INTRODUCTION
Your Radio Shack Smoke Alarm Siren Detector gives you extr a protection if a smoke alarm is out of
normal hearing range. The detector
listens
for the siren from the smoke
alarm. When the detector
siren, it sends a signal to the base,
which sounds the system’s alarm.

Notes:
• The siren detector does not
detect smoke. It only detects the
sound from a smoke alarm.
• We suggest you use a Radio
Shack Cat. No. 49-466 Smoke
Alarm with the siren detector.
Other smoke alarms might not
work properly.
• Be sure you test the siren detector as described under “Testing”
on Page 12.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLING THE
BATTERY
1. Slide off the battery compartment
cover .
2. Connect a 9-volt alkaline battery
(Cat. No. 23-553) to the battery
connector. Then place the battery in the compartment.
