30409 REPLACEMENT KIT
Due to the unavailability of the r--502 copeland compressor it is necessary to convert icemaker to r--12 operation.
1. Disconnect all power from unit.
2. Remove plastic housing around lowside.
3. Purge refrigerant from system.
4. Disconnect suction & discharge lines from compressor.
5. Remove electrical wires (6) from compressor (3 from dispenser, 3 from icemaker electrical box).
6. Remove mounting nuts and lift compressor out.
7. Install new compressor.
8. Solder discharge line to compressor stub.
9. Replace suction line on Rotolock valve on compressor.
10. Remove thermostatic expansion valve. Check condition of flares, and reflare if needed.
11. Install new thermostatic expansion valve.
12. Add small amount to r--12, enough to pressurize system and check for leaks.
13. Pull a deep vacuum.
14. Reconnect wires from dispenser and icemaker electrical box as shown in attached diagram.
15. Charge system with 1-1/2 lbs. or r--12 and check for leaks. Replace plastic housing on lowside, let icemaker run.
16. For icemakers using a pressure control to initiate harvest, readjust as shown on attached sheet.
17. Remove old name and data plate from icemaker and install new name and data plate provided filling in model and serial numbers. NOTE: Change last digit in model number from 5 to 0 (EX: IV205 becomes
IV200).

CORRECT ICE THICKNESS IS 1/4 -- 5/16? IF ICE IS TOO THICK (SUCTION PRESSURE TOO LOW), TURN THICKNESS ADJUSTMENT COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
IF ICE IS TOO THIN (SUCTION PRESSURE TOO HIGH), TURN THICKNESS ADJUSTMENT CLOCKWISE.
CAUTION: MAKE ADJUSTMENTS IN 1/8 TURN INCREMENTS, AND WAIT TWO CYCLES BEFORE CHECKING.
