Step One
Installing Batteries In the Transmitter
1. Use aPhillips screwdriverto loosenthe screw from the battery compartment,and remove the cover.
2. Placea9Vbattery (not supplied) in the compartmentas indicated by the polaritysymbols (+ and –).
3. Replacethe cover and secure it with the screw.
Battery Notes
Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
Do not burn or bury batteries.
Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.
Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries or rechargeablebatteriesofdifferent capacities.
If you do not plan to use the bug for several days, remove the batteries. Batteries canleakchemicals that can damageelectronic parts.
Batteries purchased for use in this toy may pose a hazard to children.Pleasecheck safetynotice
supplied with batteries beforeuse.
Step Two
Replacing Batteries in the Bug
1. TurnofftheBug.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw fromthe battery compartment,andremove the cover.
3. Remove the old batteries and place three new AA batteries in the compartmentasindicatedby the polaritysymbols(+ and –).
4. Replacethe cover and secure it with the screw.

When the Buggoes outside the transmitter’s range, it stops. Hold the transmitter as high aspossible (with the antenna vertical) totry to re-establish contact. Continue to move closer to the Buguntil you can control it with thetransmitter.

Care
Your bug worksbest on firmsurface (but not slippery)suchas a woodenor tile floor.
Runningyour bug continuously for longperiodsof time generateshighheat levels. Heat causeswear and tear onmotor. To keep heat level down, cool your bug at least 10 minutes before installing fresh batteries.
If the bug's antennaeflashesbut does not respondto the transmitter,movecloser to thebug and tryagain.
If someone uses a CB nearby,itmight interfere with control ofthe bug. Ifthis happens, move the bug away from the CB.
You cannot operateyourbug near devices withtransmittersthatuse the samefrequencyas your bug(27 or 49 MHz).Check the box to see which frequencyyou have.
If the bug moves slowly and you have installed fresh batteries, check the wheel mechanisms for lint, thread, hair or dust.
