When using an electrical shaver, basic pre c a u t i o n s should always be followed including the following. Read all instructions before using this shaver.

Except when charging, always unplug this

Never operate this shaver if it has a dam-

(spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
Do not use this shaver with a damaged or

Always attach plug to shaver, then to outlet.
To disconnect, turn all controls to “Off”, then remove plug from outlet, then detach power cord from the shaver for storage.
Always pull on cord plug to unplug from
wall socket. Never pull on electric cord.
Do not plug or unplug shaver when hands
are wet.
Always store your shaver and cord in a
moisture-free area. Make sure your cord is disconnected from the shaver.

used for shaving the hair on your head.

Getting Used To Your Shaver
MicroFlex®Extra features more blades than any other rotary for an extra close,extra comfortable,extra fast shave ­Guaranteed!
As with every shaver,your shaver will improve over time. So allow about three weeks to develop an effective shaving style
and for your skin to adjust to the new shaver.The adaptation period may take a little longer if your skin is sensitive,if you are switching from a different way of shaving,or if you alternate between shaving methods.
Turn on the Shaver
Push up the on/off button while pushing in its locking bar. (Locking bar on R-842 and R-845 only)
Mustache Trimming
Hold shaver heads at the desired trim line for a quick,easy,professional trim. Trim the upper edge of your moustache with the Easy-View®pop-up trimmer.
Pop Up the Trimmer
Hold the shaver as shown,and push up
the trimmer button to pop it up for use. To conserve energy,we recommend using the trimmer only when needed for trimming.When you’re done,push the
trimmer button downward to lock it in the off position.
Trim Sideburns
Touch the cutting edge of the trimmer to your sideburn for a neat,clean line.
More Quality Shaving Products
For a smoother,more comfortable,moisture-free shave,use the Remington®Pre-Shave Powder Stick (SP-5) or the non-greasy Remington®Pre-Shave Lotion,(SP-6) specially formulated with aloe for extra conditioning and protection.
Tips For Use
• Clean your shaver frequently.
• A lw ays keep the protective headquard on the shav e r , and k e e p the trimmer in the o ff position when the shaver is not in use.
• Before using,make sure that the cutter head assembly is in locked position.
• Wait at least 15 minutes after getting up before shaving.
• Thoroughly cleanse and dry your skin prior to shaving.
Operation Instructions
The MicroFlex®Extra shaver needs no adjustments to the heads or cutters before you shave.The floating heads will automatically adjust to the contours of your face.It is not necessary to apply pressure while shaving; just let the shaver glide lightly on your skin.This gentle touch makes shaving easier and helps avoid possible skin irritation.
Cleaning Your Shaver
TO ASSURE SMOOTH,EFFICIENT PERFORMANCE,IT IS IMPORTANT TO CLEAN YOUR SHAVER.
S i m p ly pull the head assembly out from the shaver by placing fingers on rib areas of head assembly.Using the shaver brush, clean the internal part of the head assembly and the hair pocket a r e a ,where 3 shaver spindles are locat e d .
Clean under the cutter assembly at least once a week.Open the s h aver head and unscrew the center screw knob to remove the cutter retainer assembly. Then simply brush out the hairs and d u s t . After c l e a n i n g ,replace the cutter assembly.
When is it time to replace your heads and cutters?
It is very important to replace your heads and cutters when necessary to insure a cl o s e , comfortable shave without irritat i o n .We recommend they be replaced every 12 months. Here are some signs of head and cutter wear, i n d i c ating that replacement is needed.
I r r i t a t i o n
As the heads get excessively worn you may experience some skin irritat i o n .This would be especially noticeable when you apply after- s h ave lotion.
P u l l i n g
When the cutters wear you may feel a sense of pulling and a loss of closeness when you s h av e .This is an indication that it is time to replace your heads and cutters.

Important! Make sure to align the two locating holes in the Cutter Retainer assembly with the pins in the Head

Frame Assembly.(See illustration A).Then tighten center screw knob to lock the cutters into place.Put the head assembly onto the shaver simply by pushing in onto the shaver.Replace the plastic headguard after cleaning. When removing the headguard or placing it back onto the shaver,do not apply pressure to floating cutter surfaces,as you may damage them.
Never clean the shaver or replace the cutters while it is plugged into electrical outlet.

• Connect the cord to the shaver and then to the electric outlet. The Charging Indicator light will glow green,indicating your shaver is charging.

Connect cord to shaver and then to electrical outlet.Make sure shaver is turned off before plugging cord into outlet.

Battery Removal

When your rechargeable shaver reaches the end of its useful life,the batteries must be removed from the shaver and be recycled or disposed of properly in accordance with your local and state requirements.
The following procedures should be followed
The EPA certified RBRC®B at t e ry Recycling Seal on the nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery indicates Remington Products Company,L.L.C.is voluntarily participating in an industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful life,when taken out of service in the United States or Canada.The RBRC®program provides a convenient alternative to placing used Ni-Cd batteries into the trash or the municipal waste stream,which may be illegal in your area.

• Make sure your shaver is unplugged from any outlets,so you don’t risk an electrical shock.
• Remove the Head Assembly by gently lifting the assembly away from the shaver.
• Using a small Phillips head screwdriver,remove the screws from the upper and lower back of the shaver.
• Pull or gently pry the the shaver halves apart, exposing the battery.
• Hold each battery in place and very carefully slide the clips from the terminals on each battery.
• Lift or pry the battery out of the shaver. CAUTION:THESE NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERIES MUST BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED IN ACCOR­DANCE WITH STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS. Do not burn or mutilate,as they may burst or release toxic materials.Do not short circuit,as it may cause burns.
