AM General’s Hummer is one of most rugged and capable 4X4’s ever
built. Development of the Hummer originally be gan in 1979, when the U.S.
Army needed a High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (H MMWV, o r
“Humvee” for short). The Hummer quic kly p roved itself as a hig hly v ersatile,
effective mil itary vehic le, and became so popular that AM General introduced
a civilian versi on of the Hummer in 1 992. The Hummer rem ains in widesprea d
use in the U.S. Army and comme rcial industrie s, and is a very popula r “status”
vehicle amo ng the g eneral publ ic.
The Hummer’s main body is made of a strong, heat- treated aluminum all oy,
held togethe r with mo re than 2, 800 rivets for unmatched durabili ty. It features
a 4-wheel, fully indepe ndent suspen sion system with heavy-d uty springs
and hydraulic shock absorbe rs, plus a Central Tire Inflati on System (CT IS)
that e nables the dr iver to infla te or deflate the Hummer’s tir es rig ht from the
driver’s seat for better traction. With its low center of gravity, 72 inch track
width, and a full 16 inches of ground clearance, the Hummer can tackle almost any o ff
road terrain, a nd with a snorke l kit,
it is capable of ford ing 60 inches
of water.

When applying stickers, avoid touching the “sticky” side to prevent finger prints on stickers. Bend sticker sheet slightly to lift edge of sticker & use a finger-
nail to lift sticker from sheet. Line up sticker on body and press an edge into place, slowly working sticker with a finger nail until sticker is fully on model.
