Upgradeconsiderations
Beforeyouperformtheupgrade,thefollowingconsiderations
needtobetakenintoaccount:
Digitalswitching
UpgradingtoLightHouse™3willeraseallDigitalswitching
filesloadedonyourMFD.Onceerased,thesefileswillbe
unrecoverable,potentiallyrenderingtheDigitalswitchingsystem
unusable.
Digitalswitchingsolutionsmustbeconverted,beforeperforming
theupgradetoLightHouse™3.ContactRaymarineT echnical
Support,whowillguideyouthroughtheprocessandperformthe
necessaryfileconversion.
Autopilots
LegacySea Talk®andSPXautopilotscannotbecontrolledby
MFDsrunningLightHouse™3.APilotcontrolheadwillberequired
tocontrollegacyautopilotsystems.
MFDnetworking
•LightHouse™2MFDscannotbeconnectedtothesamenetwork
asLightHouse™3MFDs.
•aSeries,cSeriesandeSeriesMFDscannotbeupgradedto
LightHouse™3andcannotbeconnectedtothesamenetwork

When upgrading from LightHouse ™ 2 to LightHouse ™ 3 the
Available software version column will remain blank and
‘Re - install’ is displayed. Select and hold on the Available
column to confirm the version number of the software
upgrade you are about to install and then select Install .

yourupgradedeSorgSMFDtoasystemalreadycontaining
Axiom™MFDs.
11.Ifrequested,selectaDatamasterMFDand/orcompletethe
Startupwizard.
PerformingtheLightHouse™3upgrade
PerformingtheupgradeprocedurewillupgradealleSSeriesand
gSSeriesMFDsonthenetwork.
Pre-requisites:
•YoureSorgSSeriesMFDmustberunningLightHouse™2
Release15orgreatertoperformtheupgrade.Priorreleasesof
LightHouse™2willnotrecognisethesoftwareupgradefile.
•Youshouldbackupyouruserdataandanymediafilesbefore
performingtheupgrade.
1.DisconnectandremoveanyaSeries,cSeriesoreSeries
MFDsfromyournetwork.
2.DownloadtheLightHouse™3upgradefilefromtheRaymarine®
website:
i.Gotoww.raymarine.com/software.
ii.ClickMFDsoftware.
iii.ClickeS&gSSeriesModelsOnly.
iv.Followtheinstructionstodownloadtheupgradefile.
3.PerformaUserdatabackupfollowingtheSavingalluserdata
toamemorycardprocedure.
4.IfyouhaveanymediafilessavedonyourMFDthatyouwantto
keep,theseshouldalsobecopiedtoaMicroSDcardfollowing
theCopyingmediafilesprocedure.
5.Copythedownloadedupgradefiletotherootdirectoryofyour
MicroSDcard,ensuringthatnoothersoftwareupdatefiles
arepresentonthecard.
6.InserttheMicroSDcardintoacardreaderslotonyourMFD.
7.Performthesoftwareupdateprocedure:
i.SelectCheckCardforUpdatesfromtheMaintenance
menu:(Homescreen>Set-up>Maintenance>Check
CardforUpdates).
ii.SelectOK.
iii.SelectthecheckboxforeachMFDthatyouwantto
upgrade.
In a mixed MFD network it is recommended that an Axiom ™
MFD is selected as the Datamaster .
12.Ifapplicable,restoreyouruserdatafollowingtheImportuser
dataprocedure.
13.FamiliariseyourselfwiththenewLightHouse™3operating
systembyreviewingtheLightHouse™3operationinstructions
availablefromthewebsite.
Savingalluserdatatoamemorycard

WiththeHomescreendisplayed:
1.Ensureyouhaveamemorycard(NOTachartcard)inserted
intoacardslot.
2.SelectMyData.
3.SelectImport/Export.
4.SelectSaveData.

6.Usingthekeyboard,enterthefilenameyouwanttosavethe
fileas.
7.SelectSAVE.
Theselectexternalstoragedialogisdisplayed.
8.SelectSD1(singleortopcardreaderslot)orSD2(bottomcard

Aconfirmationdialogisdisplayed.

WithaMicroSDcardinsertedintoacardreaderslotofyourMFD:
FromtheHomescreen:
1.SelectMyFilesfromtheMyDatamenu:(Homescreen>My
Data>MyFiles.
2.Navigatetotherequiredfilebyselectingfolderstoseeits
contents.
3.Highlightthefilethatyouwanttocopy.
4.SelectCopyfromtheFileoptions.
If you have more than 1 MicroSD card inserted, you will need to
select which card to save the file to by selecting SD1 or SD2 .
5.SelectY es.
ThefilewillnowcopytoyourMicroSDcard.
6.Oncethefilehascopied,selectOKfromtheconfirmation
dialogue.
7.Repeatsteps2to5aboveforeachfilethatyouwanttocopy.
Performingasettingsorfactoryreset
PerformingaFactoryresetwilleraseALLuserdataandresetthe
MFD’ssettingstoFactorydefaultvalues.PerformingaSettings
resetwillrestoreyourMFD’ssettingstofactorydefaults,whilst
retaininguserdata.
1.SelectSettingsreset,fromtheThisdisplaytab:Homescreen
>Settings>Thisdisplay>Settingsresettoperformasettings
reset.
2.SelectFactoryreset,fromtheThisdisplaytab:Homescreen
>Settings>Thisdisplay>Factoryresettoperformafactory
reset.
Importinguserdata
Y oucanimportuserdata(i.e.:Waypoints,RoutesandT racks)to
yourMFD.
1.InserttheMicroSDcardthatcontainsyouruserdatafilesintoa
cardreaderslotonyourMFD.
2.SelectImportfromcardfromtheImport/exportpage:(
Homescreen>Mydata>Import/export>Importfromcard).
3.SelecttherelevantSDcardslotfromthefilebrowserandthen
navigatetoyourUserdatafile(.gpx)
4.SelecttherelevantGPXfile.
Y ouruserdatahasnowbeenimported.
5.SelectOK.
