Power
BATTERIES
Your TV uses three AA batteries (not sup­plied). For the best results, we recommend alkaline batteries (Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-
552).
1. Slide off the battery compartment’s cover in the direction of the arrows .
2. Insert three fresh batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.

• The TV can operate for about 2 hours with alkaline batteries. When the sound level lowers or the picture becomes unstable, replace the batteries.

AC POWER
You can power the TV from a standard AC outlet.
You must use an optional AC adapter that supplies 6 volts and delivers at least 550 mA. Its ce nter tip must be set to negati ve, and its plug must cor rectly fit the TV’s
jack. (We recommend Radio Shack Cat.

VEHICLE BATTERY POWER
You can use an optinal DC adapter to power the TV from your vehicle’s cigarette-lighter socket if your vehicle has a 12-volt DC, neg­ative-ground electrical system.

USING THE TV AS A MONITOR

Notes
• If desired, fold out the stand on the back of the TV and lean the TV on a flat surface at a convenie nt angle.
• If reception is poor, adjust the length or angle of the rod antenna. If inside a metal or concrete building, moving closer to a window might improve reception.
BACKLIGHT
In low temperatures, the TV screen takes a few seconds to light, or it might be slightly red in color. This is not a malfunction. Nor­mal operation resumes after a short while.

• Keep the TV dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immedi ately.
• Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. T hey can leak chemicals that destr oy electronic circuits.
• Handle the TV gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases and can ca us e th e TV to w ork im properly. Be particularly ca r ef ul of the d is play screen. Avo id putting the TV in your pocket or purse together with hard objects (coins, keys, etc.).
• Use and store the TV o nly in normal temperat ure environments.
• Keep the TV away from dust and dirt.
• Wipe the TV with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong de tergent s to clean the TV.
