The Radio Shack AM/FM Bike Radio is versatile and easy to use. It
combines a radio, a reflector, and a horn - all in one compact package
that easily mounts on your bike's handlebar!

INSTALLING BATTERIES
The bike radio uses four C batteries for power. We recommend alkaline
batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-551.
1. Turn the mounting bracket's knob counterclockwise to loosen it and
remove the bracket.
2. Press down and slide the battery compartment cover in the direction
of the arrows and lift off the cover.
3. Install the batteries on top of the battery ribbon, placing them as
indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the
compartment.
4. Replace the cover and mounting bracket. Turn the mounting bracket's
knob clockwise to secure it.
Note: If you do not plan to use the bike radio for a week or more,
remove the batteries. This protects the radio from possible
battery leakage.

MOUNTING THE BIKE RADIO
Choose a mounting location on the bike's handlebar where the radio does
not interfere with the bike's operation and the reflector is easily
visible.
1. Use a Philips screwdriver to loosen the mounting bracket's screws
and remove the lower portions of the brackets.
2. Place the mounting bracket on top of the handlebar and the two lower
brackets on the bottom.
3. Hold the two portions together and thread a screw through each of
the holes on the lower brackets, into the mounting bracket. Then
secure the screws with the Philips screwdriver.
USING THE RADIO
Follow these steps to use the radio.
1. Turn VOLUME clockwise until it clicks to turn on the radio.
2. Set BAND to FM or AM.
3. Turn TUNING to the desired station.
4. Adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.
5. Turn VOLUME counterclockwise to OFF to turn off the radio.
USING THE HORN
You can sound the horn even when the radio is on. To sound the horn,
press the orange button on the front panel.

The Radio Shack AM/FM Bike Radio is an example of superior design and
craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the bike
radio so you can enjoy it for years.
Keep the bike radio dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Use and store the bike radio only in normal temperature environments.
Handle the bike radio gently and carefully.
Keep the bike radio away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature
wear of parts.
Wipe the radio with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.
Modifying or tampering with the bike radio's internal components can cause
a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. If your bike radio is
not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for
assistance.
