BATTERY POWER
Your TV requires four AAA batteries (not supplied). You may purchase alkaline batteries from your local RadioShack store.
1. Slide off the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert the batteries into the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.
3. Replace the cover.
Notes:
• The TV can operate for about 2 hours (3.5 for audio only mode) with alkaline
batteries. When the sound level lowers or the picture becomes unstable, replace the batteries.
• The TV’s internal batteries automatically disconnect when you connect an adapter.
AC POWER
You can power the TV using a regulated 6V AC adapter of at least 400 mA, and a size B Adaptaplug™ adapter (neither supplied). Both are available at your local RadioShack store.
Set the adapter’s voltage switch to 6V. Insert the Adaptaplug into the adapter’s cord, aligning + with TIP. Plug the Adaptaplug’s barrel plug into the TV’s
DC IN 6V jack. Then, plug the other end
of the AC adapter cord into a standard AC outlet.
Note: The adapter might become warm after extended periods of use.
USING VEHICLE BATTERY POWER
You can power the TV from a vehicle’s 12V power source (such as a cigarette-lighter socket) using a 6V, 400-mA DC adapter and a size B Adaptaplug™ adapter (neither supplied).
Set the adapter’s voltage switch to 6V. Insert the Adaptaplug into the adapter’s cord, aligning + with TIP. Plug the Adaptaplug’s barrel plug into the TV’s the vehicle’s cigarette lighter and plug the large end of the DC adapter cord into the cigarette-lighter socket.
Note: If the TV does not operate properly when you use DC power, be sure the cigarettelighter socket is clean and that the adapter’s plug is properly connected to the socket.

the selected channel number below the screen.

BACKLIGHT
In low temperatures, the TV screen takes a few seconds to light, or it might be slightly red in color. This is not a malfunction. Normal operation resumes after a few seconds.
USING AN EARPHONE
For private listening, you can connect an optional earphone with a 1/8-inch plug to the EAR jack. This automatically mutes the built-in speaker.
Cautions:
•Set
VOLUME to the lowest setting before you begin listening. Then adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
• Do not use an earphone when operating a vehicle or riding a bicycle. This can cause a traffic hazard and can be illegal in
some areas.
USING THE TV AS A MONITOR
You can play back the signal from an audio/video component connected to your TV’s AUDIO/VIDEO jack. You will need a Y-adapter cable (not supplied), available at your local RadioShack store. Connect the cable’s red plug to the component’s video output jack, and its white plug to the component’s audio output jack. Then, plug the cable’s mini plug into the TV’s jack.
Note: Connecting an audio/video component disables the TV’s antenna.

External Antenna
If you are in an area with weak TV signals, or inside a metal or concrete building, you might need an external antenna to improve reception.
Connect the antenna to the E X T. A N T. jack. If your antenna wire is 75-ohm coaxial cable, use an F-tomini plug adapter to complete the connection. If you have 300-ohm wire, use a 300-to-75 ohm mini plug adapter. Both are available at your local RadioShack store.

Care
These suggestions will help you care for your LCD TV so you can enjoy it for years.
• Keep the TV dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
• Handle the TV gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage the circuit boards and cases and can cause the TV to work improperly. Be particularly careful of the screen. Avoid putting the TV in your pocket or purse together with hard objects (such as coins or keys).
• Use and store the TV only in normal temperature environments.
• Keep the TV away from dust and dirt.
• Wipe the TV with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the TV.
• Modifying or tampering with the TV’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the TV’s warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it.
Caution: This product contains mercury and must be recycled or disposed of properly.

Power Cautions
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Batteries can leak chemicals that damage your TV’s electronic parts.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them. Batteries can leak chemicals that may destroy electronic parts.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
• You must use a regulated Class 2 power source that supplies 6V DC and delivers at least 400 mA. Its center tip must be set to positive and its plug must fit the TV's DC IN 6V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the TV or the adapter.
• Always connect the AC adapter to the TV before you connect it to AC power. When you finish, disconnect the adapter from AC power before you disconnect it from the TV.
• Do not leave the adapter plugged into the AC outlet, plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket or connected to the TV when you are not using the TV.
