31204 CRACKER MOTOR CONVERSION KIT

This kit allows replacement of the shaded pole cracker motor (2 wires) by an alternate capacitor type motor (3
wires). Performance of both motors is identical.

Note: on units which contain two cracker motors, repeat the installation steps for each motor. See at­tached installation drawing.

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect all power from unit.

2. Remove old motor. Note wire connection in electric box.

3. Install new motor. Be sure cracker bar is properly seated on shaft and pivot pin.

4. Locate clear area on bulkhead panel for capacitor mounting, as shown. Mark and drill holes for clamp, and
mount capacitor using sheet metal screws provided.

5. Connect motor and capacitor as shown. Install rubber cap on capacitor. Connect leads to original location
in electric box.

6. Energize icemaker and confirm proper operation of cracker motor. Check that cracker bar does not hit
evaporator plate. Installation is now complete.

Order future replacement motors under the original part number (30487). If shaded pole motor is provided in the
future, connect as originally and disregard the capacitor.
