1. Insert the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket.
2. Connect one of the adapter’s plugs to the headset and the other to the phoneset (See illustration above). The LED on both the headset and phoneset flash twice per second while charging. The LEDs flash only once per second when charging is complete.
3. Disconnect the headset and the phoneset from the adapter when charging is complete.

Use the opportunity to recharge Air Bud whenever it will not be in use for an extended period of time. This will ensure that Air Bud has a full supply of talk time.
Frequent and partial charging does not adversely affect the Li-Ion battery performance."
Recharge the headset battery when the headset beeps four times and the LED flashes four times every five seconds.
Recharge the phoneset battery when the headset beeps twice and the LED flashes two times every five seconds.
Air Bud terminates the link between the headset and phoneset after a warning beep. You cannot operate Air Bud until you recharge the batteries.

Plug the phoneset’s 2.5mm plug into your cellular phone’s audio jack. The phoneset and headset are ready to operate.

To change the ear hook from one side to the other, slide the ear hook to the right or left and remove it. Turn the ear hook over and insert it into the ear hook holes on the opposite side.

• Do not charge the headset or phoneset outside the temperature range of 30–115° F.
• Use only the supplied cigarette lighter adapter to charge the headset and phoneset.
• Do not attempt to remove the lithium ion batteries. Doing so could damage the headset or phoneset.

• You must fully charge the headset and phoneset batteries before initial use. Allow approximately three hours for a full charge.
• Do not press the buttons on the headset or phoneset while charging the batteries. Doing so places ir Bud in factory test mode.
• We recommend recharging the headset and phoneset batteries at the same time.
• For charging at home or in the office, you can charge the headset and phoneset using a 12V, minimum 300 mA AC adapter and a size B Adaptaplug™ adapter (neither supplied). Both are available at your local RadioShack store or online at www.RadioShack.com.

If you wish to turn off the headset (sleep mode), hold the headset button down for approximately 20 seconds until the LED flashes twice, then release the button. To turn the headset back on, repeat this process, the headset will enter into the standby mode.

Rotate the volume dial, located on the top of the headset, to its lowest level then adjust it to a comfortable listening level. You may also use your cellular phone’s volume control to adjust the volume.

Press the headset button. The headset beeps once to indicate it is active and will beep a second time when it has connected with the phoneset and entered talk mode. Press TALK on your cellular phone to answer the call.

Press END on your cellular phone. Then press the headset button to return Air Bud to the standby mode.

For cellular handsets that have a voice­dialing feature, press Air Bud’s headset button once. Activate your cellular phone’s voice-dialing feature and speak your command.
For a cellular phone that does not have a voice-dialing feature, press the headset button once. Then dial the number on the cellular handset and press SEND.

The headset generates a warning tone (1 beep per second for 15 seconds) when the distance between the headset and phoneset exceeds a communication distance of approximately 30 feet.

If your Air Bud is not working properly, reset it by connecting the headset and phoneset to DC power. Follow the instructions under “Charging the Batteries” on Page 1 to make the required connections.

Keep Air Bud dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and store Air Bud only in normal temperature environments. Handle Air Bud carefully; do not drop it. Keep Air Bud away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
If your Air Bud is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance. Modifying or tampering with Air Bud’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it.
Limited One-Year Warranty
This product is warranted by RadioShack against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use for one (1) year from the date of purchase from RadioShack company-owned stores and authorized RadioShack franchisees and dealers.
