Simply plug the audio outputs of any component – such as an A/V receiver, CD, or MP3 player – into the audio
inputs of the sender (#15-1938) and plug the sender into an AC outlet. Then, plug RadioShack PowerLine Digital
Receiver/Speakers (# 40-1462) into any electrical outlet in your home. If you have your own speakers, just plug
your RadioShack PowerLine Digital Audio Receiver/Amplifi er (# 15-1937) into any electrical outlet and connect
your speakers. Using this receiver, you can control the volume, balance, bass and treble of your remote speakers.
Best of all, the RadioShack Networked Home Entertainment System is completely portable.
1. Make certain that your audio source is powered off.
2. Connect the line level stereo outputs from the audio source, such
as a CD player to the sender's AUDIO IN. Match LEFT to L and
RIGHT to R.
Or,
Connect the surround or speaker outputs from your Home Theater
System or A/V receiver to the sender's SPEAKER IN.
DO NOT connect both cables to the sender's AUDIO IN and
SPEAKER IN.
3. Connect the AC power cord’s female plug end into AC IN, and
then plug the AC cord’s other end into a standard AC outlet.
4. Turn on the audio source, and then press the POWER button on
your sender.
Your sender’s Audio Input Level Lo/Hi is preset to Lo. If you hear
volume distortion, adjust the Audio Input Level Lo/Hi to Hi.
1. Split apart about 4 inches (10.16 cm) of speaker wire on
each end. Then use a wire stripper to strip 1/2 in. (1.27 cm)
of insulation from each wire’s end.
2. Connect one end of the wire to SPEAKER OUT on the
Amplifi ed Receiver / Speaker. (Be sure to match the
polarity of the wires when making your connection.)
3. Connect the other end to the satellite speaker. Be sure to
correctly match polarity.
4. Insert the AC power cord’s female plug end into the
receiver/speaker’s AC IN jack, and then plug the AC cord’s
other end into a standard AC outlet.

How does the system send audio without wires?
The sender converts the audio signal to a 4.3 – 20.9MHz carrier frequency,
then sends it through your home power line to a receiver that converts it
back to its original form, and then sends it to the amplifi er and speakers.
Why won’t my system work?
• Make sure each AC power cord connects to the system device and wall
outlet securely.
• Make sure the devices are plugged directly into a wall outlet. Do not use
a power strip or any other adapter.
Why don’t I hear any sound from the system?
• Be sure your sender and receivers are turned on.
• Be sure all wires are connected securely.
• Be sure the audio source is turned on.
• Adjust the receiver’s volume control.
• Be sure the amplifi ed speaker system is placed within the sender’s 300foot transmission range.
• Check power connector and fuse if speaker power indicator is not light,
How can I correct for distorted sound?
Reduce the audio source’s volume. Make sure your sender’s Audio Input
Level is set to High.
How can I correct for popping noises or drop outs in the sound?
• Relocate your sender. Your amplifi ed speaker system must be within 300
feet of the sender.
• Try another outlet. Some outlets may have excessive noise from
switching devices that your Home Plug can’t overcome.
• While using Home Plug, turn off compact fl uorescent lights, halogen
lights and other devices that may cause interference.
How can I increase my output volume?
To boost your volume, set the sender’s Audio Input Level to Low.
How many speakers / receivers can I connect?
Although you can only connect one transmitter, under some conditions you
may be able to connect up to 4 or more receivers and speakers.
Can I use this system with other HomePlug or Plug ‘n Power products?
Your HomePlug audio system is compatible with other HomePlug products.
While there are bandwidth limitations, you should not experience problems,
unless you have more than 16 HomePlug devices on the powerline or
you have noisy electronics on the power line. Plug ‘n Power operates in
different bands than HomePlug and shouldn’t create interference.
Keep the networked home entertainment system dry. If it gets wet,
wipe it dry immediately. Use and store it only in room temperature
environments. Handle it carefully. Do not drop it. Keep the system away
from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it
looking new.
If your system is not performing as it should, take it to your local
RadioShack store for assistance. To locate your nearest RadioShack,
use the store locator feature on RadioShack’s website (www.radioshack.
com), or call
1-800-The Shack (843-7422) and follow the menu options. Modifying
or tampering with the system’s internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate its warranty and void your FCC
authorization to operate it.
• Read these instructions.
• Heed all warnings.
• Follow all instructions.
• Do not use this apparatus near water.
• Clean only with dry cloth.
• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A
polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug
has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are
provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fi t into your outlet, consult an
electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
