You can power your radio using:
• internal battery power (with four AA batteries).
• standard AC power (with an optional AC adapter).
• vehicle battery power (with an optional DC adapter).

You can use four AA batteries (not supplied) to power your radio. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend RadioShack alkaline batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
2. Place the batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.
3. Replace the cover.
When the radio stops operating properly, replace the batteries.
