CONNECTING POWER
Your radio uses the supplied AC adapter for power and three AA batteries (not supplied) for operation and back-up power.
Using AC Power
1. Insert the supplied AC adapter’s barrel plug into the jack at the back of the radio.
2. Plug the AC adapter into a standard AC outlet.
DC 6V
Using Batteries
Your radio requires three AA batteries (not supplied) for operation and backup power when AC power fails or is temporarily disconnected. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend RadioShack alkaline batteries.
Cautions:
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries to power the radio.
Notes:
• Always connect the radio to AC power for normal use.
• If the backup battery becomes weak, your radio might not sound a tone when an emergency or test alert is broadcast. Or, the talking clock might not announce. Test your radio’s reception periodically and replace the batteries if the tone does not sound or talking clock does not work properly.
