INSTALLATION
DESCRIPTION
The PBS70 Water Pressure Booster System is a portable Unit which raises the potable water supply pressure
from it’s current input pressure to at least 65 PSI (4.5 BAR). The Unit is used in conjunction with typical post–
mix beverage dispensing equipment. The Unit controls activate a pump to begin charging a water accumulator
tank when the water tank pressure is 65 PSI (4.5 BAR) or less and turn off the pump when the pressure reaches 85 PSI (5.9 BAR).

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock––This pump is supplied with a grounding–type
attachment plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, be certain that the pump is
connected only to a properly grounded grounding–type receptacle.
The electrical power source must agree with that stamped on the motor nameplate. All electrical connections
must conform with National, State, and Local Electrical Codes.
WATER SUPPLY AND CONNECTIONS
Connect pump inlet to a potable water supply of ample capacity. Water pipe connections and fixtures directly
connected to a potable water supply shall be sized, installed, and maintained according to Federal, State, and
Local Laws.
The water supply line size should be equal to 3/8–inch (0.95 cm) pipe or larger, depending upon the water line
length.
Install a shut–off valve and a union in the water supply line. Before connecting the water supply line to the
pump, flush the water line thoroughly to remove all scale, rust, etc.
NOTE: A wire mesh strainer is provided on the pump inlet connection as a protection against large particles of rust, scale, etc; which may be loosened in the water supply line at the time of installation. This
strainer will not prevent fine particles of matter from damaging the pump; therefore, a good water filter
is recommended in any installation and absolutely essential when the water supply line contains solids. It is important that the water circuit be entirely free of joint compound or oil of any kind.
An electrical pressure switch regulates water pressure between 65 PSI (4.5 BAR) and 85 PSI (5.9 BAR). The
settings are factory set.
The connection from the Pressure Booster System to the beverage dispenser must be made with approved
plastic beverage tubing or stainless steel. This line should be of uniform size and be free from restrictions to
maintain maximum pressure. Recommended tubing sizes are 1/4–inch (0.64 cm) up to 10–feet (3.05 m) and
3/8–inch (0.95 cm) for large or longer runs. Sufficient excess line must be provided for Unit to be moved for
cleaning.
