can increase
productivity. Using SmartDeviceMonitor, the
user can check device status without needing
to visit the machine. SmartDeviceMonitor
shows for example whether a machine is online and has paper.
SmartDeviceMonitor for Client offers some
unique additional features, in the form of
SmartDeviceMonitor-port.
The software enables the user to monitor
network devices from his PC in the Windows
taskbar (1a). The status of the device is shown
using icons (1b). More detailed information
can be obtained by clicking on the icon in the
windows taskbar. This will open a new window
(2a), showing more information (2b). By
clicking on a specific device in the list, all
information available becomes visible (3).
The recovery print function (1) improves the
workflow by checking the status of the
selected printer prior to sending the job. If the
printer is not available, it will automatically
search for other available printers on the
network, saving the customer having to search
for one manually.
The parallel print function (2) allows a big print
job to be automatically balanced over 2 or
more devices on the same network, improving
productivity.
The notification function (3) informs the user
when the completed print job has been
delivered to the output bin, saving the
customer from having to check it personally!
Network Device Management
When a network device is not responding, the
IT-department needs to know what is wrong,
without walking to the machine. The Aficio MP
C6000 and MP C7500 provide this information
via the SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin and
Web SmartDeviceMonitor utilities.

DeskTopBinder Lite
To search (view) a document, DeskTopBinder
Lite offers different viewing options. The
thumbnail view (1) gives the user a preview of
the document.
The user can combine stored images and

RPCS driver, it is possible to add headers/
footers, page, stamp and punch functions to
the complete document.
DeskTopBinder Lite also enables you to edit a
